Who can tell me where I’m at in this video?????
@@JackOllie4 after I made this comment I realized I also #’ed it in the title too!!!! HAHAHA! I never claimed to be smart! Lol!
Crater Lake maybe?
Ummm....what is that moving behind you toward the end of this video?!😳
Heaven? Where I live, I thought was stunning, but your location.....breathtaking. Your fan from beautiful Prince Edward Island.
Definitely not here in England!!!
National Geographic meets hairstyling tips ♥️🙌🏼♥️

Why am I 45 and just now learning this?? I mean, I have only asked EVERY SINGLE HAIR PROFESSIONAL for the last 25 years and every one of them said, "Uhm, it's really about what you prefer..." Thank you for finally answering this question! Also, I am so glad you love our state and highlighted it.
You’re so welcome! I’m really glad I could help. I appreciate the support. And how cool that you live in this area as well! Whereabouts do you live?
Damn....the story of my life! 😭 Although, I know majority that is said, but I'm in everlasting quest for a great haircut. At least a mere advice. Smart, logical one. But noooo....to paraphrase a "soup Nazi" in "Seinfeld": "NO ANSWER/ADVICE FOR YOU!!!" 😏
Hairdressers near me suck bad!!! I do my own hair now never been so healthy
My experience is that no hairdresser I have ever encountered in my 72 years has the skills to offer customers real professional advice and knowledge. They all want to do whatever the customer tells them to do so they can't be blamed for anything. They have no real skills, very little to offer. I'd rather try to cut my own hair, but it's just too awkward.
I'd like for this very professional and talented hairdresser to tell us (and most hairdressers) how to communicate with one another in order to have the hairdresser apply whatever skills they have in a knowledgeable manner. Maybe the problem is that there is very little real talent to be found.
I agree with all the above....if you think the west coast is stunning, come visit the Great Lakes State!
“I’m gonna throw up!” Lol. Thank you so much for giving us good humour, great scenery, and expert hair advice. Love your work 😍
I LOVE your videos, Justin! At 65 yrs. old, I always learn something from you and can we talk about your venues??!!?? Not only are your uploads informational, your ASMR videos are a gift to the senses, which with COVID-19 lockdowns, we desperately need. I always listen to them twice; the first time, I listen to content, then the second viewing, I turn off the sound and just enjoy the scenery!! Keep 'em coming!
xoxo from Texas
That’s awesome! I’m so glad to hear that. Thank you so much for the support and I really appreciate the feedback. I Love creating this style of content so it’s always nice to hear that people are liking it. Thanks again.
Thank you for this.. These millenials and xyzgen have recently "decided" that parting side hair is just not "in" anymore... And it feels good to watch a stylist like you who lets everyone understand that whatever style you are in - side part, middle or even going bald is not about what's being on trend. Thanks for clarifying it to the world that it is all about what you are "comfortable" with and what makes you look and feel beautiful. 👏😊
I’m so glad you caught all of that from this video! It’s SO true! Being “in trend” is pointless if you feel uncomfortable! Confidence is ALWAYS the trend we want to lead with!
That generation also decided looking beautiful is not a concern... So..
Always feel like center part NEVER WORKS if you have a strong calico.
Thr center part simply reminds me of Cher and her long hair... on everyone.
Such a beautiful video! All these tips especially the volume and the length of the layer(s) with regards to parting of the hair are so crucial. Most of us never consider these things when deciding the hair cut but you look at whole picture and not zone out just the hair!
How am I just now finding this channel?! I’m 48 and have become so frustrated paying $240 almost every 5-6 weeks to cover up my stubborn gray but never happy with my color. You are SO likable :-) and totally speaking to all the issues I’ve been having! Thank you so much!!
I hope you ended up trying to go gray. It was so freeing for me!!
I've been trying central parting for years but it always looks odd and I couldn't tell why. I'm finally understanding that it's because my face is quite asymmetrical. Thank you !
So glad to find hair stylist who can articulate I always tell my hairstylist to do it in the middle because every day is different and I don’t know where I want to part. Very informative thank you I would love more . Maybe you can open up with some answering questions from viewers that might be a fun video I have questions❤️❤️
I just had my hair trimmed the other day. The stylist parted my hair on the wrong side from the way I do before she started to cut. I mentioned that to her and she said"it didn't matter, but she did then part on the correct side. Now I know it does matter. Thank you Justin. Glad you are enjoying all those wonderful hikes.
I think the stylist probably just meant that the part doesn't matter for the purposes of cutting hair.
I am a side parter and had no idea of the variations! Thank you for your insight
Awesome! Glad I could shed some insight for ya! The crazy thing is I only covered the main parting styles, I didn’t even get into all the funky partings people use. It surprises me how many different ways to part your hair there are too!!!
