Xigncode3 is a South-korean based Anti-cheat that claims to prevent IP blocks, modification, VPNs, macros and more. Games like Black Desert Online, Soulworker, Blade & Soul have used in the past and there's so many more games that still use it. Wellbia is the anti-cheat developer. SEGA is cooking 🍳🍽 I seriously don't know what to write in here lol.

I have PSO2 running on the deck, (abit poorly in NGS, base plays reasonable).
I'd like it more if they made offical support for the steam Deck.
If they kill PSO2 on the deck, I will start looking at jumping ship to another game.

If they're going this far to prevent global players from playing in the JP server, it would be pretty dang neat if they finally made the global chat work like the JP chat and allow more than just the English alphabet. It is supposed to be the global version after all, it's ridiculous that the JP version is the better choice for anyone not typing their chat messages in English.

English is the official international language, wtf is your problem. If they add more then without a doubt two things will happen, 1: it WILL split the community, 2: expect some really nasty shit, like racism really hars swearingm etc.
Not to mention that it will be pulling away resources in order to make it work and then to deal with inevitable consequences of that stupid decision.

Being worse than Gameguard is a pretty monumental achievement in and of itself. I suppose Sega is determined to shoot their foot clean off with NGS, a few dozen shots isn't enough for them from the looks of some things.

I feel like SEGA loves to give mixed messages about a number of things. I will toss my opinion, point, word speech message thing.
Sure, I get it, developers are going to do whatever, good or bad. If SEGA thinks this is a good thing, great on them. I just want some stuff cleared up. Straight-up messages about some stuff, especially when it comes to people who are trying to play their games from different locations (e.g global/foreigners playing on jp or vice versa). Sure, I get it, if ToS, rules, and other things state some defining actions- meh. Alright. But it conflicts from what I recalled from waaaay back then.
I had some respect for what SEGA did in the past by stating some stuff, but most of it's going down the drain just cause of these things that could be cleared up by just admitting/saying some official statements. Mean, they have done that before, but meh. I feel like there are a ton of miscommunications on a number of fronts. Or maybe I just think there might be.
What I base my stance on was an incident with DDoS (yes this happened). DDoS did a number of damages to PSO2 Oracle and SEGA's responded to the issue. SEGA purposely region-locked the game only for Japan. They did not have any fancy way of stopping those who had VPNs, or proxies from entering the game, but it was an up-and-down ride of people getting banned because of x, y, and z. Either way, people not from Japan still wanted to play the game.
SEGA (I cannot for the life of me find the article or thread about the official statement of allowing overseas/foreigners/English players) announced that people can come back into the game and lift the region-lock dealio.
Why? Don't know. Could be because of genuine care, maybe the profit loss, or both.
Granted that it did not stop some movements, ToS, and other things to kick and enable some people to get banned.
The point is- SEGA communicated with its audience and gave a clear message. I can respect that.
Now, in this day and age with New Genesis, I feel like they cannot clearly communicate or they use lame excuses to try and justify something. Or they straight up don't communicate with their audience as much anymore and just do whatever.
But overall, this is just my opinion. And I'm an oldie of PSO2. Oracle. Yeah. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. But who wants to listen to this guy who recalled so much stuff that has happened.

It real, Wellbia is coming as optional... but that mean they're going to implement it sooner or later.
It's only optional to switch between the two. Wellbia will be installed no matter what. You can also be certain that Wellbia will eventually take over from GameGuard too. Sega probably have a contract with GameGuard, so they have to keep it around for now.
this make me sad to hear, Sega please listen to the people that enjoy your game and dont ruin it for so many players. i am afraid to even listen to music on youtube now and even change outfits with the chat now, i dont understand how anything that program is supposed to help the game if you arnt gettign rid of those bots. those bots are the only thing bad in your game dont ruin a good game like so many have be for you... All i hope is that this anti-cheat, if implemented, doesn't fuck with the PigCam add-on.
Ever since base I had to use this in order to play because the FOV puts the camera WAY too close to the character and it makes it extremely uncomfortable to play since i can see very little of my surroundings.
I really hate this and hope it doesn't come to fruition. I have many friends who need to use a VPN to even play the Global version with me and I have friends who enjoy playing the JP version of the game with a VPN (I used to as well before the Global version released) so this will literally just remove the ability to play for REAL players and do nothing to stop or remove botting and/or cheaters.
PSO2's current anti-cheat already uses a ring-0 system so that's not going to do anything in regards to preventing region locks, or the use of the Steam Deck. Tweaker is running just fine with all that in place so I don't think we have to worry too much.
GameGuard does use ring 0 as well, however it's been confirmed by GameGuard to be compatible with the launch of the Steam Deck (which is surprising, because if it weren't for the deck, they would have not cared). But the JP version doesn't seem to work on the Deck, because GameGuard is different for the JP version, at least outdated iirc.

