  • In this video I will discuss the most important tip for air force basic training. I was recently hanging around some MTI's at Lackland AFB, and they said if they could have it their way, they'd wish all their trainees came physically prepared before air force basic training. Apparently, trainees are don't do the most important thing prior to air force basic training, and that's working out. This tip is a Pro tip I am trying to stress to you. Please please please, take this seriously and start doing some kind of PT prior to basic training. It will make yours and your MTI's experience so much better. So understand how important it is to work out, and if you download the Aim High app, you can see a bunch of workouts that will prepare you for Air Force Basic Training. Good luck you all.

So I'm 210 lbs and 5' 6. Also, I'm trying to lose 40 lbs before Dec because then I'll have to take the asvab again. Runs are killing me, but in 2 months I've went from 35-40 minutes for 2 miles to 30-35 minutes. Still a lot to go, and senior year is kicking my butt, but your videos motivate me a lot! Thanks for the content!
    update:
I'm 200 lbs now, and I've retaken my asvab. My 2 mile time has gotten down to 23 minutes so things are getting better! More work to go but things are looking up!

All you overweight folks, you guys are probably in the best spot so hang in there! Once you make the weight qualification, you'll also be in fit shape even if you still could stand to lose another couple more pounds! But for you, you're already on a roll with the fitness, the workouts and the eating healthy. Just keep it up! All the folks that already qualify for weight, but aren't that active, they'll have the toughest time at BMT because they don't have the good healthy habits like you do.
At least that's what I've told myself as I've worked at shedding the 20lbs I needed to get through MEPS, and still keeping it up before I ship out October 12.

    • @Jodywithawhy

E-4 mafia. Lol. It’s the rank before Non commissioned officer, and you gotta earn that rank through test and performance reports. You’re given E-1 through E-4, and then every one after that you gotta earn. So some airmen get stuck at that rank.

All you have to do is touch your knees with your elbows. Once you figure out the rhythm of it, you can crank them out pretty fast. Also if you don’t have a bar or someone to hold your feet, it can be difficult to go fast. But if your doing 55-60 already, you’re in good shape man. You got this. 💪🏽💪🏽

Study arithmetic and math knowledge. That’s the easiest way to boost your scores quickly. Just remembering the formulas you were taught in school sometimes is the hardest part. Once you remember them, you can boost your score pretty quickly.

I got a 98 on the asvab and I have to agree. I studied all sections and when it came down to it, it really comes down to the arithmetic and math knowledge. Practice word problems too. Those get pretty confusing if you aren't familiar. And lastly, my test had allot of mechanical tool identification for some reason. Just make sure you get familiar with what tools do what. The study guides online are all good. Most importantly, don't stress. It's multiple choice. Some basic elimination will help you and you'll be fine.

One of my friends actually skill bridge meaning left the military straight Into the workforce for a job in NASA. His job was avionics for heavy aircraft. I would go for a job that could translate to spaceship or something to work towards a degree. You can do maintenance and learn more about sheet metal and general maintenance of aircraft which is what most astronaut do alongside their experiments. Or you can get an electronic job and work at NASA as a tester or someone who does electronics. It depends on what you want to be at NASA or SpaceX. Try looking at jobs and see how they translate to the space agencies. There are a lot of good opportunities in the Air Force, just see what you want and go from there.

I have multiple questions. After high school I went to college, and I am currently in college, but I really do not know what path to take. I just signed for engineering. I didn't really like it and I still don't like it. So, I was thinking what to do instead of college. I liked military, so I thought of joining Air Force for 4 years. I have not yet done anything or applied for anything because I want to physically get myself ready because based on the research I have done. It will be hell going to BMT not being able to run for 5 mins doing pushes and more. So, I am currently training myself. I will do my best for the next whole month and really get a nice physique. Be able to do the tasks in BMT not having challenging time in it. I of course getting myself mentally ready as well and so my questions for (Air Force tech school) Do I choose the classes, or They choose it for me. Will we do jobs in there. Will we live in the dorms that belong to the school or Live in a separated place we live in. How do expenses work. Will we be paid. Are all the meals in the school free or do you have to pay. Now about BMT. Do I have to bring clothes or will the BMT give specific clothes to wear. What about boxers do I have to get a-lot of it. What kind of bag should I bring. What devices can I bring is it only phone and charger or more (I am not planning to bring more than a phone and charger but I just want to know). Finishing BMT will they tell us what group we in and what bus are we going to take. Where are the bags must be when we wait for the bus. I love all your videos but none of the videos I have watched so far give me this information. So please tell me everything I want to know before going to BMT and getting start with Air Force. Thank you very much!

You are right. Covid has been messing up their PT schedule while at basic. So they are missing PT days and if you come too far away from the standard, it’ll be very hard to reach that while in basic. So do everything you can to prepare before you leave, that way if you miss PT days while in basic, you’re still good to go.

The standards have become so awfully low because they’re struggling for help. Nothing against people that can’t do those numbers and pass it but it’s absolutely attainable for the average person that works out 2-3 times per week.
