Love me some Esperanza. Talented beyond her years.
My husband and I went to see her in concert three times over the last few months. I first heard her online before she was nominated and just knew in my gut that this girl was going to skyrocket to success. I booked as many concerts as I could to see her live, first at the Blue Note in NYC, then the Lincoln Center where she sang along with Wynton Marsalis and finally here in Boston a few days before Christmas. We got to meet her after two of those shows and found her to be the nicest, most gracious and humble person you could imagine. This young woman has the voice of an Ella, Sarah, Billie, Dinah, Carmen, Anita, Nancy, Betty - all wrapped up in her own unique Samara sound. I’m SO grateful that we have such a talented jazz singer who’s so young so we’ll be able to hear high quality singing for many years to come. We need more of this type of talent featured at the Grammys. What a breath of fresh air Samara Joy is! This was well deserved!
Samara blew my mind first seeing her online. Her career definitely skyrocketed and fast. Well deserved grammy awards. A truly gifted Singer.

No me malinterpretes, de no haber estado Samara dentro del grupo, me hubiese encantando verla a ella ganar, pero definitivamente Samara Joy se lo merece. Es una artista muy joven con inmenso talento y se dedica a mantener vivo un género musical ya prácticamente olvidado.

I started listening to her music right after she won this, wow she has a beautiful soothing voice. Not a lot of ppl her age perform jazz which is refreshing to see. Congrats to her and shoutout to the Grammys for giving the spotlight to the talented underdogs

So happy for her!!! I saw Adele shortly after her Best New Artist win, and thankfully grabbed a ticket for a Samara concert now too! I hope to see her often before concerts move to huge venues (like Adele!). Samara's album has been on repeat for the last few months -- just love her voice, expression, and style. Her career is just beginning, and she's going to have an incredibly successful one.

A primeira vez que eu vi e ouvi Esperanza Spalding foi na apresentação do Óscar 2012 na cerimônia póstuma. Fiquei maravilhado com a performance e principalmente pela bela voz cantando "What a Wonderful World".
