The aesthetic of everything was so legit. The items laying around throughout the show looked exactly how they do in the games, a lot were in the gift basket for Maximus, even the glue bottle on the overseer’s table. The weapons were on point, the super duper mart and other locations looked perfect. When songs played it immediately sucked me back into remembering. When Coop was in that first gun fight where he shot the scientist’s foot off, there’s a vats like scene in slow motion where the camera followed the bullet when it hit the guy and the guy behind him. It’s was so dope. I hope they have many more seasons, looking forward to seeing super mutants and everything else.
Nice and rambly video. It’s crazy to me that some people think that Shady Sands getting nuked automatically means the NCR is gone. They have settlements all over the place. That was one of the main points of F:NV that the NCR was spread too thin. Nuking one settlement doesn’t get rid of the NCR, even if it was their first established settlement. Did people forget what happened in The Divide?
The divide was a small settlement. Shady sands is the capital. If it was blown to hell 4 years before NV, why would the NCR be around? They’re a post apocalyptic government, they would not survive that.

@@rancidavocado2166 Right, but the sign for Shady Sands says "first capital of the NCR". So it seems like the capital was moved to another city sometime before Shady Sands was destroyed. Since the "Fall of Shady Sands" is dated to the same year as the First Battle of Hoover Dam, it might mean that the decline/over extension we kept hearing about in New Vegas was Shady Sands becoming unsuitable as the location for the capital, hence having it moved to another city. They already confirmed the NCR is still a nation and hasn't fallen, so I guess we'll just have to see when season 2 comes rolling around.
I can not express how happy I was that this show was actually good. I love the Fallout series and for once I got to walk away from a binge watch actually thrilled and excited for the second season.

Never played fallout but I really liked the show. I'm just wondering how they cleaned up vault 32. I thought Betty got people from vault 31 to get it fixed up but after the final episode, I don't think that was the case. When I first saw the refurbished vault 32, I was thinking that some outside entity was at work, replacing everything with vault tec stuff kept in storage somewhere. Now that I'm thinking about it more, I also don't understand what caused vault 32 to go crazy in the first place. Them discovering the truth of 31 started a little war? And also, Bud holding Lucy's brother captive seems kind of weird as people will wonder how he went missing since he can't open the door to the surface. Final thought here to confirm. All the people from vault 31 remember their past and were trained to be leaders of the other two vaults? So they're told that they will be frozen until one is needed to help out one of the vaults, and then they basically just live out their life as a regular vault dweller that needs to keep a secret?
None of this show makes sense beginning from the first scene of the bombs dropping then into the Vault, and onward. So.. None of the Vault dwellers realized that they didn't recognize anyone from the other vault they are supposedly in contact with every 3 years? Absurd! The writers & creators of this show think we are all really dumb. And considering the high praise this mediocre show is getting.. They seem to be right. You are too smart for your own good. They don't want you to think too much about their Reddit tier Fallout fan fiction. Just consume product, get ready for next product.
I still enjoyed the show quite a bit. I thought it was hilarious. I just feel like they touched on a lot of different topics and could not resolve all of them in the way that they paced the show. Like Moldavor being hyped up as this person that everyone knows. Yet she is not in the show much, we don't know how she survived so long and we don't get to explore much of her connection with anyone before she dies. And it won't make much sense to bring her back later as her story seems wrapped up. Something like vault 4 for example. Why do they have a weird cult worshipping her? How does she influence the land? They don't explain some things enough for me to understand the significance of these powers in the world.

Mr. Handy's are pretty common in the vaults. Wouldn't surprise me if Betty just turned on a few of those. Although, I agree that the show should make us assume that.
Does anyone remember Desmond Lockhart from Fallout 3's Point Lookout DLC? He mention's the "great game" a post-war struggle for dominance for the post-war world by various pre-war factions. His wiki entry mention's a lot more and that he may have even had a hand in the events that led to the bombs dropping. Would be great if the "Great game" is mentioned again and Desmond made a glorious return in the post-war struggle~! Maybe also what coop was mentioning by A love of the game, but that might just be him waste landing and killing A-holes for fun?

