If you really cared for her and did all the things possible to make her happy and she still left you or made you feel alone, then she doesn't deserve to be with you. Do not waste your precious time and energy in chasing someone who doesn't reciprocate your feelings. You deserve someone a lot better. So just make a decision to never ever get back with her again. Because it's better to be alone than to be with someone who makes you feel alone. Also remember that no matter how good you think a person is, they can ALWAYS be replaced.
While it's true that some relationships are beyond salvageable and should not be rekindled( i.e.: abuse, numerous instances of cheating, etc.), some are still worth saving and can still be saved if you're not being too passive about it, so it depends. In other words, if it's worth it, give it another try, but if it isn't, simply let go. It all depends on what type of relationship you have and your feelings about it and whether or not you want to fight for it. Good luck!
This happened to me, I tried so hard in every single way to make her happy. She has had a difficult life with a lot of bad relationships so I wanted to be the best she ever had and try to make her happy. Now she lost attraction to me and we broke up like 2 weeks ago. I've been feeling so much better and I've been doing exercises everyday. We are still on speaking terms and I can tell she wants me back, I want her back badly because I love her so much. Yes, ignore them, but just in case your ex continues to message you, then it’s important to put your ex’s messages into context, especially if this happened during the “no contact” phase. Is your ex trying to contact you about something really important, like an emergency, unpaid bills, or something equally urgent? If not, and your ex is really just texting some useless random stuff and/or asses his/her power over you, then you can just ignore and continue on with the 30-day "no contact" rule. You need closure. A final one that too if you guys don't see yourself together. It can come in many ways, like self development, taking up a hobby or sports and dedicating yourself to it, learning something new every month and getting good at it. It has worked for me, me. My point is, our brain doesn't differentiate between what's perceived and what is happening, so when we miss people, brain assumes that they should be here or else everything in life will be mundane. You have to get rid of that part. On the other hand , if you do see yourself together , sought out the differences and get back together this time for life, 8 years is too much investment into missing someone 😄
Shayan Khan If he wanted to be with her, he would be. I would say there are 2 possibilities, he doesn't want to be with her, or he isn't much of a man. Either way, she needs to move on and stop keeping herself stuck. I've often romanticize the relationship after it has ended, clinging on to the good. I have wasted a lot of time. The relationship ended for a reason, move on with your life, live. If he mans up one day, he will find her more attractive because she has developed her own life. Or perhaps and even better, she develops a wonderful life for herself and some other more deserving wonderful man enters it and she forgets about this guy.

My ex reached out to me on the 30th day exactly with no contact rule. Turns out she was just 'checking in' to make sure I didn't move on. . Three stages of a breakup are sad-mad-glad. The key is to get past sad first and quickly to the 'mad' stage as this is easier to deal with. But don't stay there long, it's not healthy to be mad. . I don't believe advice that says "accept that it's over". Don't do this in the early stages as it will throw you into despair. Keep hope alive that you will get back together...........until it just turns into indifference. Indifference is really what you want.
You have to be strong during this period! If your ex really cares for you and loves you they will miss you just as much as YOU miss them!! Love is a TWO way street! Silence is the best way to make someone aware of what they used to have, how good you actually were to them. It really helped me and my ex to build a stronger relationship once we finally talked again after a period of absolute silence from one another. Be strong stay silent but don't let your pride get the best of you. Always know when you deserve better when you reflect on yourself during this period of silence. Remember to forgive and restore!

