Manuel Thanks for the awesome Turkey frying video…..best of many that I watched. It really helped me “get in the game”. Ha! I didn’t let the family down with my first Fried Turkey!
Due to my lack of tools, like having a big pot for deep frying, I'm planning on frying pieces at a time. Gonna be my first time and usually my first time cooking new techniques and recipes always comes out questionable but thats the fun part of cooking and experimenting.
Sheesh this looks like the way I’m going to do ours this year first timer LETS GO 🙂 thank you for the walk through nicely explained. And your values behind it or spot on the money it’s about Family 100% 🙌🏽
0:32 My brother It's been a long time since I fried a Turkey, but thanks for the big tip with the oil, and I hope you & your fam have a bless Thanksgiving as well 🦃
Thanks for the video. I mistakenly injected and seasoned before measuring how much oil imma need. Glad to see I can just do it with oil rather than water. Thanks again. Happy Thanksgiving!
Fantastic video thank you so much. I love that you keep saying fam because we are all family. I'm heading to Walmart to buy the seasoning. And my wife loved the idea of measuring with oil so that seasoning will stick
Thank you for instructions fam I found this video very informative. Quick ? after you get your turkey in the deep fryer are you turning that heat back on? And if so are we going to cook it on a low-medium flame?
Thank you so much for the question. Yes you would reignite the flame and keep it at a flame that would keep you steady at 350 degrees. A low-medium flame would be too low in my opinion to keep the grease hot enough.
Bro, made the Turkey, just like you said… it was phenomenal… my wife said best I ever made… Thanks Again! One Question… when I dropped the bird in and lost like 50 degrees… do I factor that time till I get it back up into the cook time? I split it difference & it turned out good, but the legs a little over done.
Almost 3 Gallons for my setup. You still can use the oil method after brining though. Most turkeys are pre brined and the oil will not affect the moisture retention.
To be honest both ways are fine. Going legs up makes the bird easier to handle as it sits better on the stand than legs down where it tends to move around.
@@CookingwithManualFocus thanks bro. maybe the ones that were legs down were cooked in a basket. i didnt see that. but makes sense to put the legs up for it to sit right. thank man. appereate it. thans what im doing. have fun
I'm going to smoke my first pork butt tomorrow it's a 10lb pork butt I'm going to be using my pit boss Austin xl i want to do it low and slow what temp and how long should i smoke it for and what temp should i pull it and wrap it?
250° would be a good temp but going low n slow expect anywhere 10+ hrs. Pork is pretty forgiving pull when its probe tender and let it rest for an hour. 203° would be okay. Here is a vid I did of pulled pork going 250° it was an 8lb. ua-cam.com/video/13hRQdXGmFg/v-deo.html
@@CookingwithManualFocus so put it on at 250 till it hits about 170 and probes tender and then pull it and wrap it and throw it back on till its hitting about 205 and then pull and let rest for 1 hour is that right
So at 170° it won’t probe tender. Usually around that time your bark is set and you will probably be around the “stall”. Around 203-205 that’s when you check for probe tenderness. Then when it’s tender pull it off and let it rest. Now with that said time are only an estimate depending on your conditions it can go longer or shorter than expected. So I always suggest temp and tenderness when Smokin.
@CookingwithManualFocus I understand that, but few are the things you can see in passing and know for sure "thats american", like, deepfrying a whole turkey... Its not criticism btw I'm honestly amazed, I never thought of cooking a WHOLE bird in oil, its probably delicious too, but I think my blood pressure went up just by thinking about this recipe.
@cjr1382 Lol gotcha! Where are you from? I live in the Southern States in the US and yes we put any and everything in that hot oil 😂. As long as you dont over season it...but if you do you can expect that blood pressure to skyrocket.
@@CookingwithManualFocus I'm from central Brazil, our blood pressure is pretty high too but thats probably because we eat way too much red meat and use a ton of salt in everything

You are welcome fam!! Water is counter productive and will cause issues. I never understood why some people use it.
You already know why people do it bro, they're idiots.

@tfrey947 That is awesome fam!! So the time you drop the bird I would start the time of the cook.
Yes Please!! 😋😋😋
Great, video, man! How much oil did you end up using? I have a 12 lb also and I started a wet brine before measuring 🤦
Almost 3 Gallons for my setup. You still can use the oil method after brining though. Most turkeys are pre brined and the oil will not affect the moisture retention.
@ perfect thank you I’ll do that.
I hope I catch you in time. I watch lot of videos. My question.... Which way do you cook it legs up or legs down? There no consistency

Maybe I missed it but what temp should the turkey be so you know when to take it out?
The breast should temp around 162° after taking it out it will continue to rise a bit before it cools. 165° is the safe spot

Do I turn the flame back on
@@jameshornbuckle7564 Yes after it’s safely in the pot fire that bad boy back up!

Before you take the turkey out of the package, put it in the pot and use water to check level
To me its a waste of water. Just use oil and season it if you like. However if you are comfortable doing the water hey go with it.