Which would be in line with NV, a few lines of dialogue imply Shady ain't doing so hot. There's an arrow after "The Fall" pointing towards the bomb indicating it happened after. Thats how timelines work. I would have to guess mid 2280's? The show takes place in 2296.
I watched Fallout and then the next couple days watched through the HBO Watchmen series. Fallout was surprisingly good but it didnt have the same cinematic quality. It was definitely one of the best video game adaptations, especially as something trying to play within the existing lore of the games and add to it. I mainly brought up Watchmen because it also has a lot of fun with the public domain Ink Spots songs. The soundtracks to the two shows have a huge amount of overlap, it was a funny juxtaposition. PS you've got a good thing going here. May the algorithm bless you.
I rewlly enjoyed that watchmen series when it came out, particularly the ozymandias stuff. I totally forgot about all of the ink spots music in it tho, and i do agree about it lacking the cinematic quality of HBO shows in general, i cant quite place it but i can always tell when something comes from HBO. Amazon can come close with its best shows but it never does fully match it. It reminds me of like how even the decent netflix shows often still have that same netflix quality to them that the bad ones have. Its reversed with HBO, even the bad shows are shot pretty good
my biggest complaint when it comes to the lore is the cameo scene of Mr. House and Frederick Sinclair. IMO they shouldn't even be in that meeting, and it goes completely against their respective stories in NV. it's weird, i still like this show and i'm excited for the future, but there's a lot of things i have problems with and am worried about.
I totally agree it was very odd that sinclair was there. But i like to think house already had his own plans for the apocalypse and his presence didnt necessarily mean hes in league with them. Just that he was privvy to their plan

I was always under the impression in NV he genuinely didn't know about the state of the Great War and his calculation was just due to luck and his immense wealth & knowledge. But now either he's lying to the Courier and knew about the Great War all along (why would he lie? and how'd he get the platinum chip delivery wrong?), or he wasn't in on the conspiracy but was still present in the meetings.
It's almost a benefit that you didn't finish your ghoul video before this one! The 'serum' and 28-year timeline beckons some explanation or at least theorizing! I think if you released it when you planned, you'd have had to re-do parts of it, or make a second upload! Blessing in disguise
Walton Goggins not getting into the lore or trying at all to learn anything before playing the Ghoul is a little annoying to me. He literally called Dogmeat (a character that has been in nearly every single game) MEATHEAD in an interview AND NO ONE CORRECTED HIM. Like how easy would those sort of things be for him to just brush up, it makes him come across as a smug ass who sees this as a paycheck!!. The Ghoul Character in my opinion is made for “non fallout playing, TV show watching” type people. Evident by himself literally saying he thought of this whole show as “A Western” 😑, and his fans are just as surface level and brain dead. He feels very performative on purpose and his cowboy shtick is cringe at best! The scenes with him pre-war are good though!

The only issue i have with the show is that fallout 4 and new vegas endings have been canonized or it's importance have been obliterated. Though it works for the themes of fallout and I worry I'm having old world blues.
I honestly thought the show was just gonna be a cash grab. But the way you describe it makes me reconsider my initial thoughts. Might go and check it out.
awesome video. it really is suprising how the show is actually good honestly. Corny in a way that fits the game. It would be really cool if you have a section of your reviews that talk about the campyness and cornyness of the games. I feel its an important aspect that the games are loved for, even before bethesda got the IP. Whiles theres a lot of fallout retrospectives, i am excited for yours.
I watched it, i kinda liked it in some way, but defo didn't like the way they went with the lore and stuff, like the enclave being back randomly and vault tech being the bomb droppers, i think that was unnecessary to reveal. Sometimes i prefer things being unknown, I've seen some people talk about the NCR and the bombing, but the NCR could've still been fine for all sakes. Idk, what to think. Fallout at this point is ummm, something... to say the least, great vid my guy.❤
The NCR is actually still OK, they've come out and confirmed that. It's only that Shady Sands was destroyed. Also it looks like Shady Sands was no longer the capital of the NCR due to some kind of decline since the sign Lucy and Maximus see says "fist capital of the NCR". Besides being confirmed as still around, it's not too hard to belive the NCR survived. Their capital is elsewhere and they still have a lot more territory than just Shady Sands. I don't want to get my hopes up too much, but I think we'll hear/see more in season 2.
Since they are going to new Vegas, maybe they are saving the t-51b power armor for the lost hills(I think that’s the name) chapter of the brotherhood, since they are closer to new Vegas than the chapter seen in the show.
Well to be fair, that's a bit different. Sonic has several continuities that span different games, so it's easy to say the movies are their own continuity. But Fallout is different since all the games share the same universe, not different continuities. So the show being canon isn't too wild.

It’s likely that older ghouls have a higher chance to become feral due to high radiation exposure while other ghouls that have low radiation exposure will not become a feral and don’t need radaway like the first generation ghouls.🤔🐱
was a rly good watch. there is at least 2~3 big timeline issues tho they murked up for rly no reasons.... shady sands blowing up in 2077 - which is the exact point when F03 happens - FNV happening in 2081, this alone wouldnt be too much a problem - but like for obvious reason shady sands going nuclear is never been a thing prior to the show now so obviously not mentioned in FNV. house being there in flashbacks, is a bit eh, but like dud knew about it so not rly the biggest issue. a big massive stupid thing they did on their end tho is how they had to call the airship the prydwen for no fucking reasons at all, couldnt come up with another name for it.... the prydwen was never on the westcoast. was build between events of F03 and F04. on the eastcoast. construction literally only begun in 2078, this is like documented in F04 itself... ~~~ overall it still was pretty enjoyable to watch tho....

