I find it interesting that Tony tried to reason with Starlord after it was revealed that Thanos killed Gamora. Kind of like when Cap tried to do the same when Tony found out that Bucky killed his parents.
I think it's more so because he doesn't want half the universe killed.

I agree that this is Thanos' movie, at the ending it even has the line "Thanos will return". That's usually there for the protagonist.
Im sure it was more to troll the audience seeing how the ending had half of the avengers dead by that point

Throughout the entire film, I was either smiling, laughing, crying or completely gobsmacked with how utterly well every character played off one another.
I loved it when Loki said "We have a Hulk" it just took me back to the first Avengers movie, when Loki said "I have an army" and Tony said "We have a Hulk"

Thanos is my personal favorite villain of the MCU now and this movie now my favorite of the MCU as well. Thor was fantastic. He felt like Kratos in the God of War the whole movie to me.

Cherry Nguyen Killmonger was good no doubt but he wasn’t Thanos. Thanos was menacing, he had a story, and he was a real threat Who actually won.
Strange knows, cause he's like: “We're in the endgame now.”
It's the reason why he gave thanos the stone, cause the 1 out of 14 million events prob involved either thanos winning or involved tony stark living.
KYPspikes yeah definitely, he knew the timeline they'd win had Tony living and him surrendering the stone, it was the only way.
Especially when Strange says "It is the only way." Before being wiped by Thanos.
I'm curious now though...would Strange's soul possibly survive the Fingersnap of Doom? Makes me wonder if he might have astral projected himself before he was erased and could actually stick around in some capacity.

During the movie, every missouri theater i know about so far has clapped when Peter Quill says he's from missouri, by the end we no longer claim him.
I think the humor element is so important because it shows they think they’re going to win. It’s not that they aren’t focusing it’s that they’re being themselves because that’s what has worked in the past.
If Star-Lord jumping backwards through the portal whilst throwing the bird doesn’t become a meme, then I have truly lost hope in humanity.

Charles Loftin The Hulk is literally scared of Thanos and knows what he’s capable of. He nearly got killed when fighting him which is why Bruce can’t transform because the Hulk is terrified that it will happen again.

The Soul Stone, the way it worked with the Soul World, it kinda worked like the heart-shaped orbs in Black Panther did. Person using the object is knocked into a dream-like world in which the character meets someone who gives him advice.

Theatre lost its shit when Groot and Spiderman got wiped from existence...PS how is Stormbreaker held together still if Groots severed arm was holding it together? Wouldn't that be wiped from existence as well?

but Groot was wiped from existence all of him. The handle would go with him even if its severed.
I think it’s because Thanos technically wipes out souls. Groot’s severed arm isn’t part of the physical vessel holding his soul anymore so it doesn’t disappear.
I'm just trying to remember if Bucky's vibranium arm disintegrated as well, but I'd like to point out that the clothes, costumes, and suits of the people also disintegrated which kind of defeats the whole soul claim meaning that severed arm should have disappeared.

I think the jokes help humanize the story. Humans naturally tell jokes in serious situations especially if they get desensitized to it. It helps them get through it.
theres evidence that joking especially in men was evolved to help them during tough times like war and hunting.

With Starlord, we have to remember that Ego killed his mom, the first lady he loved. Now the second lady he loved, Gamora, was killed by Thanos. Both deaths happen for very similar reasons...

So why is no one talking about the most obvious clue. Doctor Strange said there was only "one" way to win. and He was the one who gave up the stone meaning he know the way to win would include giving up the stone. This is classic story telling and its amazing. Thats the first thing that came to me after the movie. Doctor knew Thonas had to have the stone and do what he did to eventually win the battle against him.

I loved Thanos so much, he had emotion, drive, intensity and a objective that I could actually find my self agreeing with (till it actually happened)
But Thanos does enjoy fighting. Ebony Maw literally says in the beginning when Thanos takes on Hulk "Let him have his fun". I think that also kinda justifies why he doesn't completely rely on the infinity gauntlet to just reality stone everyone into cubes or bubbles immediately, he's having fun just slapping everyone around.

Thanos never actually got the reality stone, he just thinks he did because someone used the stone to make his mission a reality for him. Hes sat there in a dream world, he is going to be pissed when he realises.

Thanos has a line that goes something like 'These stones call out to me' so that might be a partial explanation.