It's only a headache for controls but once everything is setup it does work without interruptions.

- Xigncode is useless, cheating is rampant in Blade & Soul and gameguard is also useless, I dunno why they bother with these
- Macro shouldnt be allowed. In my experience, it ruined some MMOs and their communities, since always it becomes a PP measuring contest or a vital thing to use macro for more DPS
- Personally, I use Win11 on SD with Steam Deck, while I get that some people will use base steamOS linux, but its just better to use windows as OS on steam deck in general, even the less tech savvy people have moved on
- Dunno about IP blocks, my experience is mixed. But even if I dont play on JP servers, I do feel bad for people who do and will have to use VPN actively to bypass it, especially since JP has stuff that people have and the stuff that we will never get
Depends on the Macro... FF14's in-game Macro System is good.
Pso2NG certainly does need a Macro for Pallet and Weapon Swapping (because it's clunky on Consoles), and for string-ing up Emotes such as Dance Emotes.

I think it's kinda weird that they are wanting to use this kind instead of using better ones but then again we can't pick our poison. If They use Xigncode3 then it might be easier to bypass than something like Vanguard and is also very intrusive too.
Anti cheats are a joke, it doesnt matter how good those claim to be, right now the cheaters have enough tools to break any game security, yes i said that right, ANY GAME.
As long as it doesnt do any shit like the one with Genshin on release day, or make a worse experience limiting PC players, im fine, if not... welp i will just uninstall NGS, im not playing it right now anyways lol.
Regardless, I'm not leaving PSO2... though this is scummy, and I advise against Sega using it.

@@Nechromachia because I don’t want to lose a game I love. I know the rest of the players will leave, unless they’re on console. It would leave more of a mark if the game was PC only. Either they’ll see people don’t want to play, and change it, they’ll take it down after people leave, or they’ll ignore us. One thing to remember though is Sega likes to listen to their players. Asking them kindly to not use Xigncode3 might result in them deciding against using it.

Though I do remember that game getting slightly xenophobic due to the cheaters in the game, it was relentless how many people cheated and it the same anti cheat. its not gonna stop people lol.

it remind me what happened with warzone 1 and the Ricochet anticheat.
they tried to get rid of the hackers but they multiplied , not only that the coding of the game became a mess :
1 the textures loaded like a PS1 game
2 menus were buggy
3 the weapons frecuently loaded as cubes (yes as you readed)
Along the frecuent hacks i faced in that game was one that DDOS me , what a coincidense i DC while i had a good start ?? .

I play NGS in Korea, but I can't play without using a VPN. And global can't because of regional restrictions.
For god's sake, I wish Sega had learned from watching Capcom's Monster Hunter... If SEGA blocks me from playing PSO2, I'll play Monster Hunter.
Just realized what this means. All those mods are about to be nuked because it's messing with possible cosmetic sales.
I'll be honest here the idea of changing the way the game works does seem a lil daunting because I use express vpn to make sure nobody is able to ddos attack me. But, I also know some freaks out there install mods that basically strip your character down nude without your knowledge much less your conscent. This has led to me mainly playing as a type 1 to avoid the worry of it. If this anti cheat removed that from ngs and made me comfortable to play my type 2 again maybe it's not so bad. Also I play on console so there's no way I'd have to worry about cheats and the like restricting me.

Coding is the problem always if your AntiCheat is not working in your game. Thats why some games have several crashes because of the coding system what Devs uses is not working properly for the AntiCheat. So they change and change then try the a new AntiCheat.
Xing can bypass, EAC is worst if the coding is not working properly.

