@@JamesJesseGTA I see alot of people shit on Captain Quarters over the years, but CCP literally did *NOTHING* with it. They added it to the game and never improved or iterated on it.
They've been developing Project Nova since DUST closed, then it became Legion, now this. No way whatever comes out is going to be good

Vanguard does not look anything like DUST 514, but given how good that was, I'm excited to give another FPS set in the EVE Universe a shot! My heart still yearns for it though. Maybe one day RPCS3 wizards will revive DUST 514 like they did Metal Gear Online (2).

Vanguard looks awesome! Never been a huge FPS player, but I do want to play that one.
Fanfest pre-corona was less fabricated, unforced and just a better vibe/crowd. But it's not the crowd on itself, these presentations are just... robotic. Constant demands for attendees to cheer and then cheer louder(which they didn't need to ask pre-corona), the timing is off as if the presentations weren't practised. Stage presenters' language skills seem to be worsening every year, CCP Collins was the only one not tied to his text screen and had some natural movement on stage.
I dont know if this what eve needs. Im not an eve player, but Dust is a shooter i go back to every year to reminisce on those experiences.
The forced hype is getting cringe. Just speak to your audience like adults; we're getting old, ya know?
Probably trying to appeal to the next generation. Maybe.
considering that gameplay is pre-alpha, its looks quite polished already. the standard must be high. I hope ccp pulls this off.

Hope vanguard gets corp wars of some type. I like the mercs small group play style but I still miss dust after seeing this. Still hopeful for the future of EvE

All I want ingame is to be able to suit up in an amarrian exosuit and drop from orbit into battle like we could in Dust 514
Ye, its integrated in the game. We should be able to get income from the Shooter and Buy ships in EvE

EVE: Vanguard so far looks very similar to "EVE: Showdown", lol. Some definite inspiration from the sandbox style of PvPvE that the Crytek team pioneered with Hunt: Showdown.
FPS may very well make me come back to Eve. Do it well boys.

Also, I just want to say; over 21000 years of technological development but still only 30 round mag lol. I am sure there will be more options but it was sad to see the guy reloading after every burst of shots. He must carry like 25 mags with him :D

I'm incredibly pleased at the reorientation of the gameplay fo Vanguard toward PVPVE.
Something like Hunt Showdown with its extraction gameplay focused on high risk high reward is EXACTLY what Eve needs.
Sure, keep the big warfront team deathmatch grindfest too, but the bult of the game should be just like Hunts: Many get in, only a few get out with the reward.
I'm still going to call them 'dust bunnies' though. Non-negotiable.
Can you PLEASE bring VR back? If you just make VR mode in the game and allow us to move the camera and be immersed in the world and allow our motion controllers to control the menus etc. VR is bigger than ever and the tech is getting better and better. More people are playing VR. Imagine Eve Online becoming a VR game on the Meta Quest store. Lots of creators make a lot of money from selling their game on the store and get a lot of publicity. With the new features coming to Eve the game would be amazing! That could make the investment worth it and then more serious players would of course play VR on pc. Just experiencing Elite Dangerous in VR is amazing! I don't understand why it can't come to Eve Online.
Teleprompters are so yesterday. Maybe implement one-eye smart glasses cruising into the 4th decade. Also, learn from Bungie and maybe implement a rich and beautiful environment in Vanguard (which I'm sure you thought of already) in addition to destructive as with Halo. Overall, it looks great.
every time i see CCP present stuff it seems like they're all going off the same public speaking training with the open arms and active hands xD
Would be nice if they make much bigger battlefield in their FPS and make it 4 sides fighting for something (objectives)
And add vehicles/frigates to the game that each side can have at the same time max lets say 16 vehicles (which people can order in the game with ther ISK and hauling ship will deliver it to the person (guys who own that system will build those vehicles/frigates for them and recieve that isk in EvE). Huge battlefield with players that can influence it with their ISK. Imagine someone in the Worm flying around with 2 drones shooting rockets at people that trying to cap a base lol.
This is a framework that can be built off of as time goes forward. A place to start. As they evolve the new module it can become something larger.

I really hope it has a standard multiplayer like Dust - 16v16 or more, with vehicles and all. Honestly it'll be a massive disappointment if it doesn't. I'm all for it having PvE and this Tarkov mission game mode but the basis should be the classic multiplayer we've all been waiting so long for.

God I love CCP Swift's s*** eating ear to ear grin. reminds me of the Cheshire cat.
Vanguard needs to remove friendly name tags, and make sure there is friendly fire. Having these removed, creates a element of balance for solo, versus squads. Squads are required then to communicate at a high level, or the additional team mates will become more of a hinderance or liability. Also that initial map concerns me, it is very dark and visually noisy, which makes it extremely hard to exert control over the area with a fire team of four players. Means ultimately you could be running with a solid team, but the environment is so complex its beyond a small squad of 4, to be able to tactically move through the environment. Will be common to get randomly wiped by ambushing teams, because you don't have the fire power or eyes to exert control on the complex surrounding terrain. The maps should reward skilled teams that communicate, and can tactically manuver and exert control over their area, and should be far less about luck and RNG. Tarkov maps are fairly complex CQB and MOUT environments, this is an entirely different level. I can tell you already know its a problem, due to the addition of weapon optics with augmented 'red target highlights' when in ADS at closer ranges.
I agree with friendly fire, but not removing name tags. The HUD makes sense thematically, but I hope there will be items that can scramble the HUD and allow for the situation you describe. Squads will be groups of three, not four. I think as long as there's a balance between TTK, movement speed, and damage drop-off, there will be opportunities for teams to retreat/reposition from an ambush. This isn't even to mention how important sensors are in EVE. In Dust 514, active scanners played a huge role in battlefield awareness.

I think the idea of eve online is interesting but I’d never play it however if they do this fps… I can get a team to grind easy and would be happy to join the community consistently. To be able to contribute a different type of skill to such a vast game world and economy

CCP never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity... We want Dust 514 with new mechanics and engine (I would take regular Dust on PC). What all this projects have in commune is that they are not Dust. With Starfield and Star Citizen In the horizon why would any one want a drone camera from 20 years ago and not a seamless first person view experience from spaceship to planet surface?
I think it's really quite sad that despite this being an "EVE Online" keynote, most folks in the comments are more excited for a net-new game rather than the expansion that was announced. For me EVE has always felt like it was 1 good expansion away from being a seriously excellent MMO but I do not think Havoc is it. Re-work agent missions and incorporate some more community in that aspect of playing the game and then watch the subscriber numbers grow. Make it just a little less sandbox a bit more structured RPG in terms of NPC factions and playstyle and I think a lot more folks would be interested in playing.

You need to tie something besides scarcity to the value of a token. Instead, try spatial proximity. Virtual territory that cannot be easily conquered unless you can prove close physical distance to real world locations. See distance-bounding protocols. Ingress and Pokemon GO almost have it but they're tied down by notions of capitalistic chokepoints and market dominance. Ride the historically tried idea of “homeland”: where you live and work. If you must, make a mapping function that allows a fractal assignment of physical spaces to virtual spaces so every real life city has its own Guriatas / SoE / Caldari / Minmatar / etc. area.

I’ve been looking for a reason to get back into it but I just don’t really feel the excitement. New engine and Vanguard is a huge step in the right direction but I just can’t feel it through the keynote.
