    You should have soldered that AC splice or used terminals. Wrapping it like that will cause major intermittent hard to diagnose problems later. Other than that, great job on providing good information.

    Great video--so helpful. Hate to throw this unit out! Questions: Why did you not just keep using the AC connector and cut the wire and then just solder/join the two new red/white harness wires with connector to that 4:53 in video. Easier to solder? What gauge wire? Also I see the comments mention the wiring needs to be switch top and bottom 6:04 in video so now i am confused about what goes where? (comment 2 years ago: Thanks for the answer. But actually you were half right. Bottom two in original spots and reversed the top two. It worked.) Do you have a current list of directions? I am going to try to do this to ig3000 this week. Not sure what pictures you keep referring to on your phone. Is it from a champion setup? How do you know which colour goes where? On your video it shows a red light where the fuse is for Protection. My light is not red. Could the fuse be faulty? Looks intact?

    Just completed the conversion 6/1/21. Wish the video was a bit sharper. The engine always was a 2 pull start but the htz went high from the inverter making clocks etc go way fast. Thanks

    Think you might have saved my ass I'm a Fix-It guy with no knowledge of inverter generator ran across one with no output with a motor and a new battery for fifty bucks so I bought it no output unplug the 6-pin and it has about 50 or 60 volts between each one of the black legs well spending the motor over on the starter without a spark plug in it and about a foot and a half across the two white wires don't see any obvious damage on the module I would expect something with that amount of current flowing through it will have a big hole in it for a failure at the very least a capacitor with the top blown off but nope I guess it's the other kind of failure I worked in the dirt bike shop for a lot of years most of them have CDI modules and sooner or later they all take a dump I had a big pile of them so one day I stuck them in a toaster oven to melt all the anti-tamper crap out of it I'm started checking parts all had bad switching transistors manufacturer bulshit building apart with a finite life expectancy so they can sell used parts that would never happen in a marine situation got that liability thing involved $500 for replacement part sucks swapping and something out of another unit I like that the number you gave cbe012207 did

    Didn't call Champion but I can't find the number anywhere mine is a Kipper 3500 which is the same as the 3000 I'm pretty sure du30 120 volts 60 hertz is that right?
    Do I need to go Champion to get the right part or can I get it someplace else. Thank for the help and kinda cool to know other people out there are smart enough to find the way around problems like this.

      At 2:00 I mention the number for champion and the part number. I would only buy this part from champion it really is a great deal for a 3000 watt inverter board unit it's by far the cheapest i've found after dealing with several brands. I even swapped one of those into a Honda. Call Champion power equipment : 562 236 9422 ask to talk to the parts department and tell them you just want to buy part# CPE012207 it should be just under $200 tax and shipping included. I wouldn't tell them about the plans to swap it to a Kipor they might not want to sell it. takes about 3-5 days to get the part in the mail. then follow my instructions. and yes the 3500s and 3000s are literally the exact same.

      I never had the chance to reverse engineer one of those. but maybe if either of you can send very detailed photos I can see if I can figure it out. Aren't those equipped woth 2 inverter boards?

      it may be similar but I am not sure. i think those 6k Kipors have 2 3k inverter boards in them

    Can't find a video for Bosco 2000watts inverter
    And sadly the module is not available in our country... are there any tricks on how to safely remove the epoxy resin so i can get in there and run diagnostics... thanks

      I know it's possible but it's not worth it. it's very difficult and after countless ours you can still break it in half and be left with nothing. email me a picture of the generator and inverter board. sometimes the generator is generic and all you need to do is use a different name when searching the brand

    Hi, I have the same generator as your video and ordered the Champion part number. I have wired everything as per your video. I am getting 168-170 volts when I tested it. Can you point me in the right direction as to what to check or why I am getting more than 120 v? Thanks! Great video!!

      did you try changing the spark plug? next thing I would check is the coil those are cheap enough to replace with a knockoff honda part. then I would look at the module that has the green run light. those command the spark as well. let me know how it goes and don't forget to like and sub!

      If it makes power ignore it. if it no longer revs up and down when the load is increased or when you take auto throttle off then the inverter board has gone bad and you will need a new one as they are sealed and impossible to repair

      the 220 V are probably a different part number. Don't quote me on this but everything should be about the same. exept for the output being different voltage and hertz

    Great videos! Very informative.. I recently started rebuilding old generators as something to keep myself busy.. Yesterday I traded a little 2-stroke generator for a Hyundai HY2800sei that wasnt running. After cleaning the carb and replacing a few of the gas lines.. it now runs.. the ECO switch seems to work, and the board is controlling the throttle.. but there is no output on the AC side.. there is voltage (~15) on the DC output. the overload light did come on at one point... i suspect the inverter board is bad.. do you think this board would work in it, or can you recommend a board that might? Or do you think it is a lost cause?