Good to know! Love the locations! So cool! Yes, pretty much always - my professional cut layers have turned up ‘uneven’ - and I end up correcting my cut at home…
As always, you provide both amazing views and a wealth of content and useful info. I've always been a side parter (right side) but thanks to you I got into the habit of switching sides on occasion to add volume. I find that switching the part back and forth also seems to be helping disguise my thinning hair issues at the front top of my hair (which I hate with a virulent passion!). And, did I mention that those views don't suck?!?! And Justin hits another video out of the park!
You rock! Thank you so much! I always appreciate your support. And yes I got pretty lucky with the views, they definitely didn’t suck!
Thank you for your hair style lessons and hikes in the beautiful outdoors!!! I’ve learned so much from you!
Thank you! That really makes me happy to hear. I appreciate the support for sure!
OMG.... that shot off the edge of the cliff! My heart was in my mouth, bet yours was too! Absolutely stunning spot yet again! Thanks so much for taking us there, it was absolutely amazing! I can't do middle parts, or parts on the left side of my head... because I've got a stupid massive cowlick on the right hand temple, and I can only do, as you can imagine, right hand straight or right hand diagonal parts!!! GRRRRRR!
Having very fine curly hair, diagonally side parting my hair has been the best thing for my face and hair.
I live 8 miles away from that view! It’s snowing there right now 😁❄️⛄️ Good information in this video. Thanks a bunch!
You are so welcome! I bet it's amazing in the snow!!!!!
I feel that way about Sedona! My favorite place to go and it never gets old.
What gorgeous views!! I so appreciate you showing the beauty of nature while talking about the creative process of enhancing a person’s beauty! I wear my hair with a off-center part. That seems to work the best for me. I also tuck one side behind my ear. 😊
I found my natural part and my stylist balances my cut so I can do what my hair wants too. Mind of its own..😊
Amazing what different partings can achieve. Love your advice. X
Thank you! And yes, it’s crazy how much hair is an optical illusion. Small differences make large Impacts
I love it when you do these outdoor videos!
Plus, I learned how to part my hair for my best overall look. I have permanent bells palsy that makes half my face paralyzed (mostly, I did get some function back). As I age, the "normal" side will wrinkle and sag, but the other won't as much. It's not a big deal for me.. beyond ppl asking why I don't smile in pics. I think it looks goofy lol!
Tysm Justin 🤗😊
Best face forward, surrounded by the best hair 😁
PS thanks to you I'm happier with my hair than ever before. I've always done my own color and trims. But, with your help, I've done my own cuts, styles, dealt with my cowlick (right in front, thanks Mom!) and even returned to my natural color. I'll have to take some new pics change my profile avi. I'd love your feedback.
This is definitely one of my favorite views so far!!!.. amazing!!!... and the video doesn’t suck, either!!!!
Thank you! And right....the views there are SILLY!
Just love all the places you show us! Love the hair tips too! Thank you so much!
Omg!!!... this view is stunning!!!... I just started watching!!!!
Hey!!! It’s crazy right! Not gonna lie, the trail getting up there was making me super nervous. Not a huge fan of narrow trails with super high drops on one side....and lose gravel on the trail.
@@justinhickox I don’t blame you for being nervous!!!!... I was getting queasy just watching in some spots... hahaha... #OGCommunityRockstar
Some great info & spectacular views!! You definitely have an eye for beauty. Whether its hair or the mountains tops, creativity is definitely your gift.
Just wanted to mention, another factor in hair parting (or at least for me). I have a cow~lick, some call it a widow's peak. It's always been a big factor in how I part or trim my bangs. So one side of my hair (bangs) always shrinks up more than the other side. I cut that side (that shrinks up), just a little bit longer than the other side. Also, I blow dry my bangs forward, then let my part, and bangs fall where they will. Just something I've learned over years, so that my bangs don't look lopsided.
Thanks again for sharing your expertise. Its such an unselfish act of kindness.
Thank you so much! I appreciate that a ton! I love this insight too....you're spot on! Thanks for sharing that insight!
Phenomenal cinematic experience... thank you SO much for sharing this, Justin!... I have been feeling kind of down, this helped so much!!!!.. much love and appreciation!!!.. great tips, too!!
Hey! So sorry to hear that you’ve been going through a tough time! I hope you start feeling better soon! Glad to know that I could help a little bit, thank you for the continued support! #OGCommunityRockstar!
@@justinhickox btw, Happy Birthday, my guy!!!!!... have an amazing day!!!!💜💜💜💜💜
Great advice and insights Justin. I love your videos, especially because I get to see some of the natural beauty of your country along with fantastc hair tips. The views definitely don't suck!! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I’m so glad to hear you’re liking them!!! I appreciate the support a ton!
Another great hair video and I love the adventures you take us too! Beautiful footage!
