ive been watching this man draw since i was like 10 and im 23, please keep making content
Dexxa SAME OMG
Your 23 and you don’t know how to make a capital letter in the beginning of the video?
@@p1ulto.5x *You're (and *your comment)
If you are going to criticise like that then be on the standard you want them to be.
Thinking Machine big oof
Me too!
There's something special about your videos,
it's odd, and i don't know how to explain it but whenever i'm sad or depressed, watching one of your videos makes me so happy
it's like watching a bob ross video.
Thank you
Otonashi Yuzuru I agreee!!
Agreed! Exactly!
Me : *starts practicing perspective with ruler*
Markcrilley: I'm about to change this man's whole career
The details are just mind-blowing!!!
Mind... Blowing!!!!!!
This technique is going to save my life!
When I was making my comic pages, the vannishing point was often out of the page and it was very hard to make perspective like that.
But now I discovered that is possible to make without vanishing point or ruller.
Thank you very much!
It's funny that you published this video, this is a perfect timing ! I am working on the exact same subject matter right now ! Thank you for uploading ! Take care of yourself !
Love seeing this channel still going so strong years later. I used to follow your tutorials religiously in the 4th grade as a 10 year old, just realizing her passion for art. Now, I’ve just finished my first year of college and I’m still here! Amazing channel.
I got the notification for this and I immediately clicked. I’m working on some backgrounds and backgrounds have always been my weakness.
OMG I NEEDED THIS. What perfect timing, we're doing this at school right now!
You have school? Lmao
Derpykilla yeah over zoom 😂😭
Us too bambidays
That timelapse was just the right speed, and so smooth.
Love the tan paper and how you bring it out with the beloved white gouache.. Always here to support you mark!
Drawing white on off-white or brownish paper is one of my favorite effects....love the little box track trucky thing.
Yeah, it really does look super cool.
this is so helpful! i always struggled with doing low and high perspectives and this will totally change my game
This was really helpful! Thank you for sharing it with us ☺️✨
Love the details. Every time when I concentrate my drawing's details, I simply forget everything else from outside. 😂
Great video as always Mark!
Man I'm like 10 seconds in and I gotta come clean. You have been there for my entire artistic journey and I'm coming back to you again while I work on a comic. It's crazy to me to think I've been watching your videos for nearly a decade, hell a few years back my family got me some of your how to draw books just out of pure coincidence. You're honestly one of the best teachers out there, thank you for doing what you have been doing for so long.
I dunno seeing somebody still at something after a long time fills me with butterfly's in my belly. UA-cam is a harsh platform and has spit out countless creators, but occasionally you find those that have been riding that storm the whole way and instead of being a nostalgic memory you look back on it's an ever burgeoning and expanding experience.
Also I suck at perspective so I'm gonna need this bad.
Awesome video Mark !!
I could've used this video years ago. Definitely adding it to my art tips playlist.
Just thought about the how to draw manga vids from 10 years ago and found your channel again. Got excited when I saw the Ticonderoga.
Love the hinges.
Ahh yes!!!!! A vid without Rulers don't get me wrong, I don't mind rulers, but it's just convenient to be able to do it without perspective lines e.e
haven't seen your videos for over a year now. damn it feels nostalgic to hear your voice again.
Yeah...this is the much needed video I wanted 😍😍 do make more videos on perspective 🤗🤗
How exciting!! Congratulations! !!!
Great video. Thanks for that. Would you be able to make a video on tips for creating our own 1-3 point perspective drawings from scratch?
Thanks again, sir🙏🏽🐉
Very satisfying to watch when old man time lapse comes in... :)
I think those windows won't be parallel.
Very nice video Mark. Been watching for years.
Mark, can you make a video on drawing movement in illustrations? Love the video!
Yay! I've been wanting to get better at perspective, so this is good timing!
Edit:thanks Mark
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE TO SEE SOMEONE DRAWING THE WAY I DO - I want to say Mark Crilley I have been watching and learning from yourt videos for many years and as a fellow manga and art loving art brother in the world i get and have always got a lot of inspiration of you. My name is Richard Clark - nice to meet you
Very interesting... thank for your tutorial... 👍♥️
Can u start drawing dragons again because I love your other ones so much and u really changed my art career
You're amazing Mark
I love your stuff markcrilley!!!
You inspired me and I’m writing a comic of my own
Same here
ANISH DHAMANKAR are you writing a comic too?
@@dustinrichardson1113 Yes, of course!
That’s awesome!
There definitely a lot of work though, what are you gonna call it?
@@dustinrichardson1113 You will definitely know about it. ......when it will be out in shops! At what age are you writing your comic?
Mr. Crilley! I was just reminded of you by another artist on twitter and I have remembered how much I owe to you in my high school years in terms of my growth as an artist. I remember watching so many of your ‘how to draw anime’ videos and following them step by step. I’d like to think I’ve come a long way since then (although I clearly still have a lot to learn and practice) but I would have never gone anywhere without you. I am so grateful for all of your help back then, and I’m rediscovering those videos and reabsorbing your lessons as a more experienced artists and they are still so helpful. Thank you so much!
P.S. have you ever considered streaming art on twitch? I think it’d be such a cool change of pace from a video.
Could you please do a video or maybe a few on the basics of watercolor.
