Wow. Thank you for the most interesting reaction to Eden I’ve seen so far. Interesting, intelligent and enlightening. I have happily subscribed and look forward to many more interesting conversations. We are Renegades. We are all different. Different nationalities, different customs, different generations, different beliefs but we are all on the same journey through an increasingly wicked world. We are all learning that we can disagree without malice. We can debate from a place of love. We can be better. We can stop being pushed around by a hyper-rich minority and we can work together to make a fair and just society. To find our way again. G. #Renegade #RenMakesMusic ✊🏼🐷❤️‍🔥

I very much like your reactions. This was the end of a game that Ren set up that every day dove into one of the Seven Sins. Where possibly thousands of people from all over worked together as this magical collaboration and ending with Greed, had a twist and then this played, just moments prior to the release of Money Game 3. It was such a pleasure to be a part of. It never entered my mind to question whether Ren had the story 100% accurate to my beliefs but to just be amazed that this musician would bring so many wonderful values to the forefront in a time when we desperately need it.
On the last day of the Money "Game" Ren changed the rules, he said it was no longer a collective, it was each man for himself for a huge prize. We were no longer suppose to share information and help each other and when we thought we had the answer we would email it and the winner would be notified. In this he spoke of how we had accomplished so much in the attempt to win money and I was never more proud of the fact that I had sent my email in at the beginning of the day saying, I would not be entering the final day for the prize money because the biggest gift I had received already by working with the amazing people I had met through Ren. That the money meant nothing compared to the experience and then spent the day once again helping brainstorm and try to find answers with my friends. When the twist in the game came that the last lesson was about greed, it felt like a test that I passed and it brought me so much joy to know this about myself.
Sorry, sometimes the amazing journey my life has taken since being inspired by Ren just feels like it needs sharing.

I so agree with you, I played (as much as my knowledge could) but watch and learned so much, I was so excited buy watchiing all of us working togueter and the day that some one said that they would let the lady win so she can get her pet to the vet I broke in tears, overwelmed by so much of humanity, Ren was bringning the best out of us to show us what we can do. He is not telling what we can do and should do, he is reveling us to us. I love sociology and I love Ren 🙂

There were a number of us, myself included, that vowed from the jump that if we won anything, we'd donate the entire amount to either a charity or the RNLI for Joe in Ren's name. If I remember correctly, at least one of the winners actually did just that. We all understood that far beyond the game or the immediate message was the wonderful community experience that we all grew and participated in. ❤

Great reaction! I just scrolled through the comments to see if I could find any hate. I didn’t see any. We Renagades are pretty open minded, and we are many. We represent all faiths and even the lack of faith. We tend to respect anything that isn’t destructive. The more I’ve gotten to know rens fans, the more I believe in them. Maybe I’m being a bit odd here, but I’m so proud to be part of that community. I’m sorry for gushing about them on your channel, but, we focus so much on Rens music, struggles, and message, that we don’t stop enough to say, “what an absolutely amazing and beautiful group of people.” I love all of you.

In perspective of secular humanism and how people should have the freedom to believe anything they want and express themselves, but not to preach and agitate, we could live together peacefully and respect each other. That's the essence of how our society, we, should live of. We don't have to accept (in the sense "Okay, you're right.") every worldview and we don't have to love everyone (what's neither possible nor suitable), but to respect.

@@teckreactions Well, I disagree with him. "Spiruality" is a choice, not a must to be happy and dying is part of life anyways. And why you shift the goalpost anyway? I talked about freedoms and happiness defines every person for himself. By the way, arguments by authorities don't count as facts or even evidence. When I talk about acceptance and respect, you come up "Oh, you have to have spirituality in your life", because this and that. Who's the intolerant here, me or you? You're the one who wants a world where everyone is like You. No thanks! I want a world where everyone is free to believe what ever he wants without indoctrination, doing no harm to others and respect others.
I want to know as much right things and less wrong things as I can. How about you? Spiritualism is grounded in the supernatural, what has no feet in reality nor is there evidence for it. That's why I reject those things entirely. Believe what you want and be happy with it, but don't preach it to others. Bye.