Any sane person would not want their ex to crawl back out of desperation instead of solving the problems that caused the separation in the first place. What you teach is the perfect base of an emotionally unbalanced raltionship.
Is it? Does giving each other space not help people realize your own mistakes in the relationship and get to that level of clearheadedness to help resolve the issues in the first place? The only 'imbalance" I see here is if one partner keeps chasing the other person and this is why I always suggest the 30-day "no contact" rule first, since it helps them from doing that and all the other common mistakes associated with the breakup.
+Brad Browning I agree that space is good but.... lots of negligent partners have personality disorders and the idea behind that space should be time for the dumped person not just to manipulate the ex back but to take stock of the truth of the relationship. it's very soul destroying to value oneself according to the whims of another person. I'm nervous it may not work for me because he still talks to his exes here and there and they don't really contact him but he doesn't have feelings for them so I don't understand what I'm supposed to do but on the bright side I've been his longest relationship and deepest

What should I do? My girlfriend broke up with me like two weeks ago and it made me miserable. We talked constantly 3 days after the break up but then she said she can't talk to me anymore but I continued to try and talk to her so she began to ignore me. after one day of me not texting her she texted me how I was doing and talking like a normal conversation. The no contact rule only works if your ex still loves you... but if he left you, he probably doesn't love you anymore, so why should he miss you? I don't care at all if my ex disappears from my radar because I simply don't love him anymore. The only thing I will think is "Finally! He stopped harassing me all the time" so I can breathe again and start a new life.

Sometimes, people stay in relationships even though it's already clearly over out of comfort, fear, co-dependency, etc -- not healthy. Your advice of disappearing is correct and sensible. But when you disappear and she wants to forget the past, she then starts finding ways to forget you by speaking/chatting with other guys. Girls they themselves think that speaking or getting flirted by other guy makes them happy and forget about the past. See it's like after a breakup if another guy comes and flirts with your ex, she'll enjoy definitely and find that way to get rid of past. I have been trying to contact my ex in all ways because he blocked me in everything. Your best bet is still to COMPLETELY cut off contact and yes, it will work in a sense to where you get to clear your mind to be in a better position to deal with an ex when the time comes - instead of letting emotions overrule everything, risking things to get blown out of proportion even further. I agree. If your ex has depression, the most loving thing you can do is to give each other space while he/she gets help. It's totally okay to cry your eyes out (just NOT in front of your ex), this is healthy, but try to balance it with other stuff. So keep your mind occupied, get busy with a lot of stuff like hobbies, work, etc. focus on what makes you feel good and take time to heal as well. I have been with my ex for 3 years. I have known him for 4. He is 20 and I'm 18. I have always been there for him and put my complete and utter trust in him. He has always put himself around the wrong group of friends. They all took pills and did drugs. He always told me that he never did any hard drugs, just smoked marijuana. I trusted him because he was my partner. Recently his very best friend died from mixing pills and alcohol. His heart stopped. I was at school and work while his friend was in the hospital in a medical induced coma. I only visited on the third day when he was pronounced brain dead. He told me that he needed my utter most support and I told him it was hard for me because they shouldn't have been doing those kinds of things. He broke up with me for good because I wasn't there at the hospital in the time he needed me the most. I had school and work and I told him if he needed me there then to call and I'd be right there. He replied with an okay, so I felt more pushed away than needed. So right after he broke up with me 4 people confirmed to me that he had been taking pills frequently and has done other forms of drugs. He had been mean to me and I had noticed personality changed months before. I still trusted him though. Every couple of days I would message him and ask how he's been bacuse his best friend did die and I still loved him. He never replied to any of my texts and made it clear it was over. I feel betrayed that he was using drugs and lying to me. I blocked him from all social media and have not made anymore contact. Will he ever realize I only wanted what was best for him and to care for him?
The no contact rule is actually worth trying, I didn't talk to my ex for I think 16 days and she started getting desperate and asked me to go back out! 😉

Hi Brad, my current boyfriend and I have been living together for 2 years. My boyfriend really respects and admires my father. And my father does not condone drinking. When we first moved in together my father came over and saw some beer in our fridge. My boyfriend apologized to him and told him he would never drink again. Give him some time to miss you first, he'd likely snap out it once he realizes his part on this issue. I've been going through a bad break up, but I gave my all and my best to that person and he left me... Seems that I'm never enough I'm like the sweetest person ever I'm a helpless romantic I'll treat you like a king, I'm faithful and always about you. Most of the time, a lot of people would move on, but a few would still fight for the relationship, so this all depends which side you're on and what your views are. It counts as long as there's zero communication between you two. No contact means cutting off communication with your ex in any way, shape or form for at least 30 days. It also means ignoring unimportant or random messages from your ex for at least 30 days straight. This also involves NOT looking at any of your ex's online profiles so you won't overthink things. In other words, the "no contact" period is a time where you fully focus on yourself and take time to heal.