      Hi Michael! I hope you are subscribed! about the board it is usually easier to call the manufacturer of the generator you have and see how much their replacement board is. otherwise you are going to hav to reverse engineer a lot of wires and if that it's done correctly you can fry a good board

      Never a lost cause but it's just easier to buy the original inverter board, a different brand will only work after you reverse engineer all the connectors and then if you mess up on only one it will fry the board.

    You seem to have a good technical understanding of these systems. I have a Champion 100519 inverter module (6250 W, 240V) that's supposed to be low hours and working well... but I don't own a Champion generator. I'm trying to get the inverter operating on my electronics test bench, but Champion doesn't provide sufficient detail to bench-test their inverters. (I have an "alternative" use intended for the inverter.)
    Do you know if the inverter will operate with the throttle stepper motor UNPLUGGED from the inverter, and the generator in "Smart Throttle - OFF" mode? If it does still run and create electricity, then it might be something like one of the control signals. The "Smart Throttle" switch is also an unknown - is it OPEN or CLOSED when it's in the "Smart Throttle - ON" mode? There also seems to be a wire on the small 6-pin connector that they call "Hang in the air", which I'm assuming is a way to monitor the spark ignition.

      Hi there, I hope you are subscribed to the channel and gave this video a like, to answer your questions:
      Yes it will operate just fine without the stepper motor for the throttle connected.
      The circuit for the eco throttle is always open or in eco mode, until the circuit is completed by the button then it goes into full power sending a signal to the stepper motor and ramping up rpms. so if you don't do anything it should be fine because you will not have an engine that needs to ramp up RPMs to keep up with power demands.
      the wires for the 6 pin plug are: 2 of them are for the eco throttle circuit then 1 ground the rest are + for run light, overload, and low oil light. I've had this generator running and making power with all of those disconnected. so to bench test id say connect power to it and expect to see power on the other side. keep in mind 3 phase power goes into these generators it will be on the 3 wires that are of the same color on the plug coming from the generator the other 2 wires are lower voltage i thin DC the shop manual says what they are and what to look for. -Jonathan

    Thanks for the video. Very well done. Just completed the inverter board upgrade for my 2014 Polaris 3000ie (looks just like a Kipor). Followed your plug rewiring and fired it up. Engine no longer revs out of control and I have power to the output, but when I plug into it with load, the engine will not increase in RPMs. I can feel the throttle control pulsing when I manually advance the throttle, but it won't control to a demand via load. Any ideas?
    Also, the product number on your invoice when given to the folks at Champion produced a different configured board. I sent them a picture of the board as shown in your video to which they provided an exact match with a model # of CPE00847 (Item No. 83.221000.01). This board also has the same "OXO313" label on the board.

    I just fixed my kipor generator as per your video. It’s now producing
    AC. Great full to you and your video. But, I can’t get the carburetor plug right.
    I did replace the carburetor six months ago, and don’t know how it turns. I tried the kipor configuration
    And the champion configuration and both push the engine up against the limiter. Any ideas?

      Yes try this: revert the wires back to original on the stepping motor as if you hadn't changed anything yet. then swap the top row left to right and the bottom row left to right. id give you colors but since the carb was replaced along with the stepping motor it is possible that it has different colors. what I showed in this video is swaping the wires top left with bottom left and top right with bottom right but you already tried that and it made no difference right? so now try swaping top wires and bottom wires and it should work.

    Hello, I want to swap in a Champion module into my Yamaha 3000, do you know what the ac voltage requirement is from the Sub Coil on the KIPOR or Champion? The Yamaha is around 15 to 22 vac. The Yamaha has a 5 wire stepper motor so I will need to swap to a 4 wire.

    I have 2 of these Generators. One of them starts and runs but there is NO GREEN light and it is NOT revving up and down. I have the Champion inverter on order but will there still be something wrong after rewiring and using the new inverter?

      The Issue you mentioned sounds like a bad inverter. changing it should fix it.

    Just completed this repair on a Kipor KGE3000Ti. The green indicator light is not coming on and the test plug is indicating “open ground”. What do you think the problem is? Previously the generator was not producing power thus I assumed it was the invertir. Thx

    I bought the cpe012207 board and the wires on the generator aren't the same collor,the new board is different plugs,it runs fine and it generates power,the remote plug works fine for speed works fine,but the plug for the run,over load,and low doesn't work here are some pictures of the old and new boards,wire color code are different,can u tell me what is wrong,😮I can't find out how to send pictures

    Tengo un generador modelo IK 2600 h soy tecn y estuvo 1 año parado fui a entenderlo y nada procedí a limpiar el carburador y probar los swichs y la bujía no funcionaba la cambie y nada procedí a probarla y resulta que pasa la tension una vez y después no funciona la volví a cambiar y me hizo lo mismo pregunta será la tarjeta ?

      tiene aceite al nivel correcto? el aceite tiene un sensor que corta la chispa a la bujia si esta bajo.
      la computadora nunca corta el funcionar del motor. otras cosas por probar son el boton de "Run" si no cierra el circuito puede que corte la chispa.
      ultimo me fijaria en la igniccion que genera la chispa con el tiempo del motor. aveces se dañan por estar paradas

    Just bought one of these. And have old champion gen. But that gen is 2000 watts
    Does that matter it's lower wattage?

      yes it does i will work but you will only be able to use 2000 watts peak. the bigger engine shouldn't struggle at all but it would give you a false sense of security and you will fry that smaller board in no time. i recommend you buy the board I show on here.

