with waterproof jackets that have a mesh lining never have it in the sleeves.. They use a nylon or polyester material which really makes your arms sweaty if it's touching your skin
+james keeble I'm constantly searching high and low for jackets fitted properly with mesh liner throughout. Indeed it is uncommon and really curious that clothing manufacturers, even high brand ones, ignore to put in mesh (or some other solution) in the arms on light (meant for spring/summer/autumn, ie often overlaying just a tshirt) waterproof (poor breathing) jackets to avoid the clamminess. But apparently it only needs to look good on the computer screen and data sheets. No fucks given if it's practical and comfortable in reality on a real person.

Of course! We'd recommend a three - layering system with a warm (preferably merino wool) base layer, then a fleece under this jacket. In terms of temperature it does depend on how you personally react to the cold - and where you are!
I used a similar system with a 200 weight fleece earlier this year in Tromso, Norway, when there was heavy snow and rain - I found I was warm enough. Although I really do feel the cold (being female also) so I occasionally had to add an extra layer, but at times I got much too warm also! Temperatures were generally around -3 in the daytime and a bit lower when we ventured inland.
It does also depend on what level of activity you'll be doing, for example you'll be much warmer using this system with more exertion. By keeping your extremities warm by wearing gloves, hat etc.. this would also help as well as making sure you don't get wet as this really makes you feel the cold, so the waterproof outer layers are ideal.

Hi, i'm climbing Kilimanjaro in the near futur, can i rely on this jacket as an outer layer?
If you have a few layers underneath (minimum 3) like a jumper/fleece and a hoody then yea.
But if your just wearing 2 or less under layers definitely not because this is built for rain.
I would recommend "The North Face Himalayas" jacket because there is lots of down in it.
But it all depends on how much you are used to the cold so that you can maintain a low core temperature.
Hopefully you haven't went yet.

Would this jacket do the job in keeping you warm when it comes to cold weather? Or is the purpose of this jacket just to keep water off and keep you dry only because Im in the process of buying a jacket for the winter time. Thanx in advance.
Hello,
This Jacket is more to keep you dry and for breathabilty during it's use so you don't get sweaty. If you're interested in using it for cold weather, you could use it as a part of a layering system with a warm merino wool base layer, warm fleece mid layer and the jacket over the top for waterproofing and wind proofing. I used a similar system on my trip to Norway earlier this year for cold weather, however the jacket would not be enough on it's own - depending on how cold it will be and how well your body copes with colder temperatures.
