My Queen Christina Aguilera! The best TV moment ever! ❌tina was more deserving of the award than any nominee or winner ever! Glad I was finally there in person in 2022 to see her win yet another Grammy!👸🏼
The 1970's was interesting. First half of the decade: Artists who went on to have long, established careers: CSN, Carpenters, America, Simon, Cole, Hamlisch. Second half: a string of one-hit wonders. Compare that with the 80's - with a couple of exceptions, most artists had multiple hits, but by their third album, they fell out of favor.
What are you talking about? Only The Beatles, Barbara Streisand and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young even remotely hold up until Sade shows up. Every other old artist is bland, boring, uninteresting all doing the same shit as other artists and left forgotten. It’s pretty consistently been mostly hot ass with the occasional good choice
Dude, open your eyes, Adele is much better than the comedian who won in 1961. Stop saying stupid things, most of the artists who won in the 70s are terrible.
People who they were DEFINITELY right about with no doubt: The Beatles (literally had 8 #1's by that point, obvious pic) Carpenters (one of the biggest selling act of the 70's) Mariah Carey (Owned the 90's, rest of the nominees are mid) Christina Aguilera (pretty good pick but they missed BRITNEY SPEARS) Alicia Keys (great R&B star, rest of the list doesn't compare) Maroon 5 (missed out on KANYE somehow but, whether or not you like them, they were popular) Adele (It's Adele) Dua Lipa (She has gotten bigger since winning it) Olivia Rodrigo (no other choice that year, obvious pic)

Norah didn't win Song of the Year. Come Away with Me (the song) was not written by her. So, she's missing the Song of the Year Award. Eilish did it the same year, and Adele completed the slam afterward (on separate dates)
@@jonathanvelazquezph.d.2719 Adele came out in 07. I was not thinking about the singers being songwriters. In that sense then yeah it's Eilish. But I do believe the artist affects the song writing award. The impact of the song itself got it nominated in that category.
Commercial success isn't an accurate measure of artistry. Christina had proven herself over time to be more of a musician than Britney is both through her vocals and songwriting.
Xtinas debut 4 hits with 3 of them going no1 for weeks. Her debut honored by rock & roll hall of fame in 2007. Grammys chose a real singer not a fake one just cause she was more popular.

Funny that you can see how the quality degrades through time, and it becomes more of a popularity contest than the actual quality of their musicality.