Yeeaaaah, well... some issues here. I'm a 31 year old male with some experiences. 1. DO you really want her back? That is the first thing you should always ask yourself. Try shutting you loneliness down for a sec and really think twice: DO you want her back? Don't buy into the illusion of "the only one" - you CHOSE the "only one" and she does so as well. If she crushed your heart, does she then really deserve it? 2. My ex was an introvert, very shy, very soft - charming and beautiful. It made me feel alpha. She loved me like crazy. In the relationship, I myself started to doubt if I wanted it. Why? She was boring, could never communicate. I felt alone IN the relationship. But I was addicted to her addiction to me. Anyway.. she had and still have some very deep issues with herself and she was extremely focused on planing the future. What I'm trying to say is this: some (in this case) women will be so stubborn, so scared of the future that she will break up with you because of it. Not because of you. And no cheap strategy (like this video even if it in some cases is true) can change that. She has shut off. Don't focus getting your ex back. No. Focus on yourself - the woman will come later.
If you're only into her because she's into you, then perhaps there is a problem with it in the first place. Love is supposed to be an unconditional feeling for someone not something that's based on certain "conditions."

Since the loss is still too soon, it's only fair that you may still be in the denial stage, which is a way for your mind to cope with the breakup -- and is completely normal. My man and I were together for 2+ years. At 34 and 35, this is long enough to know if it's what you want or not, at least to me it was... after my 34th bday, reality kicked in and I got anxious. I asked my man "what are we doing? Are you ever going to marry me?" And he said he needed more time... we decided to take a week long break to "think things over" apart from eachother. At the end of that, he still said he didn't know. Anxiety (once again) kicked in, and I put the words in his mouth... "oh my gosh, you want to break up with me!" So we broke up. I was devastated. Totally lashed out when I had to see him a few days later to get things at his place. We didn't talk for a couple weeks, and eventually had a brunch to "talk things over." He said he would think about starting over... that was back in March. It is now July... we have hung out quite a few times, mostly fun, but occasionally we lash out. I love this man so much, and know he is afraid of commitment from some previous experiences... What can I do to get him back? Or is it time to move on? I recently started "no contact" about a week ago, and so far so good. I feel stronger and more hopeful about either outcome. Two big questions though: How do you do "no contact" if you live(d) together, have a dog and chickens together - (shared duties)? And 2) Is it best to move my things out so he misses me and I can move on? If so, do I move out all at once? Or do it more gradually?... Btw, I am anxious-insecurely attached, and he is avoidant-insecure...
Give it time and let him miss you first. I can't guarantee he'll want to marry you then but I suggest to never pressure him into it. Let him marry you because he wants to, and not because you're forcing him. lol I hope that makes sense?

don't expect your ex to warm up easily. Getting an ex back is a process. Look out for the signs that your ex has moved on, though: y2u.be/TnZzeEIPEik But evaluate things, too. Are you sure you're not trying to rush it? Setting a deadline is a good way to fail when it comes to exes, so I highly discourage it. What steps have you taken to get your ex back? It's time to re-assess those and see what's working versus what's not working. Sometimes, getting an ex back is like trying to fit a square into a circle, but oftentimes, chances are you're letting emotion dictate you and therefore end up making the wrong choices. If you really cared for her and did all the things possible to make her happy and she still left you or made you feel alone, then she doesn't deserve to be with you. Do not waste your precious time and energy in chasing someone who doesn't reciprocate your feelings. You deserve someone a lot better. So just make a decision to never ever get back with her again. Because it's better to be alone than to be with someone who makes you feel alone. Also remember that no matter how good you think a person is, they can ALWAYS be replaced.
While it's true that some relationships are beyond salvageable and should not be rekindled( i.e.: abuse, numerous instances of cheating, etc.), some are still worth saving and can still be saved if you're not being too passive about it, so it depends. In other words, if it's worth it, give it another try, but if it isn't, simply let go. It all depends on what type of relationship you have and your feelings about it and whether or not you want to fight for it. Good luck!

