How to change miles to KMs distance on Garmin Forerunner and Fenix watches

Quickly change the miles to KMs on your Garmin Forerunner or Fenix GPS running watch. Garmin Connect isn't enough to make the changes in some circumstances so with a very settings tweaks you'll be on your way to altering the distance easily.

@@kholidaliakbar7106 i think you need to change it on the garmin connect app too. So to change it on the watch and on the phone app. My problem now is that I got it all set to metric, but it notified me with vibrations only when 1 mile is complete 😂 makes absolutely no sense.

Would be so much easier if there was a one touch option to cycle between km/m during a run (or even an option to display both km and m simultaneously). It's not practical to do 20 button presses during a run and although it is possible to do a mental conversion this is quite challenging after 13 miles. That's my biggest criticism with the forerunner.

I had no problem setting distance measurements to km but my Fenix continues to mark off my splits in miles. Infuriating and I can’t find any advice on how to change the split distance.

I found it eventually. It is the definition of your lap distance that needs to be reset from 1.61 km to 1.00 km, even after you have reset units to metric
