So happy for y'all. Glad all was well. Enjoy the new addition. My sister had a home birth and her husband ended up delivered their daughter. Midwife didn't make it in time.
My daughter just had her first baby the end of February and she was induced which I was totally against. She had a really bad labor. They started giving her the patocin after she had been fully admitted. She ended up getting an epidural a couple of hours later which I recommended her not to do. It worked for a couple of hours after that she was feeling everything. She had hard labor for 18 hours. Being 20 it really took a toll on her. Her pain level was over an hundred %. She finally had the baby which caused more complications and they had to work on her for about 45 minutes..she lost a tremendous amount of blood which the doctors had no clue wer she was bleeding from. Thank God I know Him and have a relationship. I prayed as I do and God let them know she was bleeding from her cervix. They heard me praying so they looking at me at this point I aweee. After they got her sowed up and things of that nature was around 4am. She started round 2pm which she was already dilating before then cause she was checked in at 10 pm the night before. My first time hearing about the balloon thingy was when you just spoke on it. They never mentioned a procedure of that sort. Im in Atlanta Georgia and they recommend majority of the babies be induced. To me that's trying to play God. I wished my daughters first experience wasn't so horrible. I'm glad to know about the balloon cause I have a niece about to deliver next month and one in Sept. I like that better than the patocin. It makes you hurt 100 times more. I wouldn't let them give me that. I had mines natural and it was very painful but I just trusted God through the process. Later the epidural had an affect on my baby. She started throwing up and running a fever. I was exhausted like I had a baby and I have seen 8 kids with them s one come out the womb..I'm so glad to hear that it wasn't so bad for you and you and baby firefly did great..Thanks for sharing 😉
Well in the middle of the night when I was only a nurse for a month. Now the mother delivered the baby but I caught it. Luckily there was a CNA who had worked there for many years clamped the cord and then the doc came in. This Mom went went very fast. I was very nervous when the doc came in but it was fine. I never worked in Ob again. It was a very small hospital and only had one RN on the night shift. So I became a pediatric nurse. You look wonderful. I'm so glad things went so well. I know he is beautiful. So glad that you didn't have to have C section.
I'm so glad to see a mom that doesn't bash epidurals or other mothers that use them. There is such a trend of all natural birthing and a lot of these moms that are in that mindset treat other mothers that decide to have the epidural as if they they are less of a mother for choosing that, which is far from the truth. All 3 of my babies were born "sunny side up" facing the ceiling....those births cause labor to be much more intense than the average labor, and I wouldn't have made it through without the epidural. It's so good to see a positive birth story without that pressure to deliver naturally! Congratulations on the birth of your sweet little baby, you look absolutely giddy at your little gift from G-d!
Wow I had one birth where my baby was sunny side up and it was so intense!!! I showed up at the hospital with contractions 1-3 minutes apart and so strong and they said I was 1cm dilated 🤦🏼♀️
I hate when they say “oh, stop pushing” because when your body is pushing on its own it’s not like you can actually stop pushing lol. I’m so happy everything went well and everyone is happy and healthy! Congratulations ❤
I lost my phone and kept wondering if baby had arrived. Didn't have Utube on my laptop. New phone and my name shortened (Elizabeth to Eliza). Phone recovered & awaiting a transfer of old material. I'm thrilled you had such a good labour and delivery. Daddy Firefly looked so happy and you are glowing. Congratulations on little man's safe arrival. His siblings must be over the moon.
Congratulations! I had that moment of okay stop pushing now we have to wait for the doctor too. I have never understood the having to have a doctor to catch the baby. Women helped women since the beginning of time without a medical degree, and if something really went caddywampus they are in a hospital. Baby needs to come when it is ready.
Congratulations! Did you shake my hand? We too have four sons, they have been the joy of our lives. Sharing your birth story helped us relive the miracle of birth and the expansion of love.
Congratulations from France. I was born Christian but I'm not religious at all. I can't stop watching your videos and discovering about Judaism. Plus you are smiling all the time and you sound so full of joy! Keeping going while welcoming the new firefly. 😁
Welcome to Baby Firefly!! May all of God’s blessings follow this wonderful child throughout his life. May his brothers and sister find joy in showing him and teaching him what it means to be a member of the Firefly family. Mazel Tov to all!
