A trio of antique dealers decide whether or not to make offers for people's possessions or allow the owners to take a risk at auction.
Welcome to Dickinson's Real Deal. Dickinson: the flamboyant antique expert helps the public make the most money from their old antiques. Are today's guests about to produce big windfalls or big busts? Find out!
The challenge is how to get the best deal. Contestants meet the dealers who offer cash for an item. The seller must decide whether to accept the guaranteed money or risk fortune or failure in the auction room. Of course, placing one's trust in a positive auction outcome is a gamble in itself! Will they make the right choice?
Great show
The old paper notes dates this, but it is still good to watch.
The .800 silverware is more common to continental Europe, while .925 was more common in the UK at that time.
That enamel box was stamped…inside near the edge..they didnt mention that
$200 for any type of Rolex watch seems crazy cheap.....
Right?!? I was wondering what year this was shot? Surely not anytime recently? Or should We move to the UK and go into the used Rolex business?
We don’t use $ in the U.K. we use the £ sterling.
But what did the dealer who bought it make on it? How much did he sell it for - why were we not told?
@@shawnariley3087 this was 10 years ago so it would be $400. Currently similar Victory watches sell for around £500-£900, well below Oyster or other models as these were specifically made for soldiers to buy so would have been a cheaper range.
@@shawnariley3087 The UK does not want you,it needs you!!
Rolex’s of that vintage have a very limited market..its damaged too and it would have cost probably the same amount to repair it..the buyer probably sold it for £1k-1200
the English are less sentimental than I've thought.
See what you mean, but there are fewer relatives in the newer generation you could give antiques to that would want or appreciate them. Better they’re going to a home that wants them.
in from the UK,and id sell my nan for 6 quid.
@@sHorrorfan that seems like a good deal … how is her baking?
@@jaewok5G she has good bun's!
@@sHorrorfan yeah, baby!
With today's polyester money it wouldn't sound like paper, of course it's not even that often that you see money these days with contactless payment
Karen is very tedious isn't she
David please keep your nose out of the business