Great commentary. As another agnostic, I would never fault you for your more literal interpretation of his interpretation. From my "outside" perspective, I would agree with his interpretation of God being lonely because there is no other god... only one from the Christian perspective. Regardless, yes, the back half of this was phenomenal, regardless of what you think of the front end. I put outside in quotes because I grew up Methodist, switched to Baptist when my parents divorced, and I graduated from a Presbyterian high school. I've studied other religions here and there. This is a quote I'll get wrong which I heard from Ren in an interview... I assume he's more well read than I am in likely more religions... "I'm not opposed to believing in God, but I do have quite a few questions to ask." I'm sure he said it better.

The Money Game was the best promotion I have ever seen for music or anything else for that matter. It was truly an incredible and fun way to connect fans. Ren was having so much fun preparing the games, that he kept forgetting to promote his album 😂. Like you, I disagreed with the interpretation of the story of Eden, but his end point was spot on. I hope you watch an interview with Ren at some point (even if on your own time) because you will see the autheniticity, empathy, and humor that we love in Ren's music is just who he is. Its always rough to watch a relgious person watch the first 1/2 of this. I never knew how fragile peoples faith was. Its an opinion people, that's all what religion is, an interpretation. Everyone will have their own opinion. I don't think Ren is wrong, maybe with your particular interpretation he is, but who are we to judge. Its also an art piece, not to be taken as a sunday school lesson. Peace

    • @teckreactions
      @teckreactions  2 місяці тому +13

I understand your point. Firstly, I don't consider myself "religious" in the traditional sense. I see religion more as a human-created framework aimed at reaching God through our efforts. However, the Bible conveys that God reached out to us by giving us Jesus Christ, eliminating the need for us to earn our salvation. This perspective suggests that religion might obstruct the reception of this unearned gift.
Regarding the "art piece," it represents the artist's take on a narrative that seems quite straightforward. My extensive focus on theological aspects was solely to address the clarity of the story being interpreted.

Mikey everyone has to judge what they believe to be true. Ren's description of the nature of God rejects 2000+ years of Christian views on the nature of God and 5784 years of Jewish analysis of what the Hebrew words that were translated into English mean. I know that Ren at age 17 took a position against evil (Hi Ren) and that he had some form of Anglican theology growing up. Of course he is welcome to have a different view, but he selected Eden as the title and setting...implying some truth from that story. While the first half is flawed the second half is the usual brilliant analysis of the nature of man and our problem in the current state. Love Ren, love all Renegades, and love this review.

This! So much this. The number of times recently I have said to people, I don't know enough from either side of the trans issues to have an opinion, but from my vantage point sitting on the fence, the one thing I can see clearly, is that unless people in both sides stop screaming at each other, I can't see how it will be resolved, and for people like me, as a gay man I feel like I should have an opinion, I feel like I should be supportive - but both sides just seem so toxic - that I don't want to willingly stick my toe in that water. I picked trans issues here as a current example, but it applies across the board. We have cancel culture rather than sitting down and discussing things. People now struggle to accept when other people that they know hold different political (or even ideological) viewpoints to them. Perhaps it's my autism, I'm not sure - but I don't understand the logic - "you think differently to me, therefore we can no longer be friends" - I mean what? Does no one think that sounds a bit.... Petty?