Good job
I learned to use items way off as points when I was in junior high. Left a lot of doodles and 3D text banners on chalk boards using the clock, the flag, and a power outlet as points. It was easier to blow your friends' minds when you were a kid.
Good theme to work on! I'll publish something similar on my channel! Thanks for the inspiration! :)
Wow u are super amazing!!!! I love how u explain and draw at the same time!! I have a request can u try drawing ciel phantomhieve
Nice
Thanks for your clear explanations! It was easy enough for me to wrap my brain around 3-point perspective! At least I think. ^_^
This was fantastic! Thank you for making difficult and even scary things like 3 point perspective seem so easy even without the use of rulers. I hate feeling so precise and meh....architectural (so to speak). I also love the idea of using white gouache instead of the eternal fight with the posca markers. I also liked your use of several different markers and not just Copics. Although I own some in a good range of under drawing hues and I did splurge on the warm and cool greys and some random colors I found for a decent price, I still hate the idea of always needing Copics to follow a tutorial. Seeing you mix it up was really nice giving me the understanding that I don't have to pause the video and go searching for supplies I can't afford when I have so many begging me to use then!
Your car-tank thing makes me think of the robot car on Mars. (Am I thinking of the right thing?) It really looks like it's driving on Mars with the red sand (or whatever it is).
Thank you for putting so much effort and time into teaching us the ways of drawing and coloring and so on. Your teaching method is very easy to follow and I have grown as an artist because of it. 🖍🖌
First i'de like to thank you for the great the lesson..i would like to see a hand dexterity training video.
You go Crilley. 👍🏻
You're a god
fyi a set of parallel diagonal lines also taper towards a vanishing point, unless they line in a plane perpendicular to the line of sight.
for the beveled part, you can add another vantage point at about the same distance as you would have your Z axis point but on the opposite side (in this case it would be north since your Z axis point is south) but line it up with one of your other vantage point (in this case the one on the left) and this should give you a 45 degree angle in relative perspective to the rest of the drawing.
cool
bro im speechless in markcrilleys vids tooo good
Not sure if youve done this kind of video yet, but I would love to see a tutorial on drawing the human body in perspective!
Nice drawing presentation.😍 I also do perspectives and rendering.😊
Hey mark it would be really cool if you could make a narrated video for a drawing of edward elric and winry Rockbell from Fullmetal alchemist
A Question to you Mark.
When is your next book and when are you coming back to comics and story telling, like Brody's ghost, or any other stories ?
Hi Mark crilley! I'm starting a project where I draw myself and who I want to be (I'm 16) and i was wondering if you could do an in depth video on height. Like what a 5'1" person looks like compared to a 5'3" person or a 5'6" person
Could you do a light Saber effect illustration ,cause I'd like to know how to do that
Could you ever list all the brands you use to make art?
Master
I love your vidd
Wow.. I had no knowledge of this until now. So since I was in 5th grade I’ve been doing 3 point perspective buildings 😅 and now its crazy like I’m working on one right now and I’m recording slowly
Nicely done #markcrilley. Look forward to new thing from.
speaking of tatoulline... what are your thoughts on the rise of sky walker....
Do you have videos with your fool arm?
Please please do a how to draw a cow or calf step by step
I've seen another kind of perspective method using exponential curves rather than straight lines. I can't remember what it's called, but it creates a distortion in the image like a fisheye lens would. I'd love to see you do an illustration using that technique.
Curvilinear perspective... Aka 5 point perspective.
hey criley have you ever drawn doujinshi
Can you please do another of your random Q&A videos that you used to do where your audience was involved? (You would ask a question a few days prior to your regularly scheduled filmed videos and comment along with us on serious and then the oh-so-fun Bonus (Lightening?) Round.) I miss those. Thank you.
GKOALA7 I was just thinking about this yesterday! I miss them too.
I never use the ruler and it turns out perfectly!
do a owl
Got really confused because the first few notes of the intro were super Star Wars-y
I knew Crilley had a deadline he was running up against with how sparse his drawing video output was. Congrats on finishing your latest graphic novel.
I assumed the entrance to the vehicle was in the back that opened downward to form a ramp, like a cargo door on a plane.
Đẹp quá
Hey!! I was helped so much by this channel for developing my drawing skills....pls can u draw Pennywise the clown...plzzz...it's a humble request
i'd love to learn how artists draw in Fisheye perspective
They draw under water.
@@snorgonofborkkad so that's what the waterproof pens and papers are for o:
I think I should follow the tutorial with pencil and paper
Doing this for three point must take some serrious practice. I can freehand two point kinda okay though. • v•
How far are you from the paper you're drawing on? I mean, you have the camera at 90 above it, so you see it angled, or are you above THE camera, so you see it all plain and vertical? And how the camera doesn't block your view then? Damn
Drawing in Perspective Without Using Rules!
Perspective is less clinical when freehanded. Less precision = better picture.
I use the ruler sometimes for the art i make
I don't know if you are aware of the how to draw and render books from scott robertson they packed with information. If you check them out I thing they could beef up your perspective. Long time viewer by the way I've always loved your videos since you first started.

I KNOW YOU WONT READ THIS COMMENT BUT PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON HOW TO DRAW BODIES MY ART LOOKS LIKE TRASH AND I REALLY NEED HELP!
Bro your video is so cool but your
new video look like old videos
Maybe due to the camera.
i wish you didnt time laps it tbh
Is it just me or is the video out of focus?