Thanks so much! I'm SO glad people are liking the adventures.....it's probably my favorite part of creating this content! I appreciate the support!
Thanks for bringing back memories of one of my favorite places to hike, Justin!
You're so welcome! I can FULLY understand why its your favorite!
I appreciate your comprehensive information. Also the views! Lyn
Thanks for the tips and loved the scenery!
New subbie here. I’m addicted. Thanks Justin!! I’m going on 65 in a month and want to look a wee bit younger. Thanks for the tips. No shame in getting older especially with scenery like you’re showing. 👀🥾🌾🏔
Absolutely gorgeous views! Thank you for the great tips ❤️
Love your videos of nature and hair tips. Very original and entertaining. Magnificent views! Love ❤️ from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Justin, the 100000 is in sight 👍 .
You deserve many more subscribers, but I think that's a (first) milestone and you can be so proud.
Love you, your beautiful wife, your knowledge, your channel, your tips and tricks and the views you show us while hiking.
Sending greetings from Germany, Sabine 😘
Just found your channel - now I'm binge watching all I've missed. Would/could you please educate those of us with fine, thin curly hair? Would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Thank you so much for the support! And welcome to the family! I appreciate the suggestion, I will definitely be creating more videos on curly hair. Looking forward to doing that this year. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thank you for the Beautiful places your showing.🙏,22 year Hairdresser, going on my own again!
I know you filmed this a year ago but it’s the first time I’m seeing it!! Thanks for the tips on side parts. I have a full face and typically part it on the same side. I didn’t know that if I try to side part it on the other side, it might 10:22 be uneven. It’s certainly a different color but I don’t mind that at all.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I learn something from every video! Those views are breathtaking!!! Be blessed.
Thank you! That makes me so happy to hear. I really appreciate the support and the feedback.
I'm from Bend, Oregon! At the beginning I was looking at the landscape and saw the Juniper trees by the parking lot and thought that really looks like Central Oregon. Sure enough: Smith Rocks!
I’m so jealous! I would love to move to bend some day. My wife and I are actually looking for property right now east of us but we are looking in Eastern Washington surely do to income tax. LOL however band is my dream home for sure. I love that area. And Smith rocks is amazing.
Great topic. Your cinematic skills are growing and developing into the professional arena. Love it!
Thank you so much for that! I definitely love the videography side and I’m definitely trying to learn and improve. I’m excited because next month I’m heading to visit another UA-cam her friend, who is much better at videography than I am. I can’t wait to learn more skills and up my game.
Slept in your car for us? You’re awesome! Thanks for the interesting information and the fantastic views!!!!
Absolutely! I’m happy to. I love being able to bring you guys incredible views and to be honest, I get as much enjoyment out of the views as you sell sleeping my car is a small price to pay. I appreciate so much your support.
Great tips. Thank you. Love the sense of humor!
Wow, I'm really liking the adventures you're taking us on. I still need to make it out to the Bend area and John Day. So beautiful... Thank you. And thanks for the hair tips, too!

🤔 Who woulda thought?
Thanks for the awesome tips, and that looks like a fantastic hike! 🧘♀️
You’re so welcome! Glad I could help. And yes, that hike is absolutely amazing. One of my favorite so far.
I tend to flip my hair around but I have a natural parting just off centre that often wins! 😂🙄 Really interesting tips, I’ll try out different parts with more knowledge and curiosity from now on. Great scenery as always!
Awesome! And flipping back-and-forth throughout the day isn’t a bad thing either, there are definitely some pros to that. I appreciate the support and I’m glad I could help.
Best videos ever! Two for one! Beautiful scenery and usable content! I may have to drive to Portland just to get my hair cut from you. :)
Overwhelming info on a simple adjustment to hair! Sheeeeew! lol I feel like screaming really LOUD after watching this! 😆😆
I love watching you, you're so interesting and I love the scenic views, they DON'T suck!!!💘 I drove and slept in my car...who can't love a guy who does that?!
Hi Mr Justin..your content is so unique.it shows you think it through....love how you mix the nature with your hairstyling skill tips! thank you!..ps that white duck seemed to be of a domestic origin!
I appreciate that! I'm so glad you're liking the videos. There were some really cool ducks and other birds around there for sure! I don't know what any of them are....but they're cool! :)

Love your videos. They’re so full of information!! I wish you were closer to Texas....I’d love to have you style/cut my hair!!
Thank you so much! I appreciate that. I’ll be enough, I actually went to hair school in Dallas Texas. I haven’t been back since 1995 so I’m sure quite a bit has changed LOL.

Great tips and beautiful video - THANK YOU!❤️🇨🇦
Thank you!!! I appreciate it!
I subscribed because I LAUGHED OUT LOUD at the “I’m gonna throw up” comment…ditto!!!!!