🙏TLDR: I apologize up front for the essay... essentially I argue below that there is room for multiple scenarios, where Ren could be right, you could be right, or even both. I appreciate your commentary and perspective on this, and the Renegades are typically very open to honestly speaking your mind. I don't claim to be a Biblical scholar, however I grew up Catholic in the Church, attended Sunday school through my Confirmation, so I do have some understanding of the subject. So if I may offer up a few counterpoints and a theory, hopefully to spark conversation,
Regarding two of your points, that:
    1) God cannot lie
    2) God did not condemn Adam and Eve to death (in the context of death as an immediate punishment vs an eventual consequence)
I'll address #2 first, as there are contradictions in the Text that might appear to lead to a contradiction of #1 (but I have a theory on how to resolve this). MOST (5 out of 7 listed below) of the most-read versions of the Bible specifically state that Adam and Eve would die *on the day* that they eat of the forbidden fruit. This includes the King James Bible, which is believed to be the most accurate to the original source, and has been the most popular English-language version for the past 400+ years.
In fact, going all the way back to the oldest texts on the subject, the Dead Sea Scrolls [~300 BCE-20 CE], although they do not contain the full account of what we know of as the Book of Genesis, what remains in the fragments does indeed include the relevant section, and does specify imminent death *on the day* that the fruit is eaten. Even though the scrolls existed outside of time and influence, and there are some occasional differences in details with official accounts of events elsewhere in the Masoretic Text (the authoritative source for the 24 Books of the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh)), the accounts of this specific passage about the consequences of eating the forbidden fruit are in alignment.
This suggests that point #1 could be incorrect, because Adam and Eve did not in fact die that day, but were banished from the Garden with the burden of their newfound knowledge.
    **Personal Speculations**
    1) I believe the concept of "lies" arguably requires the event/subject of the "lie" to be in the past. Even misleading statements require a previous determination of the outcome of events to come. This leads to a couple of possibilities, either God was speculating and was wrong -OR- if God is believed to be infallible, perhaps God *changed His mind*, something He has been recorded as doing many, many times over in the Old Testament.
    2) What if "death" didn't refer to mortality in this context, but instead rerferred to something like "spiritual death", "dead in God's eyes" (i.e. separation from God), or even their banishment itself**. In any of these scenarios God hasn't lied and wasn't wrong in any of the Biblical versions below. But what about human mortality? What if Adam and Eve were *created* mortal? Up until the eating of the forbidden fruit, the subject of their actual mortality is never discussed, and at no point in the Bible does it ever say they are actually "immortal". Remember that to that point, Adam and Eve had no concept of human mortality, they'd never experienced punishment, and they'd never experienced deceit.
** Depending on your beliefs, there may be precedence for this interpretation of "death" (meaning banishment) in the stories of Lucifer's banishment from Heaven as well as Lilith's banishment from the Garden, Adam's supposed first wife.
As witten in Genesis 2:16-17, they all contain text concerning the rest of the Garden, similar to:
[2:16] And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat (KJV)
    , then:
    1) King James Version (KJV) [1611]
[2:17] But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for *in the day* that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
    2) New International Version (NIV) [1885]
[2:17] but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
    3) English Standard Version (ESV) [2001]
[2:17] but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for *in the day* that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
    4) New King James Version (NKJV) [1982]
[2:17] but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for *in the day* that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
    5) Amplified Bible (AMP) [1965]
[2:17] but [only] from the tree of the knowledge (recognition) of good and evil you shall not eat, otherwise *on the day* that you eat from it, you shall most certainly [a]die [because of your disobedience].”
    5) The American Standard Version (ASV) [1901]
[2:17] but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for *in the day* that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
    6) New Living Translation (NLT) [1996]
[2:17] except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.”
    7) Christian Standard Bible (CSB) [2017]
[2:17] but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for *on the day* you eat from it, you will certainly die.”

Interesting clarifications, appreciate the nuance. As an acknowledged agnostic I would only suggest that "perhaps," "could assume", and "maybe" is not a statement of fact, just interpretation, so "not true" may be more accurately called "not a traditional interpretation," which is a fair assessment but not necessarily "not true" or "not correct." "One dimensional" is a bit strong for me, as the typical reading of biblical verses are often limited by the absolute assumptions that all philosophical arguments, including religious philosophy , are based on. Again, tho, respect your openness and for the understanding of issues I have to re consider based on your explanations.

The fact that he’s an agnostic means we can take the inconcistencies with biblical canon as a plot device to take us towards his actual point, rather than the ultimate truth itself.
Ultimately, Ren isn’t a biblical scholar, so we can’t really expect him to get everything right.
And in the end, it is up to us as individuals to uncover the truth where falsehoods have consequences we’re unwilling to face.
If we let the inaccuracies of the story blind us to its actual message, resulting in us arguing too much about his biblical interpretation, we’re basically forcing the responsibility to understand the bible unto Ren, abandoning our own responsibility to learn.
This is why I love your video.
Contesting false claims with your own knowledge, and then going on to listen to what the other person is saying, instead of what you want to believe they’re saying.
That’s how to use your free speech to get our human hivemind closer to more accurate knowledge, and ultimately, the truth.