Let me tell you one more thing . There are a hugh group of people who were using cheats mod they earned more than 2k each month per person . Look Sega knew this and they are aiming those people
For what i know and read xigncode is one of those that recompiled more private info than other (yes is very intrusive) and is more hard to uninstall than it should, inclusive after uninstall the game so this is a point to have. After that the mayor issues will be the accessibility of JP and GLOBAL servers for all players but someone will "fix" this at time. So Bot and cheats... more big games have bot problems so i dont expect SEGA to fix this but i believe that can be a increase of bots... or not because the "block" of macros, VPN and external things, but again, someone will "fix" that. And personally im curious about performance issues for what i said before
SoulWorker player here.
Xigncode is trash in SoulWorker, once even bricked my system when I attempted to downgrade from windows 11 to 10 and had to fresh wipe since it deleted my desktop (how??), yet I still played SoulWorker official versions because I love the game. People are constantly bypassing the anti-cheat, though I don't know how true the blocking of VPNs are as I've played SoulWorker JP and KR in the past with a vpn enabled without issues... maybe a new thing? Who knows.
The SoulWorker private server, Burning SoulWorker, got rid of Xigncode because of how bad the anti-cheat is on the game and the systems its on, and once or twice had xigncode interfering with my other games who use EAC. I hope for the sake of the PSO2 players the do not make the switch to it, as its one of if not the worst anti-cheat today.
Also, uninstalling any games that come with it doesn't remove the anti-cheat, so you have to go through a process to get the anti-cheat removed fully from your pc even after you've long removed games that use it.

Damn this kinda sucks. I used to play on the JP servers since 2012 (closed beta test). I quit pso2 in 2017. Recently I kinda wanted to come back to pso2 especially now that a new upgraded version of the game is out (new genesis) but while doing research on New Genesis I came across your video.
So let me get this straight. The current Japanese version of the game (where my characters live) currently has a IP ban? and now they want to implement a new anti cheat program that will make it so that we can't even connect using a VPN?
I guess SEGA really doesn't want any baka gaijins on their server anymore.
Way back in the day 2012 there was no IP block and one could easily just download the game and log into it. Played it for 5 years with no issues.

Thanks to him randomly joined my Party and try to converse with me in English,
I joined his team and after a while I gets to use Japanese Romaji to converse with Team members and then later, I'm able to read and wrtie Hiragana/Katakana and speak Japanese more fluence

Agreed, got introduced into the JP community, made a new friend, a good memories and learned a lot of new things, whole half aspect of my life literally came to be because of the JP side of this game, NGS may not be a great game but it is what connects me to the one I care

So basically if I use the software from my mouse to direct the forward and back buttons as the 4 and 7, and use the 4 and 7 to activate stuff on my pallet, which is also selected by my scroll wheel. I can be flagged for this?

Right now community managers are trying to keep the alert on the downlow by preventing topics like these on both the discord server(Fleet and the official one) and the subreddit.

From my personal experience, especially when I was playing on JP, yes. I didn't collect all the footage that was spread around the internet, I just used one to demonstrate it. They follow the same pattern and I've seen more outrage about those bots on the JP side than on global over the past 2 years.
You even had multiple bots stuck right below PSE areas so they could leech off loot and Meseta.

Tweaker just runs the game normally without the stupid SEGA launcher. It will get patched to run PSO2 with XIGNCODE2 BS.
if true and it really does get ring 0 lv anti cheat, then ig i won't be playing NGS anymore, i can't stand and can't understand why companies do this. It is useless at sopping the actual issues and as u said, it just affects people who are trying to play the game.
Fun fact, GameGuard uses ring 0 access as well. Yet it can't fully use its potential on Linux, as it needs to be compatible with the deck.

Speaking of JP server, I still can't forget what JP has done to global players on June 9th. Until this day, I still cut my relations with the JP because of it. Anyways, even without JP saves I can still plays on Global since my alliance members are more friendly compared to my old days on JP

As a jp player this is alarming but what i can say for now is that they are still testing it out. Very likely they will post a notification once they decide to switch and ppl will find a way. I play jp on vanilla client(no tweaker) entirely in japanese with only a vpn

@@lokhanmartin4540 true, some of my friends got banned back then, but me since 2013 up until now never even a single time I experience ban hammer by sega cuz I never use custom stuffs even the Damage Parser, but my friends did use this parser

Developers can’t do nothing bout it, in my opinion it will and will not work it will hurt more the community, like you said.
If people wants to modify there game it be harder for them live steaming so on so forth.

I would use something like these things to rip a copy of my character to make a VTuber Avatar.
I'm aware there are other ways to do it, but I don't know a way to do it with Mocap capabilites. If anyone knows with easy to use kind of information, I would greatly appreciate it.
If SEGA does this, a majority of players will just simply stop playing. Blue Protocol is around the corner. This is suicide if they pull this.

There is just little information available that leads us to speculation. This is just a warning and nothing more, nothing less. Hopefully it'll not harm us, the legitimate players. I am only mentioning that a new anti-cheat will be coming sometime soon, and it could break and cause issues. We don't know how strict the anti-cheat will be, and if we will have the same experience before the anti-cheat.
I believe that most of the anti-cheat's problem will eventually be bypassed, just because of how easy it was for other gamers in other games, like Tera.
