Deadliest Rockslide in Canadian History - On April 29, 1903 at 4:10 AM, 110 million tonnes of limestone fell from the summit of Turtle Mountain and covered part of the town of Frank Alberta, Canada. 90+ people died in the rockslide and most of the bodies were not recovered from under the rubble.
Fast-forward to today, the mountain is shifting each year and the mountain “will fall again” in the future. Several sensors have been placed throughout the mountain to monitor its movement and to give the people living nearby an “early warning” for when the next slide might occur.
