Of all the Amon Amarth songs, that has got to be one of their most boring ones lol. I'd suggest something from Jomsviking, personally. First Kill, The Way of Vikings, Wanderer, Vengeance is My Name, One Against All. All of them infinitely better than Twilight of the Thunder God.

@@absolutumdominiumx I freaking love Jömsviking! I'm not overly familiar with AA's earlier work to be honest. The reason I suggested Twilight is because it feels more like a single, where I feel Jömsviking should be listened to in one sitting, especially the first time.

I love this song. I'm still learning about this band. Thankfully my 17 yo son is a big fan of theirs, so he's helping me on my journey with them. So Good! They have that perfect mix of power metal and '80s riffs.🤘

Being an elder statesman of Heavy Metal....here's my bold statement. I had the same reaction listening to Apex for the first time was the same as listening to Operation Mindcrime for the first time, many years ago....I was blown away.
Britney used to bartend at a pub I was a chef at. She is one of the coolest, easy going and insanely talented singers I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. Rest of the band is amazing as well. The guitarists have been playing together for over a decade and always produce amazing material. Andy “King” Saunders is an exceptionally well rounded musician and song writer.
What I love most about Brittney is how expertly she nails the power metal singing style.

Apex is my best album of 2017. Not a bad track on it. I’m particularly fond of Earth and Ashes, and Ten Thousand against one. I knew after listening to awakening I had found another band that’s an auto buy when they release anything.
I just actually got into this band, thanks to you. I love them, and I get such a Rob Halford/Bruce Dickinson vibe from Brittany. The band, as a whole and from my small sample size, gives me a strong Iron Maiden vibe, from the galloping bass and drums, to the excellent harmonizing on the guitars.
Consider me a fan, Mr. Rock N Roll :)
Finally!!! I've never clicked on a video so fast, lol. That be Brittney Slayes. In the list of 'Greatest Opening Tracks' this has to be right up there. You owe it to yourself to go listen to the whole album, cos it's a concept album and there isn't a single bad track on it. At the very least do Cleanse The Bloodlines and the title track, Apex. Awesome stuff.

Apex is the best album I've heard in years. It's a concept album, and there's a sequel in 2020 supposedly to continue / finish the story. It's one of those "I love every song on it" albums.

Yeah as a few has said below here, its time for Arch Enemy! 👌 if you want some powerful female growling and awesome guitar riffs/solos I think that Arch E is up there with the best ones.

About the video editing ... Pretty sure they filmed in 4K and then did a 1080 pan to track the bassists hand. Makes for a very cool effect.
To me it seems they specifically tracked the second knuckle on his ring finger. It stays in the center of the screen. Just an AWESOME visual!

Two other bands I will suggest Arch Enemy with both their old singer and new singer ... Apocalypse for Angela and War Eternal for Alissa. And for the second band, I am starting to listen to some more by a band called Rage of Light and their lead singer Melissa Bonny. Melissa is pretty good, the band is little more on the weak side though. Would still love to see your reaction to Mechanicals.

Just a side note: I caught your comment on how the female vocalist are kinda blowing your mind. They have all had vocal training to some extent & all are mezzo soprano. The bands behind them all have had training as well. You my friend are now listening to vocalist & musicians dedicated to their craft that have worked their butts off to do what they do. I'm not saying there aren't good singers & players out there but when you raise the bar to vocalist & musicians well it's just a whole new level.

Apex is at least in my top ten of most played albums since it dropped :D the whole thing is a masterpiece!
you get so many different suggestions, mine would be:
BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance live in Japan
(the song was a collaboration with Dragonforce guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman who contributed a few guitar parts for the studio version, which is quite apparent)
High energy and epicness included, i hope the language barrier wont be a problem tho. (They're japanese)

More from UTA I have to recommend is well, ALL of their album Apex, as well as Time Stands Still. But individual songs gotta be Tonight We Ride, Test Your Metal. and Cleanse the Bloodlines. LOTS of others, too many to list in one comment. UTA is just that damn good lmao.

I love the slight tempo shift towards the end. It is subtle, I missed it the first handful of times listening to it, but it is there. It just adds to the punch the band has when they kick it back to full for the last rift.
Yes, as stated before, "Test Your Metal" really shows her metal voice. It's a bit older song but is my favorite from them. ✌PS: new sub here.

Having said this, and in the words of a few certain englishmen, "and now for something completely diferent", write this down, Ningen Isu, a japanese band composed by 3 fifty year old something dudes, that have been rocking out in Japan for 30 years.
You gonna love them, they're quite something, and I'de sugest Ningen Isu - Heartless Scat, wich is the song that started to make them known outside of Japan's little bubble, or to see them live, Ningen Isu-Namahage, wich is quite amazing!
Don't feel bad. It took me a while to warm up to them. Once i sat down and listened to this album start to finish it all clicked. Now i'm hooked.

I've been waiting for this one! One of my favorite bands. Try Time Stands Still, Matriarch or really anything from their Apex album. Also i think you would really enjoy Eluveitie-Rebirth. It is heavy folk metal, an insane song. Subbed.
Mr. Rock N Roll brother, Eluveitie is on another level. Without spoiling too much, the band has members playing medieval instruments.