This happened to me, I tried so hard in every single way to make her happy. She has had a difficult life with a lot of bad relationships so I wanted to be the best she ever had and try to make her happy. Now she lost attraction to me and we broke up like 2 weeks ago. I've been feeling so much better and I've been doing exercises everyday.
We are still on speaking terms and I can tell she wants me back, I want her back badly because I love her so much. But i wont show weakness no more I have to change and better myself. Even if we do get back together I ain't the same guy she knew, I'm new and improved now.

You need closure. A final one that too if you guys don't see yourself together. It can come in many ways, like self development, taking up a hobby or sports and dedicating yourself to it, learning something new every month and getting good at it. It has worked for me, me. My point is, our brain doesn't differentiate between what's perceived and what is happening, so when we miss people, brain assumes that they should be here or else everything in life will be mundane. You have to get rid of that part.

You have to be strong during this period! If your ex really cares for you and loves you they will miss you just as much as YOU miss them!! Love is a TWO way street! Silence is the best way to make someone aware of what they used to have, how good you actually were to them. It really helped me and my ex to build a stronger relationship once we finally talked again after a period of absolute silence from one another. What should I do? My girlfriend broke up with me like two weeks ago and it made me miserable. Your advice of disappearing is correct and sensible. But when you disappear and she wants to forget the past, she then starts finding ways to forget you by speaking/chatting with other guys. Girls they themselves think that speaking or getting flirted by other guy makes them happy and forget about the past. See it's like after a breakup if another guy comes and flirts with your ex, she'll enjoy definitely and find that way to get rid of past. I have been trying to contact my ex in all ways because he blocked me in everything. Your best bet is still to COMPLETELY cut off contact and yes, it will work in a sense to where you get to clear your mind to be in a better position to deal with an ex when the time comes - instead of letting emotions overrule everything, risking things to get blown out of proportion even further. Make sense? But will no contact ALONE work to get your ex back? Yes, it's a different set of rules if you live together. If you still live with your ex, then do limited contact with your ex where you only discuss the essentials. It's totally okay to cry your eyes out (just NOT in front of your ex), this is healthy, but try to balance it with other stuff. So keep your mind occupied, get busy with a lot of stuff like hobbies, work, etc. focus on what makes you feel good and take time to heal as well. I have been with my ex for 3 years. I have known him for 4. He is 20 and I'm 18. I have always been there for him and put my complete and utter trust in him. He has always put himself around the wrong group of friends. They all took pills and did drugs. He always told me that he never did any hard drugs, just smoked marijuana. I trusted him because he was my partner. Recently his very best friend died from mixing pills and alcohol. His heart stopped. I was at school and work while his friend was in the hospital in a medical induced coma. I only visited on the third day when he was pronounced brain dead. He told me that he needed my utter most support and I told him it was hard for me because they shouldn't have been doing those kinds of things. He broke up with me for good because I wasn't there at the hospital in the time he needed me the most. I had school and work and I told him if he needed me there then to call and I'd be right there. He replied with an okay, so I felt more pushed away than needed. So right after he broke up with me 4 people confirmed to me that he had been taking pills frequently and has done other forms of drugs. He had been mean to me and I had noticed personality changed months before. I still trusted him though. Every couple of days I would message him and ask how he's been bacuse his best friend did die and I still loved him. He never replied to any of my texts and made it clear it was over. I feel betrayed that he was using drugs and lying to me. I blocked him from all social media and have not made anymore contact. Will he ever realize I only wanted what was best for him and to care for him?