Look at you with your hair parting dissertation. Love it! I never took into account so many different areas to consider when partying. I enjoy a good part down the middle lately. I always used to side part but being that my hair is naturally curly it can get a little poofy on one side like I'm trying to hide something in my hair 🤣 parting not partying haha
Haha! Thank you. But I’m. It sure anything I say could ever be considered as cool as a dissertation. I’m not that fancy! 😂🙏
@@justinhickox haha you're better then fancy! Is it then or than .... Idk
I have a bit of asymmetry and I have definitely noticed a center part draws emphasis and is quite unflattering 💕
Amazing place. Love your knowledge, thank you for sharing booth
You’re so welcome! I appreciate the support. And yes, that place is absolutely incredible! I love it.
Learned a lot, thank you. I know what to say to my stylist. The biggest problem I think I have is how to express what I want done with my hair. Thieve kinds of video help me talk to my stylist and not feel like an idiot. Lol
Thank you for your expertise!
Thanks for the very helpful information and amazing scenery.
I started parting my hair just slightly to the left of center because my hair is a lot thicker on the left. Since I have bangs and layers, offsetting the part makes my hair appear more symmetrical. Weird, I know.
💕💕💕💕 great channel! Thanks for your work!
Why haven’t I ever been told this? 🤷🏼♀️ Very helpful thank you!
Loved the clip and the hair tips , I have been to Oregon a few times, very scenic place and green :)
With a demon for a governor
Brilliant scenery, lucky you!
I know right, the scenery definitely does not suck.
I followed your tips and I now have the best hair of my life!!!
Oh my gosh I love this channel!
I love your excitement about the great outdoors!
Can you recommend a stylist in Santa Barbara CA?
Thank you, Beth
Wow, gr8 location. Thx 4 sharing💯!
I love your channel ❤. Thank you for your wisdom. Do you have any advice for what to use for dieing hair on a sensitive scalp???
Thank you! I really appreciate that. It’s a great question, at the salon I’ve been using L’Oreal professional for about 20 years and we don’t see very many reactions to it. But with that said there are a lot of reasons that you may be reacting to a product so it’s tough to say without knowing your specific situation. I definitely would like to look into this in a more general sense As well though. It sounds like a great topic for a future video. Thank you for the suggestion and I’ll definitely consider creating a video about that.
Wow what a great view and also great hair information 😊😊
My face is very asymmetrical and this confirms why I've always had a side part....that and the volume. Thanks for the confirmation.
Bend Oregon Smith Rock. Ah...... used to climb there. Loved it there.
Great information. Thank you so much for this. Very helpful. Beautiful scenery by the way 😍
You’re so welcome! I’m glad I could help and I’m glad you liked the views. That place is AMAZING!
I agree. I am new and loved the information and scenery. Where were you? If I may ask? I am from Oregon and it makes me want to do a road trip. 😊
@@ohthatjennifers.3259 thank you! That was near Yacoult Wa around Multon Falls.
@@justinhickox thank you.
There are too much good information, if that can ever be a thing! My hair doesn’t look good and I don’t even know where to start! 😩 btw, Justin, you are fabulous!
The picture at the opening of this video.....awesome! Have you done a video about how to blow dry? It sounds basic but I don’t know how. I get half a head of static, half a soggy head, and a sore arm.
Yes there is a video he has done on blow drying
@@khanjarijoshi4685 i’ll look for it. Thanks
Great video! Very creative!
I’m loving your channel. One cool dude!
Thank you for this. I've been parting my hair side, for ...20 years. Just last month, I've been having to try to part on other side, or pull back. the short side of part near temple, is getting so damaged. I spend hours, every sunday getting my hair up and ready for work week. Only day I wash my hair. Sundays. Frizzy, kinky, mixed. Was so thick, at 57 it's all changing. Other video's helpful. thank you for your help!
I am a side parter... and I actually part on the correct side for what I don’t like about face, and I did not even know it!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Nice! I think some people do that subconsciously. They just know what they look best in.
Yes, I've also been doing this subconsciously. There is a sweet spot, I wanna say it's in line with the peak of my eyebrow arch ~ which is my best looking part. Idk if there is a reason for this or just case by case?
Amazing tips
Thank you
You are delightful!
Thanks! Great information!
You’re so welcome! Glad I could help.
Beautiful and very informative video!
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you liked it. I appreciate that.
My cowlick literally only allows me to part my hair in one spot. It is not where I would like to part it but if I don't, my hair winds up doing terrible things and being in my eyes.
Forehead cowlick? If so, me as well.
Thanks for the information 🙋🏼♀️
Wow, beautiful.
Thank You . 🤗🐕✂️
I liked the videos better indoors. The explanations are easier to understand