    I have a question for my ig3000. It’s putting out power and I can run tools and stuff off of it. However, it won’t run the a/c on my camper and other 3000 generators can. Any ideas?

      it's prob worn out. also its an older design. id recommend you sell it for what you can while it still makes power and get a predator 3500 inverter Gen at harbor freight. those work great!

      @@immortalengines1605 My unit also has an 8 pin connector to the inverter module and the wires appear to go through the wiring harness to the motor's alternator. It has 2 black, 2 blue, 2 red, and 2 yellow wires instead of the 6 pin connector with 3 black and two white like is shown in your video. Any suggestions for how to identify which of these wires to connect into the champion 6 pin connector? On the champion, I think the 3 black wires go to the main winding and the two white wires go to the sub winding. But not sure how to tell which of the black, blue, red, or yellow wires are the wires that go for 3 black wires for the primary, and which are the wires that go for the 2 white wires for the the sub winding.

    I have a kipor ig4300 12v 5amp/ 120v twin plug 20amp / 120v 30amp twist-lock/ 120v-220v mfna 33.8amp-17.9amp 4 blade plug. So the closest inverter board I could find was champion (100519) 6500w with a 125v/250v 17.9a setup. $234.18 part# 30043-YBE0111-0000 20/240V 30A Locking (L14-30R), GFCI 120V 20A Duplex (5-20R) (2), 12V DC Automotive 110v 41.7a/ 220v 20.8a probably going to be close enough. Less than 20% differential. 277cc vs 301cc so 7% smaller. 5.5hp vs 6hp. Any thoughts? Ideas?

      only issue I see is that the wires may be different and you might find it difficult to reverse engineer them. it's also not very forgiving wire it wrong once or twice and it will be fried. but I would give it a shot

    I had to stop at "residual power in the windings" or 3:08 as your are not making sense at this point. Furthermore, electronics don't just go bad.. someone messed with it or it got wet, plain and simple. I would only do this hack if you already have a used champion inverter laying around. How is your sister's genset running today?

    Hi I got kipor inverter generator ID6000 220v it's not giving power just want to know what is input volt for inverter from winding now I'm getting in 3 wires from winding 169 volt AC each wire to wire test

      Roughly 220V AC between the 3 wires of the same color. if the engine RPM is slow when you test it can be less like the 169 V you mentioned. I would say the inverter board is bad at that point.

    I ordered the number he said and got “control unit 120v/60hz , wireless parallel”. The board does not look the same it has 6 connectors and there in different spots

    Will this board work? I can get it for 160 tommarow.
    Only thing I'm not sure about is the dual input plugs...the alternator is the same. Right? 3 sets of wires. 3 outputs..both are 220
    I guess the board has 2 outputs..each one is 110 and they are 180* out of phase to make 220 or each one separate goes to one side of the output and the other side is common..neutral ground?
    And to install that board I would match the plug? Trying to get this thing running..its freekin 110* + here and onan generator is a major gas hog
    All bike thieves must die...nothing but low life dirt bags...and will probable be an ongoing problem with 600 cc bike deal.. bunch of kids crashing and stunting and no money to buy parts..
    I ride a 98 honda blackbird...ain't nobody gonna steal it..nobody knows what it is...you ever get a change to ride one..do it...I probably road 500+ bikes over the years..zx14 busaa oanagale with a factory track kit..used to own a boss hoss..built a GPS 900 with a 1200 daytona motor and 17" zx750 suspension...blackbird is in a different class..dead ass smooth, non adjustable suspension..because it dont need it..has 3 of them...one I have now has several tune mods..stone stock exhaust and runs 191 gps on 89 octane..1100 rpm in first, pin the throttle..no clutch..rev limiter is 1175 and 72 mph in first..,2.6 seconds..best wind coverage of anything I ever rode..600 mi day ain't nothing..I did a run from salt lake city to lake havasu..600 mi..8 hrs..165hp stock..its sport tour so insurance isn't bad...I'm into the one I have now about 2 grand..

      The part number I gave you is the same one i mention and use in the video.my goal was to make this easy to replicate by my viewers. If by dual input plug you mean the plug coming from the stator with 5 wires then yes as I show in the video you do not need to change anything .that one is plug and play. I must mention to proceed at your own risk and be sure to watch this video at least one more time beginning to end so that you are aware of what it will be like.