The fact that they have old 50s music playing as Lucy wanders in the second episode made me so happy just like wandering wasteland listening to the pip boy radio and the good god the environmental storytelling was amazing
So the show is canon to the Fallout universe. They probably meant that they were taking liberties in creating their own original story in the universe instead of adapting one if the games.

for me Fallout 3 is *easily* the worst mainline Fallout game. It really seems like most people are carried by nostalgia in favor of it but it has the worst "factions" with a retread of the Enclave and a very uncharacteristic Brotherhood (which has forever tainted their reputation as able to be good which it fundamentally cannot be considering it's literally an autocratic fascist police state). Its story has more flaws and stupid shit in it (Megaton and the ending and just the main plot problem in general) than 4 and it just looks and plays the worst in the franchise.

Sorry the fallout series is actually pretty bad, mary sue protagonist, retcons, men are portrayed mostly as either soy or stupid with only a few few exceptions, it's like like the creators dont care about what was before so they they retconned and made it there own (in there minds) screw the lore that the people researched and put time in, it's not good just look at the redflags

I've played every Fallout game and I thought the show was awesome. I didn't really notice too many retcons, but let's be real here, every game since Fallout 2 has introduced retcons. That's just how things are since the universe is ever evolving. Still, I'm sorry to hear you didn't like the show.

I was overall very divided with this show. Really enjoyed some parts and some added stuffs. (The Vault-Tec ''Plan B'', made me laugh so hard.) But I found some stuffs a bit too much. Like the ''diversity'' stuffs and Mary-Sue feminist b.llsh.t in the first and the last episode. Also, I thought at the end of the show, it became too predictable. SPOILER. Like as soon as I saw Mr House in the operational room I was like: Ok, next season we will be visiting Mr House in New Vegas.
I can even predict how some things will be going. The big reveal will be that Mr House will have ''The Ghoul'' family cryogenated in some hidden Vault. So in exchange for the Vault location, the ghoul will have to betray his new friends to steal the cold fusion core for Mr House. ( The chip will be replaced with the Cold fusion core in the show) The Ghoul will betray Mr House in the end and kill him. And they will all go to the hidden vault for Season 3.
This show is trash. I don't have to watch it to know that. And all these "reviews" praising it because it isn't complete garbage shows you just how low our expectations have gotten. Someone could release a show about a jar of mayonnaise and people would praise it because "at least it isn't as bad as such and such show!"

I watched Fallout and then the next couple days watched through the HBO Watchmen series. Fallout was surprisingly good but it didnt have the same cinematic quality. It was definitely one of the best video game adaptations, especially as something trying to play within the existing lore of the games and add to it. I mainly brought up Watchmen because it also has a lot of fun with the public domain Ink Spots songs. The soundtracks to the two shows have a huge amount of overlap, it was a funny juxtaposition.

I rewlly enjoyed that watchmen series when it came out, particularly the ozymandias stuff. I totally forgot about all of the ink spots music in it tho, and i do agree about it lacking the cinematic quality of HBO shows in general, i cant quite place it but i can always tell when something comes from HBO. Amazon can come close with its best shows but it never does fully match it. It reminds me of like how even the decent netflix shows often still have that same netflix quality to them that the bad ones have. Its reversed with HBO, even the bad shows are shot pretty good
my biggest complaint when it comes to the lore is the cameo scene of Mr. House and Frederick Sinclair. IMO they shouldn't even be in that meeting, and it goes completely against their respective stories in NV.
it's weird, i still like this show and i'm excited for the future, but there's a lot of things i have problems with and am worried about.
I totally agree it was very odd that sinclair was there. But i like to think house already had his own plans for the apocalypse and his presence didnt necessarily mean hes in league with them. Just that he was privvy to their plan

House can maybe make sense with that perspective, but I dunno. His presence and behavior in that scene really rubs me the wrong way. I was always under the impression in NV he genuinely didn't know about the state of the Great War and his calculation was just due to luck and his immense wealth & knowledge. But now either he's lying to the Courier and knew about the Great War all along (why would he lie? and how'd he get the platinum chip delivery wrong?), or he wasn't in on the conspiracy but was still present in the meetings.

Walton Goggins not getting into the lore or trying at all to learn anything before playing the Ghoul is a little annoying to me. He literally called Dogmeat (a character that has been in nearly every single game) MEATHEAD in an interview AND NO ONE CORRECTED HIM. Like how easy would those sort of things be for him to just brush up, it makes him come across as a smug ass who sees this as a paycheck!!. The Ghoul Character in my opinion is made for “non fallout playing, TV show watching” type people. Evident by himself literally saying he thought of this whole show as “A Western” 😑, and his fans are just as surface level and brain dead. He feels very performative on purpose and his cowboy shtick is cringe at best! The scenes with him pre-war are good though!

