Dave ! This was a fabulous video of all of the great local restaurants, the keys have to offer ! All of the food at these restaurants you went to looked delicious ! I live down here in Florida and there’s definitely some pretty amazing local restaurants here ! When were you traveling through the keys? Next time you’re here in Florida, it would be cool to meet up with you on one of your awesome adventures & do a video with you for my UA-cam channel ! That would be epic ! 😎🦎🐍🤙🏻
@@davkaufmaneatstheworld Thanks for the reply back ! It would be awesome to do a video with you & there’s definitely lots of epic places to go down here in Florida ! Kayaking is always an adventure here….herping is a blast as well. Why not put the 2 together & go herping by kayak ! Don’t think I’ve seen anyone do a video like that yet ! Find an epic spot & paddle to a few close by tiny islands & search for critters & get it all on video ! I’ve got a kayak & a friend has a couple hobbie peddle kayaks. The Dunedin causeway is a great place to kayak day or night & lots of small islands to paddle to. That’s been 1 of my ideas, I think it would be a blast lol ! There’s obviously lots of other epic locations & things to do down here ! I’ll think of some more & leave a small list here in the comments ! 😎🤙🏻
Your vids just keep getting better and better. If I ever make it down there, I'm so hitting up that BBQ spot. Looks so good and right on the ocean, I could use that right now. This is quickly become my favorite of all your channels
Awesome shots.. b roll, or whatever you call it of the roads and ocean views! I've never really been there... just to Orlando area once when I was quite young for Disney. I wasn't sure what to expect when you had those "tart" faces with the key lime pie, but I wasn't expecting the idea of getting 10 more for the next day. haha
Awesome video! I live in Florida and I go down to the Keys once a year for vacation, and the No Name Pub and Robbies are two of my favorite spots! Another good one is the Island Fish Company Restaurant on US1 on Marathon. They have a deep-fryed keylime pie that is to die for!
The unbridled glee from feeding those fish was like a kid in a candy store. Those run things to do are a nice mix to have between meals. That look on your face means I really want that slice of key lime pie 😋
One of my favorite authors and fisherman frequented this area back in the early 1900s . Zane Grey , can’t beat fresh fish and vegetables cooked over an open fire. Also a staunch believer in catch and release , only keep what you need to eat.
man looking at those warm beaches and great food while under my electric blanket because it's freezing here.. I can't help but feel bad for the pelicans.. they are probably thinking "why do those fish get food but we don't?' lol
As a Florida Keys local I always wondered about Doc’s and now I know I gotta hit them up! If you come down again try Harriet’s for breakfast. The wet breakfast burrito is amazing but honestly it’s all good. Thanks for the content and cheers for the recommendations! 🍻
How did you not get your hand bit feeding those sharks lol.? Looks like lots of fun. Looks like a great place to watch lightning over the ocean and that is on my bucket list.
Sharks are like snakes. If you don't fear them and understand them, The chances of getting bit are greatly reduced. And yes I've seen lightning over the ocean there and it is incredible!
Some of my favorite foods. Can't get Cuban sandos here so I have to make them. Good excuse for making a pork roast. "Hot Potato" - groan. Ha, ha. Nice stretch of highway. Never been.
I've been as far south as West Palm Beach, FL. It was a nice are back when I visited. After living in Washington for so long, I prefer the PNW beaches to those found in Florida. I tried Key Lime Pie once. It was okay; but, it was not something that I wanted to have again. All the other food you sampled looked tasty. Have you ever had mullet? When I lived in Florida, I lived in Okaloosa County. Every year, while I lived there there was a festival called the Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival. We just called it the mullet festival. The festival was not named for the haircut. It was named for the local fish. There were vendors who were selling mullet prepared in so many different ways. There were also demonstrations on how to catch, clean, and cook mullet. There was also live music and while I don't remember any of the musical performers, some of the performers who have appeared during the festival's run include: Blake Shelton, Gary Allan, Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Kenny Rogers, Martina McBride, and many more. The festival was supposed to start back up this year. According to the articles I've read, it looks like it's not going to restart until 2025. If it does, I think it would be a good festival for you to visit and maybe sample some mullet.
Great views of the water makes me jealous and makes me long to live on the Gulf Coast again. Points of contention shrimp is not savory. It is sweet. It is delicate and easily overcooked. What makes a good Cuban sandwich is the crisp of the break, how they roasted down the pork that would be with a lot of garlic, the ham needs to be thinly sliced and the pickle better kick your ass. I was kinda heartbroken when you said those were potatoes instead of tostones.Keylime pie, gift from the gods, if it ain’t tart, it ain’t right and from the pucker on your face sounds like it was right. Great video now I’m hungry.
@davkaufmaneatstheworld funny side note the Cuban sandwich doesn't exist in Cuba because the government restrictions on meat for the citizens the Cuban sandwich was invented in Tampa by a Cuban over 100 years ago
Love your videos keep em coming!
Thank you! I will!
Dude! Feeding those tarpon looks so cool!! And that nurse shark!! That was awesome!
You'd love it! We have to plan a trip down one day
The owner of the key lime shop literally treated me and my cousin like family she’s so nice

I always stop there to feed those giants. It's one of my favorite things to do in the keys!
That ocean looks so beautiful, I have never been in Florida and I really hope one day I'll be able to visit.

I have a few lime trees in my backyard , occasionally if I don’t piss off my daughter she will make me a key lime pie .

I feel bad for them too however it is illegal to feed wildlife, but um, not a legal to feed the tarpons for some reason lol
@@davkaufmaneatstheworld I wonder why lol

Gotta put Geiger Key marina and fish camp on your list. Not the easiest to find but a gem. Hogfish bites and grouper cheeks!!
Going to have to try that next time!

I have not but that sounds great!
You should try Pop’s Smoke Shed! Best BBQ ever! They have several food trucks in Marathon, Big Pine Key, and Key West.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Dav , I dare to say you charter a vessel out of s.d.
Fresh caught bluefin with wasabi ,soy and ginger with a side of rice .
That would be awesome!
I just don't care for the ocean. I love seafood, though! And what a breakfast!
Really why?
@davkaufmaneatstheworld, I guess it's really the beach, lol! All that sand!!
The Australian Outback is my dream adventure!
I totally agree!
Gimicky resteront down the rode
That Cuban sandwich should have been paired with fried plantains instead of the potatoes.
I agree!
First! Pin?
Awesome!
The 2 dishes this guy left out of South Florida cuisine is smoked fish dip and conch fritters
Go to hogfish grill on stock island
I've been there. One of my favs
The small Cuban restaurants have good cheap breakfast and sandwiches
Yes! Love those places
@davkaufmaneatstheworld funny side note the Cuban sandwich doesn't exist in Cuba because the government restrictions on meat for the citizens the Cuban sandwich was invented in Tampa by a Cuban over 100 years ago
My son was bit by a pelican at robies 😂😂
