A great review of a fantastic jacket. I was gutted when my own resolve jacket got blown away in storm force winds whilst hill walking and despite searching ages, I never found it. Needless to say I bought a replacement and now I'm a lot more careful when in the mountains in very windy weather!
Oh no! That sucks :( But yeah gotta be careful because the jacket is really lightweight.
So true, mate. It was foolish of me but I was struggling to put it on in with no shelter while also holding my baseball cap on my head and also stopping my bag from blowing away. They are really lightweight (which I also love about them) and the image of it blowing away was like a plastic bin bag spiralling away in a hurricane.

I just got a new used TNF rain jacket but it has no tags. I can't get the name, model or style of the jacket to come up when I Google the inner nylon tag codes. I think it's a Resolve but it has a chest zipper pocket and a mesh lining. It also has elastic cuffs which I love much more than the Velcro flaps. Thanks for your time.

A basic jacket, but for North Face, very good value. I used to have one, it doesn’t breathe like Goretex, but it’s way cheaper. Having said that it’s not breathable, I went to a Radiohead concert back in 2001 and it was tipping it down with rain, my mate had a pricey goretex jacket and he got soaked at the end of the night and I was dry as toast, very impressive. Good review.......BTW, I got into chill hop because of you! You reviewed an Alexa product and played Dreams by Joakim Karud on it, awesome....I think it was you, anyway!

The material used in this jacket is not breathable which causes you to sweat. This is actually the reason for the mesh underneath. If you need a jacket that doesn’t make you sweat i recommend the dryzzle. Also, make sure you put it in the dryer after you wash it to reactivate the durable water repellent. (Source: i am a north face employee)

Quest takes sweat out no mesh inside tho but I wear it with a thermoball as mid layer and a merino base layer and nothing more a can ask.works perfectly.
I want to buy this jacket as casual wear and in where I live, it doesn’t rain that much but it’s really cold and really windy. I’m kinda sensitive to cold weather and it’s a raincoat so it may not be designed for that type of weather. Would you recommend it for me?
It's definitely a great rain jacket but the only problem I have with this jacket is that its not sweat resistant and since I sweat a lot, the sweat sticks to the jacket. Sometimes it get too hot from the material but its a good thing haha.
Btw, I sweat alot because I walk back and forth a lot thru hills. haha
Is it Worth it? You could fix your sweating, sticking problem with the jacket by wearing a thin long sleeve or any long sleeve t-shirt to keep that annoying sticky feeling with the inside sleeve liner of the jacket

does this jacket also have a blue tint under certain lighting? The north face black antora jacket is very similar to this one but I don't like that it is not too black, it has a very slight blue/purple tint, so the black color doesn't look dark.

Since it runs small my heigh is 5’1,for boys what size should i get? Normally my size would be 14-16 16-18 but it runs small so im not sure if getting large or xlarge

I want to say for colder weather because when I wear this when its warm or hot, i sweat alot in it. But definitely still need another layer tho when you wear it in the cold cold weather.
Hey, im 1,85 Meters and im 100kg do i Need XL or L ? In the The north Face Nuptse i Wear L and in the The North Face Denali 2 i have XL But its verry big.
I would suggest going a size bigger if you want loose and size smaller if you want fitted. Also maybe try looking for this in store to try it out.

What size are you wearing
Confused by why you'd give a no for a product doing what it's designed to do. It's function and all of the features are about keeping you warm in a cold/rainy climate. If you wear a tank top out in 20 below snow storm and you get cold, it's not a problem with the tank top. It's your job to manage what clothing makes sense in a given temperature range for you, if you sweat easier than most. For someone like you, it might only make sense in colder temperatures.

It doesn't come wrinkle but if you wash it incorrectly it this happens, learn from mistake.
What’s the difference between resolve 1 and 2?
I havent really fully test out resolve 2 so not sure. I want to say different material and maybe design?
How do you wash and dry them?
I do machine wash on cold and warm air to dry.
Great video, but in my opinion, the second part of the verdict is pretty unrelevant, because it can't be "not worth it" for reasons you would want, when the product has all the attributes it pretends to have. (Being a good rain jacket.)

How tall are you because i am 5'10 and wear a Large in almost everything, i seen a guy 6'0 size Medium and 6'3 wear a large. I am a big guy due to bodybuilding so i thought a L would fit me. i was not able to try it on because they have no stock in these jackets i had to order them online and there was only 1 left in the colors i wanted but thank god they have a bunch of Medium if i need to return it.
I got a Medium and it fit just right.

If you wear it daily and sweat every time you wear it, I would say maybe wash it daily or every time you sweat. I sweat alot in this jacket so I wash it right after.

Yes and no depends on how many layers you wear and how cold
I guess it depends how cold it is .It works well as a rainjacket/windbreaker . I recommend longsleeve thermal if it is cold

Yeah its waterproof, like the water will slide off. But be careful how you wash it because it will mess up the waterproof material.

Not sure, maybe you bought a different one? I bought a different jacket from north face that looks the same but its much more baggy and looser.

The hood isn't detachable but you can roll it up and tuck it away neatly in the collar.

After a few wash, yeah rain get through the jacket a bit but not alot, it still has the waterproof material still.

Is it a jacket for the Winter
you can use it for the winter if you put on more layers inside as well. The material will generate heat when you wear it.

Suppose to be waterproof but after a few usage its no longer waterproof but it definitely keep you warm / hot after wearing the whole day.

I recommend wearing an extra layer incase. But totally doable because the interior of the jacket will heat up using your body heat.

You can wash it however you like but just know that over time the waterproof material will go away.
Usually you have to wash these products inside out.

The material has like insulation up to a certain extent. But i wouldn't say its good for like area that is super cold where it snows. Unless if you wear extra layers!

I have one of these jackets and it is a piece of garbage. The inner liner you describe as a layer to maybe keep the heat inside got all brittle and peeled while stored. Now the jacket cannot hold any kind of rain, not even the lightest. A plastic bag will work better than this overpriced thing. The jacket looks good but not really what you look for when getting technical clothing. I have a USD$40 jacket that I love and it has never failed me.