He also never says that Humans and Lucifer share the same fate, but that we share similar fates which cannot be untrue because the word similar is ambiguous.
Anyway, thank you for your insightful commentary. Much love from Canada!

I feel that Ren grew up with a religious upbringing, yet through his experiences of disease wracking through his body and mind has led him to self introspection about his personal faith. It is expressed in his art, and no particular song explains the whole journey. A listen and thinking about a large part of his catalog gives snippets of his faith, including the human experience as it relates to God. Ren is also using his Free Will to highlight that which much of society chooses to ignore in various ways. Ren often shares observations about humanity. Humanity's challenge is to overcome Monkey Brained Tribalism.

My favorite author is Ted Dekker. He writes spirtual truth, couched in supernatural thrillers. He always brings the story back to redemption and sanctification.
I'm currently reading a devotional he wrote (a detour from his normal writing), call The Forgotten Way. He writes about our identity in Christ. He aligns his writing very closely with scripture, and yet I see my self doubt rise up over and over again, bucking against the glorious, ridiculous, radical grace that has been bestowed on us. To root our identity in Him - to sit in the seat reserved for Him (seated with Him in heavenly places) - to inherit and rule with Him... all of it seems wild.
Anyway. I think you'd enjoy it.

I played Ren's money Game. It was set up as an online riddle game in the run up to the release of his song Money Game pt 3. It was complex and had puzzles that were way out of my wheelhouse but the rules of the game were to work together to find the answers until the final riddle which was then every man for himself. And so we did work together (I know nothing about computer coding but the people who did bouyed the ones that didn't) and my shortcomings were less meaningful because as a team I was raised up by the other players. Ren's Money Game lasted 7 days and each day the riddle was based on one of the 7 deadly sins. The first to answer the riddle won £1000 each day. The final riddle was every man for himself as I mentioned and the winner of that day was sent on a scavenger hunt that we all could watch as a live stream. It was an amazing game and "Eden" was released right after the scavenger hunt live stream ended ❤

"forcing someone to love you is not love".
"love me or burn in hell for eternity".

    • @teckreactions
      @teckreactions  2 місяці тому

I admit. It doesn’t feel fair. But the opposite of eternity in heaven must have an opposite. If we don’t choose to be in relationship with Him, our souls still go somewhere eternally. Either in the presence of God (Heaven) which is our choice. He will never force Himself upon us. Or in eternal separation from Him, which is hell. Unfortunately, sin cannot exist in God’s presence so we’re destined for hell unless we cross the bridge (willingly) to cleanse that sin through Jesus.
God doesn’t send people to hell. It’s our choice. He presents us with choices and we make them.
If the stovetop burner is on, I have a choice to touch it or not. Nobody forced me to touch it. I chose to. And there’s a consequence for each action.

    • @tommoxjr

But God made hell, for the”damned” to go to. He didn’t need to do that. Satan didn’t create hell, only God can create. Church destroyed my faith…three times : once, when I was abused by an Anglican Vicar, again, when I became a youth worker at a baptist church and a new minister decided to covert the church into a Hillsong style money-making venture and hurt a number of my very good friends and colleagues, and finally, when I came to Australia, another “charismatic” church (that had a cappuccino machine roster!) when the very wealthy donor of 2 expensive Italian coffee machines answered my query as to why nurses such as myself shouldn’t be paid as much as coffee rosters like him, with the statement “God needs you to understand humility in order to be a good nurse, which you may not do if life was too easy for you”. Bollocks to it!

    • @teckreactions
      @teckreactions  2 місяці тому

@@tommoxjr I'm incredibly sorry you went through that. Nobody should have to, and it especially should not come from people claiming to follow Jesus. I'm sorry.
Regarding Hell, yes, God created it. He created it specifically for Satan and his demons. It's also the final destination for those who reject Christ. Hell is a place where God's presence does not reside. There has to be an opposite to eternity in God's presence. That opposite is hell. We can not like it, but it's a reality that exists. He gave us a way to avoid it through Jesus and I'm grateful for that. At the end of the day, we get to exercise our free will to spend eternity with Him or not.