The only issue i have with the show is that fallout 4 and new vegas endings have been canonized or it's importance have been obliterated. Though it works for the themes of fallout and I worry I'm having old world blues.

awesome video. it really is suprising how the show is actually good honestly. Corny in a way that fits the game. It would be really cool if you have a section of your reviews that talk about the campyness and cornyness of the games. I feel its an important aspect that the games are loved for, even before bethesda got the IP. Whiles theres a lot of fallout retrospectives, i am excited for yours.

I watched it, i kinda liked it in some way, but defo didn't like the way they went with the lore and stuff, like the enclave being back randomly and vault tech being the bomb droppers, i think that was unnecessary to reveal. Sometimes i prefer things being unknown, I've seen some people talk about the NCR and the bombing, but the NCR could've still been fine for all sakes. Idk, what to think. Fallout at this point is ummm, something... to say the least, great vid my guy.❤
It's referenced in the first 2 original games that VT were the people who dropped the first bomb if i recall correctly.
The NCR is actually still OK, they've come out and confirmed that. It's only that Shady Sands was destroyed. Also it looks like Shady Sands was no longer the capital of the NCR due to some kind of decline since the sign Lucy and Maximus see says "fist capital of the NCR". Besides being confirmed as still around, it's not too hard to belive the NCR survived. Their capital is elsewhere and they still have a lot more territory than just Shady Sands. I don't want to get my hopes up too much, but I think we'll hear/see more in season 2.

Since they are going to new Vegas, maybe they are saving the t-51b power armor for the lost hills(I think that’s the name) chapter of the brotherhood, since they are closer to new Vegas than the chapter seen in the show.

Well to be fair, that's a bit different. Sonic has several continuities that span different games, so it's easy to say the movies are their own continuity. But Fallout is different since all the games share the same universe, not different continuities. So the show being canon isn't too wild.

the prydwen was never on the westcoast. was build between events of F03 and F04. on the eastcoast. construction literally only begun in 2078, this is like documented in F04 itself...

for me Fallout 3 is *easily* the worst mainline Fallout game. It really seems like most people are carried by nostalgia in favor of it but it has the worst "factions" with a retread of the Enclave and a very uncharacteristic Brotherhood (which has forever tainted their reputation as able to be good which it fundamentally cannot be considering it's literally an autocratic fascist police state). Its story has more flaws and stupid shit in it (Megaton and the ending and just the main plot problem in general) than 4 and it just looks and plays the worst in the franchise.

if Shady Sands was nuked in 2277 I think the events of New Vegas could still work if we either assume Kimball kept it a secret from the rest of the NCR or as an analogy to 9/11.
Sorry the fallout series is actually pretty bad, mary sue protagonist, retcons, men are portrayed mostly as either soy or stupid with only a few few exceptions, it's like like the creators dont care about what was before so they they retconned and made it there own (in there minds) screw the lore that the people researched and put time in, it's not good just look at the redflags

I love Fallout and thought the show was pretty great. When you go into TV adaptations of anything, there will always be things changed in some way or another. Besides Shady Sands, what was so drastically changed that makes you hate it?
I've played every Fallout game and I thought the show was awesome. I didn't really notice too many retcons, but let's be real here, every game since Fallout 2 has introduced retcons. That's just how things are since the universe is ever evolving. Still, I'm sorry to hear you didn't like the show.

I was overall very divided with this show. Really enjoyed some parts and some added stuffs. (The Vault-Tec ''Plan B'', made me laugh so hard.) But I found some stuffs a bit too much. Like the ''diversity'' stuffs and Mary-Sue feminist b.llsh.t in the first and the last episode. Also, I thought at the end of the show, it became too predictable. SPOILER. Like as soon as I saw Mr House in the operational room I was like: Ok, next season we will be visiting Mr House in New Vegas.
I can even predict how some things will be going. The big reveal will be that Mr House will have ''The Ghoul'' family cryogenated in some hidden Vault. So in exchange for the Vault location, the ghoul will have to betray his new friends to steal the cold fusion core for Mr House. ( The chip will be replaced with the Cold fusion core in the show) The Ghoul will betray Mr House in the end and kill him. And they will all go to the hidden vault for Season 3.
This show is trash. I don't have to watch it to know that. And all these "reviews" praising it because it isn't complete garbage shows you just how low our expectations have gotten. Someone could release a show about a jar of mayonnaise and people would praise it because "at least it isn't as bad as such and such show!"