Mazel Tov!! We have seven children and I love birth stories! My fastest delivery was a story. I was a week overdue with my third child but I worked at a hospital, the hospital where I was going to deliver, so I decided to go to work. About 30 minutes after starting my shift I started having contractions. I realized they were gettting regular so after about 40 minutes I decided to call my husband and told him and my coworkers I was going to OB triage to get checked out. They checked my cervix and I was 8cm dilated! I had to frantically call my husband and tell him to get to the hospital ASAP. My doctor was thankfully at the hospital already so he was ready to go but I wasn’t! My husband made it with about 10 minutes to spare and out came our son, less than two hours after I showed up for my shift at the hospital. I had to call my coworkers to tell them I wouldn’t be returning for the day because I had a baby. They couldn’t believe it and, frankly, neither could I! When we moved to the post partum area they asked if I had all my things but all I had with me were my scubs and purse. 😅
Haha! You brought back a funny memory. Throwing up brought on my strongest contractions just before the doctor arrived. She “caught” my son just a few moments after she came into the room. 🤣 She said, “Mothers deliver babies; doctors catch them.”
I’m in tears. So happy❤️for you and family. My youngest is 40. I am reliving both my children’s birth. 🧡💚 Be healthy and love your family. 💙Take time for yourself, too. A good shower. Extra naps. 💙
Congratulations! I have a similar "baby is coming NOW!" story from my daughter's birth. We had midwives in the hospital, and my partner was supposed to catch the baby. She crowned, and my partner started to glove up, but the midwives told him it would still be a little while because I had to get the shoulders out. Well, my body had other plans and one massive push later and my daughter was born on the bed!
@@kokuhakuqiun4215 Not a nurse! I should state that I live in Ontario, Canada, where midwives are university trained and are well-integrated into our health care system. Having partners to help catch is pretty normal where I live.
My husband pretty much delivered our fifth because she came down so fast. We were not concerned because all six of ours were at home. It's kind of odd to think someone has to have a license to support a baby's body coming out, especially if other people are there to keep an eye out for any hitches.
Thank you, God...Chana, from the bottom middle and top of my heart...I'm jubilant for you and your beautiful family. I think I've checked for an update every 1/2 hour! I just binged on older videos. Lol. Have fun! Nobody deserves it more! My heart is full!💗🙏🥰 As much as I wish to see baby, I would never share my child's countenance, either.
Channa you look wonderful. Congratulations on your new son. Your husband looked so proud holding him and I bet his sibling are really excited to have a baby brother.
Lol. My first one was caught by the nurse. Labor was 5 hours and my second one was 19 minutes...your body gets to a point that there is no stopping and baby is coming 😂
That's such a BRILLIANT idea to give the kids a learning activity as a gift when you leave to have a baby. I think just giving them a regular toy is kind of... I don't know what to say, like it's just kind of weird? So giving them something that's a whole activity rather than just a stuffed animal or something is a great idea.
I just checked here to see if Baby Firefly was here! Congratulations to momma, daddy and the other sibling Fireflies! Thank you for sharing your beautiful life with us! You make my Monday every week! Love and prayers!❤️☺️🙏🏼
Wow! Congratulations. I’m so surprised it was a boy. I had the worst morning sickness with my girls and almost nine with my boys. Everyone is different. What a blessing to have a new baby boy.❤️
Congrats! I love listening to birth stories! I just had a home birth earlier this year! It was my fastest labor to date. From the first contraction to the birth was 4 hours! My husband almost missed it! My last birth was 17 hours. No one was expecting this one to be so fast!
Congratulations!!! My youngest son's head was delivered by a nurse and my doctor did get in the room before his shoulders were delivered but the nurse was like "welp this is my first time but not yours the head is coming out so lets have a baby" LOL! I thought I was the only one!
In Scotland most deliveries are done by midwives. Doctors are on hand for any complications and emergencies. I found everyone very helpful and positive. Congratulations to you and your husband. Best wishes and hopes for you both and the children as you enjoy meeting this new little one.
Mazel Tov! So glad you and baby boy are healthy. Daddy Firefly, brothers and sister ate probably so thrilled. The two grandmothers will be such a big help during this postpartum time. Now onto the Brith Milah.
Awww...congratulations, he’s here! Have you decided on a name? My daughter was 9lbs8oz, (but she’ll be 40 in September) :) My son was only 8lbs1oz (he’s 32) Very happy for all of you! I know the other kids must love him! Thank you for taking us on this very special journey
Congratulations on your birth and the welcoming of your baby boy into the world! It was so good to see you cheerful and feeling positive about your birth! With my second birth, my daughter came very quickly and my doctor wasn’t at the hospital. The nurse also told me to breathe through the contractions- but I didn’t have an epidural- I laughed in her face and said the baby is coming on her own, I have no control over this! She was born about a minute before the doctor walked in, I know the nurses were probably stressed out, but they have to expect that as a possibility- I mean who honestly believes a mother can stop pushing once her baby is down that far!?! I understand for all the reasons of efficiency that they don’t want to have the doc wait around, but they have to know what outcomes they are flirting with when they make the choice to wait to call doc til the last minute! And what a wonderful blessing that baby was born shortly and you were able to come home before 48hrs had passed!!!