    • @davidperkins6752

@@teckreactions i can accept the argument that there is a need for an "opposite to Gods presence" though, to be clear, only within a given context and solely for the purpose of argument. what i absolutely refute is the concept of free will. there can be no free will with a gun to the head.
furthermore, what we're actually talking about is the idea that our loving creator has a special place where he will send you in which you will be tortured for eternity. pain without end. for the crime of not believing in the existence of a being who refuses to prove his existence.
as you pointed out in your response to tommoxjr, God created hell specifically for Satan and his demons. he chose to include human beings, who he knowingly created as flawed beings, on the hell guest list.
the only conclusion i can draw from this information is that your God is either exceptionally cruel or not nearly as clever as his P.R. team big him up to be.

    • @teckreactions
      @teckreactions  2 місяці тому

@@davidperkins6752 Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I can relate to your experiences with the Bible before I fully embraced my faith in Jesus. Acknowledging and believing in God's presence is essential, as it is the foundation for understanding the consequences of sin and the significance of obedience.
The unfortunate reality is that sin sets us on a path toward separation from God, which is why hell is considered humanity's default state. Conversely, attaining heaven is not an entitlement but a gracious gift that must be accepted through faith. God's desire for reconciliation with all people led to the establishment of a path to redemption through Jesus. Faith, as described in Hebrews 11:1, is the "substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Our human nature, tainted by sin, prevents us from fully perceiving God's majesty and glory, which are beyond our comprehension and unsafe for us to behold in our flawed state. In terms of proving His existence, I believe God has made and continues to make Himself known. He reveals Himself through creation, human conscience, His Word, and Jesus Christ. The first two reveal His presence in a general sense, while the latter two provide a more personal, profound, and complete understanding.
In the realm of science, which adheres to the Law of Cause and Effect, there's a consistent affirmation of biblical truths. Every effect traces back to a cause, leading to the philosophical and theological concept of an Uncaused First Cause, or God.

So, she sent us to a COE school as ahe felt they embraced and would teach us about all religions. I have also attended Buddhist classes and my daughter went to a Catholic school. Rather than make a choice, I now state my religion as 'of the heart' as I have faith but it stems from many. I follow a path of good intentions, and take responsibility if i make mistakes. @@teckreactions i respect your views and beliefs and whatever problems i personally have with those are irrelevant in your comment section imo but what many fail to realise is wether or not ren is “factually correct” or not doesn’t matter. he is an artist and he is making art and this is an ARTPIECE with a strong message, he isn’t a pastor holding a sermon, he isn’t making a report or making a claim and presenting this as facts , he is using the story of eden as a way to drive towards his point, his message and he is free to reimagine it however he could possibly think of as it is /Art/. it doesn’t even have to necessarily be what he believes the story to be, he couldve told it to be god as the sinner and the devil to be jesus while believing the fairy godmother to be our creator, it doesn’t matter as it is art to explore a topic that we need to open our eyes to. the second part however is 100% what he believes and is passionate about. i think he is using the story of eden in particular i think is because of that very thing you called out christian’s for, if you don’t take adult responsibility for your own actions and instead blame bad behaviour on a separate entity (using the devil as a scapegoat) is exactly the problem that got us where we are (and ofc not only bc of christian’s to be clear lol) and what you said at the end about not thinking it’s something that’ll ever change is why it won’t ever change. we give up before even trying. and we can lean on our belief systems but even when we’re gone we still have to leave our children to this world and at this rate we’ll truly leave them in hell on earth.
thank you for the call out, that increased my respect for you even more. it’s been something that’s really bothered me with christian religion along with doing the “right thing” / choosing not to sin out of fear of rejection at the gates of heaven- but if that’s the reason is it even a good deed anymore? if one chooses to do good, not for the sake of doing good but because one fears the consequences is a selfish act. one who chooses to do good just because they want to do good is much more commendable imo. anyways we can agree to disagree on stuff because as you said no one is here to convert anyone

2 Timothy 2:13 reinforces this by asserting God's faithfulness even when we are faithless, as He cannot deny Himself.

I respect where you are coming from with being true to the bible; however, you cannot tell me a book supposedly written over 2000 years ago is word for word what GOD actually said. All of this is in interpretation from the an interpretation by the council of Nicea under Constantine the Great. The current bible was "edited" by the various church aristocracy across the empire and approved by the emperor himself. Who knows what was in the original, who knows what was added to aid in the strengthening of the official Roman Catholic Church in order to help the emperor bind his empire together. This is why I roll my eyes when I hear according to scripture which is GOD's words verbatim. Love your reaction! Cheers!

