    right on first question it strikes me personally. i am a baptist, and while i love that we emphasize learning and understanding the bible before baptism, it is in that same bible we read that baptism is for everyone, and to withhold salvation from people who are deserving of it isnt a very christian thing to do. This really changes my perspective, im glad my grandparents who are the ones that taught me faith are accepting of me wanting to learn more about catholicism, i bought them a cross from the vatican when i went there, even though that would mean nothing to our branch of religion they deeply respected it, and that it was blessed by a bishop. i really wish we didnt break into separate branches of christianity, we would all be better under the original church

    • @buttermargarin440
      @buttermargarin440 9 місяців тому

      @ThatGuy-nr5sp It's kinda like the case of the thief. So we all know he wasn't baptized or that he did any of the sacraments. Yet he was still saved without baptism. But if you look at it he had no opportunity to be Baptized so he was an exception. That's also with a baby because a baby can't be baptized by itself for the parents have to do it. What I'm saying is if you have no opportunity to be baptized it's and exception. Let's say the thief got down alive and knew about baptism but still refused to do it or the baby grew up and knew about baptism and still refused to do it. The things would've been different. And baptism absolutely is biblical, it's mentioned alot in acts and even in letters and gospels

    I’ve been a non-denominational Christian my entire life. I really value my “relationship” faith with Christ, but now I’ve found so much information about the Catholic faith and am working on converting. I’m amazed at how much false information about the Catholic Church is being taught at non-denominational churches. From baptism, to Mary, to the rosary, it’s bizarre. I was taught Catholics added to the Bible. But I’m finding out - Luther took books OUT. Which is wild to me, and scary. From the spiritual perspective…it seems smart of the devil to destroy tradition, take away leadership, still give people some of the Bible but not all of it, leave people to their own interpretation of the scriptures, etc. Very thankful for these videos you’ve been sharing!! Hi Alex, around 36:00 you said, that "the mother church... the cathedral in vatican... is built on the tomb of st. Peter". That is incorrect, in the vatican, there is no cathedral, there in only a basilica of st. Peter, which is, in fact, built on his tomb.
    However, the Basilica of st. Peter in neither the mother church, nor the cathedral of the archdiocese of Rome. These titles belong to the "Major Papal, Patriarchal and Roman Archbasilica Cathedral of the Most Holy Savior and Saints John the Baptist and the Evangelist in Lateran, Mother and Head of All Churches in Rome and in the World", or in short: The Archbasilica of Saint Jhon in Lateran.

If you read in context, it clearly separates believer from non believer. It was said to the Jews, they heard the truth of Christ and rejected it, and returned to the yearly practice of Yom Kippur. Therefore no more sacrifice is left for their sins, only fire. No?

    I looked up all the households being baptized in acts but none mentioned an infant. acts 8:37, which is removed in most bibles both modern Protestants and Catholic bibles states that you have to claim to be a believer as a condition for baptism. Acts has a few stories of households being baptized. So what does this mean? That everyone in the house was old enough to say they believed in Jesus Christ. The Catholic argument assumes there were infants in the households. Not my opinion I’m trying to be as unbiased as possible.

      @@scipherfilter5913The Church teaches we cannot be sure of the status of children who aren't baptized. CCC 1261 says: we entrust our children who have died without baptism to the mercy of God. It doesn't claim to know what happens to babies who aren't baptized. Tradition has taught that they are in limbo until the return of Christ, but that isn't dogmatic. As catholics we can't claim to know for sure what happens to a child who isn't baptized, just that God is merciful. But we believe baptism isn't just symbolic, and regenerates one from original sin as well as all sin one has committed prior. It's how you become part of the Body of Christ and we believe that it's a necessity to be saved. Unless a Catholic is known to have lived an extraordinary virtuous life and died in a state of grace or if a Christian was martyred for their faith we cannot claim that they are in heaven with any certainty. It may not be the answer most people are looking for, or comforting, but it's what the Church teaches and as Catholics we cannot say otherwise.

Just as he transforms US and give us a new nature, he transforms the nature of the bread and wine to truly have the nature of Jesus’s flesh and blood, so that in eating the bread and wine, we eat and drink the flesh and blood of Christ.