Congratulations on the safe arrival of your beautiful baby boy! I hope you have a wonderful getting to know each other on the outside. I’m shocked that a nurse can’t deliver a baby but a doctor needs to be present. Here in Australia it would be an university qualified registered midwife (RM) who would monitor you through labour and deliver the baby sometimes, otherwise it would be an OB present for the delivery. Always interesting to find out how things happen in other parts of the world.
Congratulations! I love hearing about successful VBAC ! I’ll definitely be sharing your story with our local ICan chapter. The way you advocated for yourself, went to 42 weeks and didn’t allow doctors to bully you into induction before that plus a “big” baby. It’s everything VBAC moms need to hear! Congrats!
I’ll add them that I got them to push my due date off five days so he may have actually been way past 42 weeks lol It’s all about finding the right Dr :)
Congratulations! I was going through my pregnancy at the same time as you. You were a few weeks ahead of me. But I watched this while my little one was almost a month old already. He came a month early due to pregnancy induced hypertension. Enjoy your first few weeks together! They are some of the best!
Congratulations!!! Nothing beats the smiles on both your face and Mr. Firefly's face -- SO HAPPY & PROUD (as you should be!!)!! I bet the other kids adore thier new brother!
I have to say it makes me spitting mad when people say to "wait for the doctor!" Our bodies know what to do. It can actually damage babies to try to make moms hold off and my blood pressure goes up when I hear there are attendants at a birth who say they can't deliver a baby. Yikes! I'm so glad you and little man are well. 🥰
@@veehunter4644 money and prestige. Doctors cannot afford for people to realize they can deliver without a doctor present and a birth is not an emergency medical situation.
I'm so happy for you! I first listened to you when you had experienced the miscarriage over Yom Kippur and it's especially good to hear of a new healthy birth under those circumstances.
Congratulations 🥳 so precious welcome Baby Firefly ❤️ it’s crazy how birth is in America versus in my home country Ireland. Here doctors do not attend births unless there is a high risk of complications. All our babies are born by midwives 😊
I love birth stories! Each story is different and exciting and so special. I am delighted that all went well for both you and your amazing baby. Congratulations!
Mazal Tov!! Your birth story had me with tears and a huge smile simultaneously 👶🏻. I am so happy for your entire Firefly family. I am thrilled that your labor was relatively short and that baby boy is healthy and well. I am sure that the brit milah will be a very joyous occasion as his first mitzvah is completed. Having a baby at your age just makes it so much more appreciated. I was in my very late thirties when I had my youngest son and he too was a calm, bright little one after his birth and even now nearly 25 years later. Enjoy all the sweet moments and the joy of your older ones as you navigate this wonderful period of life with Mr. Firefly. May you raise him and your 3 older children to Torah, Chuppah and Ma'asim Tovim in health and happiness to 120 years. Everything is really now OKAY!!
Congratulations! I loved your birth story! How exciting to have a new son. May he be such a blessing to your household. This grandma loves a new baby and that new baby smell! Enjoy him so much, infancy goes by so fast.
Blessings to you, your newborn, and your family. I have been eagerly awaiting your return. Please take care of you ! Much love to you and your family! Congratulations!
Soooo happy for you and your family!! And lovely hospital pictures. Mine all look looked horrible! Ahaha. Like driver’s license pictures 😹. Enjoy getting to know the newest firefly and rest. ❤️
Congratulations! ❤️what a nice birth, considering your stories of previous ones. Welcome little boy Firefly. Get some rest Chana, blessings to you and your family!
I was surprised to hear you say that the nurse stated she can't deliver the baby. I was an Administrative Supervisor in a hospital for 15 years and all our L&D nurses had to have experienced 3 deliveries on their own to come off orientation. If the was no one around or if there was a rapid delivery they were able to handle it. We also always had a midwife on call. Congratulations...You did a wonderful job speaking up for yourself (very important, GO MOM!) and have a beautiful baby.
@@jaroffireflies You are welcome! The look on your husband's face when looking down at his son made me smile. Such love and awe there. You are blessed with such a lovely family!
Oh wow he's here 🙂 I have been anxious all weekend thinking about you Chana and waiting with baited breath for your video for your news. Congratulations and thank God for a safe delivery and healthy baby. Xxx
Congrats! He’s absolutely perfect. Glad you’re both doing fine. Also I get the shoulder distocia concern because that happened with me (I was a biiiig baby). It’s actually damage to the nerves that go from the spine to the arm. It isn’t life threatening but can cause issues (such as Erb’s Palsy which I have). Not the end of the world but it’s super frustrating most of the time. EDIT: to clarify, Erb's Palsy is not life threatening (frustrating and weird and painful, but not life threatening), I do not know what other possible complications that can occur with shoulder dystocia, just what I am personally familiar with through my own experience.
