- A brief tour of the Nepenthes veitchii section of our warm greenhouse. We need a name for our N. veitchii "Bario" female! It should start with the letter "V", and remember that since it's a female it will come first in the grex name.
Check out out Grex Naming Information page for more about our nomenclature: www.predatoryplants.com/Artic...
All of our tropical pitcher plants can be found on our website: www.predatoryplants.com/Tropic...

Awesome veitchii! Those MT Bario are massive!
Its nice seeing the my plants parents in a video, all I'm going to say is that I'm super excited for it to grow out more.
Vickey the one with the flowers 🌺
Stunning N. veitchii!
More species spotlight please! :D
Awesome and very healthy looking plant.. Nice job..
I've been enjoying your videos. An idea for a future video might be to go over the tools you use in the nursery, as well as pots, trays, fertilizers, pest control, and other equipment. That may not be as exciting to some people as a plant highlight, but I think it could be interesting and useful.
You're right. We'll start working on a series like that soon.
I like the pink one.
Vanity
That rob look massive! Do you know how big are the pitcher and how old it is?
Can you do a hybrid highlight on Nepenthes Lady Luck
sir, can you give me a tips for the absolutly condition to growth nephentes sp? are you gave a hormone??
What’s the best way to fertilize my nepenthes? I’ve been using maxsea. Ppm is 165. putting 5 mL of maxsea fertilizer in each of my pitchers every two weeks.
How about Vixen?
lol my heavennnnn
Can you say anything about the temp range you keep these at, for them to grow so beautifully? I come across people keeping them at lowland and intermediate temps.
We try to keep our lowland room above 55F at night, and it's usually 70-90F during the day. Bright, filtered sun all day, occasional fertilizer in the pitchers, and damp soil all the time.
great, thanks for sharing. Really appreciate your videos!
Voracious
Beautiful
You could name her vixen
Do a video on the robcantleyi x veitchii my rob x veitchii has good size and looks more veitchii than robcantleyi.
We've been waiting for ours to get a bit bigger before doing a feature. We have also observed a lot more veitchii traits than RC in the specimens we kept.
what about bicalcarata?
Soon. That's another plant that really looks awful for us over the winter. We should have some good ones to show off later this year though.
How about Valour?
*valor
I love them all but I don't think I've seen a Nepenthes I didn't like.
I've noticed in all your videos that the pitchers always appear full. I've read warnings from various sources that if the pitchers are over 1/3 full they can rot. Some sources even say 2 Tbsp at the most. Have you ever had problems with too much water rotting the pitchers? Maybe I'm keeping my pitchers too dry.
I can't say what will work in your specific conditions, but I have absolutely no reason to think that overfilling pitchers causes them to rot. We water overhead a few times a week, which often leads them to being totally full all the time. If your pitchers are dry, it's usually an indication that your soil is too dry and/or the humidity is too low.
Rather than rotting, the more water there is, the more the plant struggles to digest, as the acids get diluted. Filling them fully might also make the pitcher heavier, sometimes bending it. Anyway, both things are not that serious. Their hats are supposed to control that aspect. I know I'm 5 years late, I guess I'm responding to other people with your question ahah
Any tips on getting them to grow large quicker? i have a veitchii Bario and some of those leaves in the video are bigger than the entire plant. It is young of course but I would like to expedite growth with any tips that you might be willing to share, thanks
If you're looking for rapid growth, you can try to grow the plants in bright light and fertilize aggressively. It's usually best to just let them do what they want to do though.
Valhalla could work :)

Wait, really? Thanks guys :D
Never contacted me back regarding said "seed-grown veitchii hybrid" and its been over a month. You've posted other videos though and those are always top quality, keep up the good work.
Please check your private UA-cam messages. We replied to you asking for your email address.
I did reply with my address and even tried to contact you on Instagram, not a big deal. I can re-send my address. Y'all must get a lot of messages and mine just slipped through or something. I can send you a private dm on Instagram showing I replied the first time if it matters. Thanks for the timely reply.
