A trio of antique dealers decide whether or not to make offers for people's possessions or allow the owners to take a risk at auction.
Welcome to Dickinson's Real Deal. Dickinson: the flamboyant antique expert helps the public make the most money from their old antiques. Are today's guests about to produce big windfalls or big busts? Find out!
The challenge is how to get the best deal. Contestants meet the dealers who offer cash for an item. The seller must decide whether to accept the guaranteed money or risk fortune or failure in the auction room. Of course, placing one's trust in a positive auction outcome is a gamble in itself! Will they make the right choice?
Always enjoy episodes with jewelry and especially when Allison&Ian are nation's for a deal. Never knew of this show until a few months ago watching re-runs here. Same goes for another show filmed over the pond where Ian is a the go-to appraiser for a high end pawn shop (started watching it a yr or so ago) but seen him there first&was delighted to see he must have gotten his start here since this show is much more dates than the one I mentioned above.
Interesting to see a few people that reappear often

Irena couldn't be at the auction for the painting as she was filming next week's episode with the other usual sellers that seem to be on every week.

I've seen at least 2 of these sellers on this program at least twice
They have to remember when taking jewellery to auction the buyer has to pay a premium on the hammer price as well as you paying a seller's premium, and the item has a fixed retail value so a cash deal with no premium either way will nearly always be the best result.

Yes, you see the same faces again and again, both in the sellers and the ones waiting to sell. Maybe they're just groupies going from show to show.
Alison is tight with her money I think shes greedy
I disagree especially with the last deal of the day. She's in the business to make a profit.
I Hate it when sellers say sentimental value, balls you're selling it so can't be that sentimental, or the one's that come in saying item's been in the family for generations and cashing in instead of passing it on....

They should recycle the so called seller's. Same seller's returning all the time. Makes me think it's it's fiction program fake seller's just for the TV show
