Miatas are such an awesome platform to build on, the possibilities are endless and there is a substantial amount of support both in the community and in aftermarket parts. There’s a few options when it comes to engine swapping or just power mods on the stock 1.8. But for under 10k start to finish you can have an extremely fun and quick car. Cheap and easy to work on and an excellent choice for really getting your hands dirty in a build that’s not going to give you a huge headache. 10/10 would recommend

As a rebuilder myself, it's getting harder and harder to get a deal on these salvage cars. I'm currently in the middle of rebuilding a cobalt ss and I'll be lucky if I don't lose money on this one. Good job on the rebuild!

Miata has been my favourite car for a long time now. And am just sad because am only 16 years old, and don’t have the money for it, and don’t know how to build cars. But I wish that some day I can make the money and buy my own miata. And build it step by step:)

i have less than half of that put into my NB including the car, and i'm boosted, but then again i'm extremely budget minded, did everything myself from bodywork to paint
i found one with 115k miles great condition for $3500 but im between fixing my wrecked brz or buying this miata and putting the brz on hold.
that is my absolute dreambuild. i didnt know you were using the Kokoro Heritagewheels(my favourite) i was shocked when I saw them! i mean how could you just build my dream car that I pictured in my head in a random yt video I clicked on

Sorry to hear about your parent's divorce. That kind of thing is never easy and can end up turning into a complete nightmare for everyone or end up opening newer and better doors for everyone. I'm so glad that you found a way to make the best of that situation and to bring your little sister with you on that journey to restore this Miata for her. That was an incredible gesture of love and the journey you took together will be the best part of it all and it will bring you closer together again. You are obviously a very smart guy for your age and I'm sure you will be very successful in anything you choose to do with your life. I recently bought a 60k mile nb2 after spending about three months hunting down the cleanest one I could afford.
Within a month I got sideswiped by a big rig dumptruck and that did enough body damage that the insurance company totalled my car.
I bought the salvage rights and am currently trying to hunt down another clean low mileage nb2 (as a daily) so I can take my time rebuilding it.

As someone going through a crazy journey myself, you shouldn't rush things and wish to get there faster or cut corners. Be patient with everything because you'll get there right when you're supposed to.

My exhaust setup is , Jackson Racing headers, Cobalt dual exhaust, Magnaflow high flowing muffler. You’re right about them sounding bad with an exhaust but tbh mine sounds pretty good. The headers sets it apart.
CX racing also has “equal” racing headers for a 1.8. Only they’re not so equal and give the little Miata almost like a subie rumble

The Miata is all cool and games... really cool, but i almost bingewatched this series with the focus first. what i found the most interesting/awesome about this series is to see how your sister is showing more and more of her stokedness/happyness everytime... At the beginning i was like "uuuh is she really appreceating it like she should?" but with watching the series i loved to see how she was getting more and more into it and showing the love for you and of course, the car.
besides seeing that i appreciate it so much what you do for your Family. And your builds are cool as HELL.
Here in germany builds like this arent that easy to do roadlegal. speaking about rideheight/fitment and that rims would never be allowed here, probably. same with those LED headlights...