    • @teckreactions
      @teckreactions  2 місяці тому +2

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I value your insight.
Indeed, human involvement often raises questions about the reliability of information. The Council of Nicea was convened to address growing disputes within church leadership, primarily focusing on Christ's nature, the correct date for Easter, and other minor issues. This was a critical time when the weakening Roman Empire was struggling with internal divisions due to theological disagreements, with the central argument concerning the nature of Christ.
The Council of Nicea did not create new doctrines about Christ. It confirmed the apostolic teachings about who Christ is-God incarnate and the second person of the Trinity, alongside the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Furthermore, I hold the Bible in high regard, as Timothy describes it as "God-breathed." It's a divine inspiration for humans to record what God directed them to write. This concept is profound and often challenging for our limited understanding. It's also significant to note that we still have access to original scrolls, which bolsters our understanding and the authenticity of biblical texts.
Moreover, my personal relationship with God is profoundly real and meaningful. It's dynamic, authentic, and deeply special. The Bible reinforces this connection, affirming the faith I experience.
      Appreciate you, my friend.

Great Reaction TECK, pleaes do more REN. Money Game is on your list but do not forget that he has a ton of stuff. Renegades are just super excited about Money Game 3. I would love to hear your reactions still for the series: Freckled Angels; Dominoes; Suicide; and For Joe. That serious is related but not knowingly by the names. I loved your comments in the last video and in this one too. PLease DO keep it up.
As with REN, I am agnostic too. However, while I discount the works of man, i.e. the Bible, Koran or other writings, I do believe in a higher being or authority. I just cannot fathom belief based on anything other than what is inside me. Good and evil are inside each of us. How we express that outside our minds, be it moral, values, beliefs, teachings, practice or what not, is an expression of our individual goodness. That is what I believe. Perhaps if I were to name my God, I would look to 'Hi Ren' where Ren says, '"Some people know me as HOPE". That one bar shocked me the most when I heard it. Ren speaks to the internal battle and eventually finds balance inside himself. I am writing about the external expression of goodness alone. I seek HOPE. When I am gone, if my soul spreads through the quantum foam or I find myself under the gaze of God, I will not regret.

Someone else might have chimed I with this, but the line that God created us for His eternal pleasure, implies that God has desires and a desire is defined by the wanting of more than you currently have. It is mentioned many times in the Bible, the desires of God. This is a logical interpretation of the words as written in the bible. I would also like to point out that the concept of the Trinity is relatively new within Christian faith and is predominantly an American doctrine. Many Christians outside of the US don't recognize the Trinity and so from the prospective of a single God, loneliness is completely possible.

Ren said that he is spiritual but not religious in an interview. I think it is important to understand that when listening to his music/art. Lost All Faith is good song that helps understand Ren and his faith. What I don’t know is if Lost All Faith is just a snapshot of his feeling in a dark place or a larger description of his beliefs. Most likely, it is a bit of both.
I think the thing people miss is that to God, death may not be death in the physical sense. Separation from God is also death. Adam and Eve lost a perfect relationship with God; spiritual death. Eve saying God lied demonstrates her complete corruption.

What Ren said in the first half of the video is an interpretation of the events of Genesis. Remember, modern Christianity is something that evolved from Jesus' teachings, but it been influenced by other religions ever since. Jesus' teachings can be summed up in a few short paragraphs. Everything else was put there by man. I'm an agnostic, and I've studied religion for the better part of 20 years now. I believe everyone is entitled to their own interpretation of religion, and none of them are wrong. What's right for one person may be completely wrong for another. It's the aspiration to be like something greater than yourself that's important. If your religion helps you to do that, then it's right for you, as long as it doesn't also teach you to condemn others for their own beliefs.