Hi Brad, my current boyfriend and I have been living together for 2 years. My boyfriend really respects and admires my father. And my father does not condone drinking. When we first moved in together my father came over and saw some beer in our fridge. My boyfriend apologized to him and told him he would never drink again. Since then him and my father have been very close. Recently me and my boyfriend got into an argument while he was drinking. And obviously that influenced some of the things he said to me. Give him some time to miss you first, he'd likely snap out it once he realizes his part on this issue. Sorry to hear that. There's no easy way to say this but the answer is is to move on, especially if your ex doesn't seem to be regretting their actions and asking to get back together. Most of the time, a lot of people would move on, but a few would still fight for the relationship, so this all depends which side you're on and what your views are. It counts as long as there's zero communication between you two. No contact means cutting off communication with your ex in any way, shape or form for at least 30 days. It also means ignoring unimportant or random messages from your ex for at least 30 days straight. This also involves NOT looking at any of your ex's online profiles so you won't overthink things. In other words, the "no contact" period is a time where you fully focus on yourself and take time to heal.

Yeeaaaah, well... some issues here. I'm a 31 year old male with some experiences.
1. DO you really want her back? That is the first thing you should always ask yourself. Try shutting you loneliness down for a sec and really think twice: DO you want her back? Don't buy into the illusion of "the only one" - you CHOSE the "only one" and she does so as well. If she crushed your heart, does she then really deserve it?
2. My ex was an introvert, very shy, very soft - charming and beautiful. It made me feel alpha. She loved me like crazy. In the relationship, I myself started to doubt if I wanted it. Why? She was boring, could never communicate. I felt alone IN the relationship. But I was addicted to her addiction to me. Anyway.. she had and still have some very deep issues with herself and she was extremely focused on planing the future. What I'm trying to say is this: some (in this case) women will be so stubborn, so scared of the future that she will break up with you because of it. Not because of you. And no cheap strategy (like this video even if it in some cases is true) can change that. She has shut off.
Don't focus getting your ex back. No. Focus on yourself - the woman will come later.
If you're only into her because she's into you, then perhaps there is a problem with it in the first place. Love is supposed to be an unconditional feeling for someone not something that's based on certain "conditions."

I'm very sorry to hear that. Moving on is a process that is broken down into many stages. Since the loss is still too soon, it's only fair that you may still be in the denial stage, which is a way for your mind to cope with the breakup -- and is completely normal. Just be more kind to yourself right now and understand that what you're going through is part of the grieving process. Okay? My man and I were together for 2+ years. At 34 and 35, this is long enough to know if it's what you want or not, at least to me it was... after my 34th bday, reality kicked in and I got anxious. I asked my man "what are we doing? Are you ever going to marry me?" And he said he needed more time... we decided to take a week long break to "think things over" apart from eachother. At the end of that, he still said he didn't know. Anxiety (once again) kicked in, and I put the words in his mouth... "oh my gosh, you want to break up with me!"
So we broke up.
I was devastated. Totally lashed out when I had to see him a few days later to get things at his place. We didn't talk for a couple weeks, and eventually had a brunch to "talk things over." He said he would think about starting over... that was back in March. It is now July... we have hung out quite a few times, mostly fun, but occasionally we lash out. I love this man so much, and know he is afraid of commitment from some previous experiences...
What can I do to get him back? Or is it time to move on?
I recently started "no contact" about a week ago, and so far so good. I feel stronger and more hopeful about either outcome.
Two big questions though:

Give it time and let him miss you first. I can't guarantee he'll want to marry you then but I suggest to never pressure him into it. Let him marry you because he wants to, and not because you're forcing him. lol I hope that makes sense?