As an obgyn I feel like I must correct you for the benefit of others possibly reading this... Shoulder dystocia actually IS life threatening, for the baby mostly. Erbs palsy is a possible complication of SD but by far not the most severe one.
@@ariyaellevine2732 Erb's Palsy was the non-life-threatening part I was referring to (that isn't, but it is DEEPLY annoying to depressing depending on the day). Thank you for the info though. I edited my comment to clarify my meaning.

Thank you! Yes, birth is so different all over the world :)
Midwife deliveries very common in Britain.
I was also quite surprised the nurse in a labour ward had.nt delivered a baby.
Congratulations on your beautiful, healthy new baby!
Congratulations! I was going through my pregnancy at the same time as you. You were a few weeks ahead of me. But I watched this while my little one was almost a month old already. He came a month early due to pregnancy induced hypertension. Enjoy your first few weeks together! They are some of the best!
Mazel Tov! Love the sweet little baby snuggles, sneezes, and hiccups. So cute!!!!!
Mazel Tov and bright blessings to the new Firefly and the entire family. Enjoy all those sweet baby sounds and cuddles!
Congratulations to you and your family! A King, Queen, Princess 👸 and 3 Princes 🤴 🤴🤴
CONGRATULATIONS CHANA AND HUBY (DONT KNOW HIS NAME) ON THE NEW BUNDLE OF JOY
Congratulations!!! Nothing beats the smiles on both your face and Mr. Firefly's face -- SO HAPPY & PROUD (as you should be!!)!! I bet the other kids adore thier new brother!
I have to say it makes me spitting mad when people say to "wait for the doctor!" Our bodies know what to do. It can actually damage babies to try to make moms hold off and my blood pressure goes up when I hear there are attendants at a birth who say they can't deliver a baby. Yikes! I'm so glad you and little man are well. 🥰
Yeah, that is scary.... is this the norm in the US? Why does a doctor need to be present?
@@veehunter4644 it just depends on the nurse and hospital. You have to be firm with them sometimes
It’s so painful to not push during active labour I had to wait a while for the doctor to show up.
Seriously !!
@@veehunter4644 money and prestige. Doctors cannot afford for people to realize they can deliver without a doctor present and a birth is not an emergency medical situation.
Congratulations to the whole family, children are such a wonderful gift!!!!!!
Mazaltov!!!!! Lots of nachas from your little prince 💙💙💙
Wonderful news on your new baby being healthy and beautiful. Such a blessing ❤❤❤👍😀
I'm so happy for you! I first listened to you when you had experienced the miscarriage over Yom Kippur and it's especially good to hear of a new healthy birth under those circumstances.
Congratulations from Germany. I've been waiting all day for the news. So happy for you and your family.
Thank you so much Christine!
Oh my. He is gorgeous from this angle. ❤️ sounds like a good labor for you. The sneezes! The tiny sneezes! Congrats!!
Mazel tov!!! Congratulations on baby firefly!
Congratulations!!!🎈
Congratulations 🥳 so precious welcome
Baby Firefly ❤️ it’s crazy how birth is in America versus in my home country Ireland. Here doctors do not attend births unless there is a high risk of complications. All our babies are born by midwives 😊
Not crazy, just different:)
Mazel tov!!!Just precious. Thank you for sharing with us. ♥️♥️♥️🎉🎉🎉
I love birth stories! Each story is different and exciting and so special. I am delighted that all went well for both you and your amazing baby. Congratulations!
Haha having kids is wild! Great job! 🙌🙌
Congratulations Chana!!! #HomeschoolingMotherOf4
Congratulations and blessings to you, Baby Firefly and the rest of the family. Enjoy these early days!
Congratulations! I loved your birth story! How exciting to have a new son. May he be such a blessing to your household. This grandma loves a new baby and that new baby smell! Enjoy him so much, infancy goes by so fast.
Squeeee!!! Baby hiccups. He's beautiful. God is good. God is love. Many blessings to you, Baby Firefly, your husband, and your older children.
Congratulations and welcome Baby Firefly. Blessings on your family
Thank you Andrea!
Oh congratulations!!
I’m so thrilled for you and your new little one. Congratulations. 💜
BH that you and Baby Firefly are home safe and sound! A very hearty Mazel Tov to you and your family.
Thank you so much Michael!
Xxx
Thank you!
Congrats on the new arrival!
Congratulations. Welcome home Mama and baby firefly
Congratulations to you, Mr Firefly, and the little fireflies!
Those baby sneezes were adorable! 😍
