Just subscribed. Great channel. Been hooked about a week now. Have a fairly built c-10 and have already bought three rigs for my nephews. The 1:24 scale is so accessible. Thanks for being a great ambassador of the sport and telling it like it is
Thanks so much for the sub! That’s definitely what makes the 1/24s so fun. They are a little cheaper so you can afford to get others involved and you can take them everywhere! I mean….. I took mine to Disney 😆
Thanks again, Matt! Due to your reply in the other video, I found this one. Think I've found my next set of tires! Ordering the V4 Flubberstufferz to go with them. Damn, that's an expensive set of "foams" but the idea sounds interesting, so...
@@2fmrc No, they're not! Jiminy Cricket! But, it's only money, right? I won't be building as many of these little rigs as you (yeah right!), but this is my "no holds barred" build so... Already have my "scale" build in the C10 (stock body other than patina paint job, but with significant mods otherwise), and will be doing an even more scale build with my FCX "farm truck" soon (yep, love the old truck look). But, wanted one small scale rig built purely for performance, or at least my version of performance. Don't even plan to add up the price (that would be a BAD idea!), but looking forward to getting started!
I purchased the jconcepts land mine and they were trash. I did pick the power hobby tires up and I used the green foam from the jconcenpts which is a bit smaller but much stiffer..almost acts as a dual.stage. love the results so far. thanks for the videos you post!
Both about the same so far. These are wider so personally I don’t like the look as well but they are insanely sticky and work great. Those 2 are definitely my favs atm
Included foams. Slime ballz are good but for the money I don’t really think they are needed on most tires. Mostly the softer sidewall tires like scramblers. Usually not enough weight on these rigs for me to justify them with most of my other tires.
Well, after waiting a MONTH for my Trail Warriors to arrive, and untold frustration with Power Hobby, eBay, and USPS, I finally gave up and had to resort to requesting a refund through PayPal. Then, I decided to find another source for the tires. Out of stock everywhere now... 😞 Soooo... can you recommend a second place contender for a large 1/24th scale crawler tire? Something actually obtainable? Thanks, Matt!
Well I don’t know how obtainable they are but the Injora pin tires are some wicked beast! They are killing my indoor course. I just ordered another set from amazon but unfortunately they say they won’t be here until around the end of the month! Crazy how these companies can’t keep enough in stock.
I was literally just looking at those when I saw you had replied. But yeah, delivery end of August or early September... 👎 I've had hundreds of $$$ worth of parts sitting in a box for over a month waiting on the damn Trail Warriors to arrive so I can build this thing. Not really interested in waiting another month waiting on tires. Just want some decent large tires for this build. And unfortunately, I don't have the vast overabundance of tires, wheels and spares as some since this is only my second SCX24 build. Just trying to settle on something that'll be suitable and that I can get like, this century...
Ha! Great minds and all that! Was literally just about to try to find a set of Scramblers... GEESH! May have to backburner this build after all, and move on to something else... 😮💨
I run my front tires backwards a lot. In my head they seem to do better lol. I have the Injora internal spring shocks on the front in a forced droop setup with some double barrels on the rear. Keeps the front planted and tight for side hills etc but allows a ton of flex when needed.
Trail warriors or the new injora which should I order for my all out build it's an Akers chassis limo style gladiator rear links and c10 rears up front so I need the biggest stickiest tire possible!

What can I do to prevent looping out? Seems like if my back tires get caught on any sort of lip with a lot of grip it flips backwards. I got a pretty good weight bias going on too… 90% of the time if my truck ever ends up on its back, it’s because it looped out.
Do you have overdrive gears installed? If not I would definitely do that. That helps the front dig and pull in a bit more before the rear can loop you out. I put the treal 2/13 in the front of all of mine. amzn.to/3OhtZAs
