Keep drawing everyday u will get there faster than u think
Try coloring books. There are plenty of printables that are free, and some have much lighter lines than the standard children's printed books.
And you can use free software such as GIMP to make the lines lighter and crop/compose the image.
You can either print it out to follow our mentor, or leave it as a digital file to color using your computer.
After 'improving' initial images like this, you'll find yourself much more familiar with proportion and linestyles, and closer to drawing your own.

On the teeth, I always told students that lines between them always read like gaps, so it's best to just draw the biting edge and/or gums and "suggest" the teeth.
I'd like to see a sort of "companion video" to this where you shade the same face but with some more unusual or extreme lighting, like from directly below and/or from behind etc
Using a dry paintbrush with this can give an almost air brush like appearance to the graphite, the results can be stunning.
My older brother who's an artist told me to use makeup brushes which is softer and gives you a cleaner blend .
Agreed. Mark would have a smoother skin texture using a brush or even a blending stick.
My sister uses that technique quite a bit
Blending is actually so not professional and lowers the quality of ur drawing because u block the paper pores .. controlling how soft u shade is way better than blending

I can be a good artist when I let my patients take over. Sometimes patience turns in to procrastination and fear when I shade.
It was amazing to watch the drawing come to life. I did a pretty photo realistic face upon the second time drawing a face, in fact my employer hung it in the wall for hotel visitors to look at.
Unfortunately, it felt like a bit of a fluke as I can’t do this consistently - which turn in to frustration. I am drawing a new portrait now, and I have to say this video has filled me with optimism - thank you 😊

Shading makes the drawing more 3d looking it shows the depth of drawing and blending gives it smooth texture and mid value of shading . This all I by you some more youtubers thank you very much.
This helps me with my portrait drawings. I know the shade is already there but I always struggle past the basic drawing in making it really pop the right way.

Thia is probably the best one I've seen and although when I was done I used a cotton swabs to blend it but this is so good and the shading and where the lighting is supposed to b.... I've been trying to shade but whenever I did them they were always to dark since I couldnt get the lighting right but everything Is just perfect so thank u so much.❤🤍🤎

Seeing the outline of the teeth made it seem more realistic to me. Better than nothing, that's for sure.
You can also use chisel point for shading it
