However she never shows any sign of infection, or does she have the same mutation line as others who are infected. This would indeed prove she is truly the only real immune person. 15+ years working in public schools has taught me that the "Punch the bully and he won't fight back" theory is utterly false most of the time. What generally happens is the bully goes from antagonistic bullying(tripping, name calling, etc) to enraged. The bully is usually more experienced and often kicks the shit out of the person worse than normal. I'm not saying don't fight back, just saying it's not a magic pill.
Join some clubs, teams, etc. This leads to more friends being around you or elevated confidence. Both of which I have actually seen reduce bullying.

I think it's really fun that they went with a hormonal factor, not just a rabies or ebola relation. It makes it amusing to think about how I would react, since I know my body has a weird relationship to trauma. Specifically cortisol being low, adrenaline being high, and slight masochism triggered as a protective mechanism thanks to PTSD.
And my nervous system is always hyper active- most likely due to an autoimmune disease (the suspected one, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, is in the late stages of research- but results are strongly confirming it).
I think it would have been hilarious if they threw in a serious masochist who was in nothing but bliss as they were ripped apart.

I can answer that for you, friend
Not much to actually think about; I can tell you flat out a couple of ways you'd react. Your description of yourself is pretty close to my personal baseline, but, I also had a rare tumor on an adrenal gland that produced all the hormones and amines that caused all the ruckus in the show. Basically the real world equivalent of the virus in the show is a tumor called a Pheochromacytoma that produces 'Catecholamine'.
Didn't turn me into a people biting monster just turned me into someone that would have to fight panic attacks out of nowhere and have to hold in random angry outbursts to the point that it ate me up inside and turned to depression/anxiety.
Honestly, it is like taking PTSD and adding PTSD, as ridiculous as that sounds.
Something could set it off, like normal PTSD triggering, but then it would just build and build on top and the energy inside would just get so... Overwhelming...

I have bipolar type 2 and complex PTSD, and my POTS and ADHD not only mimic PTSD symptoms but can trick my brain into thinking I'm being triggered, especially if I'm already triggered. My brain will run around trying to find the cause of the pulse increase, which causes anxiety, which causes depression and mood swings when it cannot figure it out, because there is nothing to figure out. It just escalates and escalates until I can find something to get it to go down. Before I got treatment, I was permanently in that state. Treating my ADHD was actually one of the most helpful things, got my brain to shut up.

@@theoneglorylucky3071 Kill the bully first then. Or gets friends. THe fact is that bullies target loners and people they over power or outnumber. Once that person has a solid friend group they aren't so easy to take on any more and more importantly, those friends can counter the negative psychological effects of getting picked on. Someone makes fun of you? that can fuck up your mood, but if your friend verbally counters the bully it helps out a lot.
I didn't have alot of friends when i was in school but i was also in the crazy class, once i got out of there and picked up some real friends life got a lot better. Although i\m also a big guy and outweighed most of the people who wanted to have a go at me and had no issues fighting back. One fellow got shanked by a pair of safety scissors back in the day, lol.
Still It's not just One thing that'll solve your bully issues. When i was alone, merely fighting back just made they less inclined to go after me, but they still would from time to time. As i got older, picked up a solid friend group, and joined the wrestling team, it disappeared mostly. Probably helped that i had a tendency to pick up and throw people around in that wrestling class, lol.
Even so, some people just wont fuck off. I had a dude in my high school mechanics class who just wouldn't leave me alone. I ended up chasing him with a metal pole one day trying to hit him and He just acted like it was a game. THe teachers were basically useless too, i straight up told The guy in charge of my class that if He didn't do something about the bully, I would and it would be violent and i was basically ignored. thankfully It didn't come to that, but seriously i hated that class so much.
Friends, hobbies and interests, and occasionally making sure people in your class know you can and will be able to kick their asses will make bullying go away or reduce it to a mere annoyance. Do Not Rely on Teachers to stop it. Most of them can't really do anything, You will need to take matters into your own hands through whatever means you choose.
But if anything, I think the most important thing is your own Will power. you can't let it drag you down. For me, school was an annoyance most of the time but t had it's good spots too. Once it was done though and i was free to pursue my own hobbies Life was so much better, and those friends really helped out a lot. it was a small group but, we played DnD, we did Monster Hunter on the psp We played left for dead and so on It was great. I'm not friends with them any more, but i still have fond memories because of them. Were as school and bullying was just... an unpleasant stage of life that i had to endure.
Social Media is... probably far worse then any bullying i had going on. People get *real* nasty behind a computer screen.

The hormone hypothesis is definitely the most backed up by the story and themes. I do think it's a major factor into what kind of zombie one becomes there is another detail that might also be a major factor for hambie or zombie. That being brain chemistry, or possible altered state of mind.
The male archer was trying to fight the bully to the end so his cortisol would have been lower like the other hambies, yet he didn't turn hambie. The 3 hambies that did had a different way of thinking.
The Gwi-nam can be easily called a sociopath and sadist. While Nam-ra and Eun-ji are victims of abuse. Iirc, trauma and abuse will affect the brain to the point of changing how the brain works. Even Byeong-Chan falls under this by way of misanthropy, like Eun-ji, from his son's tragedy.
So I think that traits such as sadism, misanthropy, and even an anti-social attitude (Nam-ra's preference to stay away from others, such as letting Gyeong-get infected) could predispose someone into turning hambie.

Prey animals are often just as, if not more dangerous once the fight is initiated because you pretty much just have to persuade a predator that you're not worth it and they may leave you alone, but a prey animal isn't fighting for you to be food, it's fighting so *it* won't be food and so it's fighting with *a lot* more at stake. You touch on it a little but I think it's fun to mention.

I can't seem to find the proper search terms, but I remember that people were given an adrenaline dose and asked to take note of numbers on a rapidly moving counter. There was no actual difference between the groups, so the feeling that time is moving slower isn't because you're actually perceiving time at a higher rate, but are instead having a stronger emotional association with that time period, and so ignoring less of it. From personal experience, I have been t-boned in an auto accident, and definitely felt the same feeling that every second seemed to stretch further.

also this isnt true you get bacteria and viruses in your system via mouth/nose/eyes all the time. your immune system (not your digestive system) goes "hey i know this bug" or "this bug is similar to that last one!" meaning you only really notice a bacteria/virus when it reaches full infection causing fevers and respiratory stuff or other system failures.

This is something that really confused me in the show since it's a choice to have a character get infected blood in their mouth or eyes and all of them seem to have scratches or abrasions all over them from the infected scratching them or just getting otherwise injured fighting running and get infected blood on them all the time. And they even had the whole thing with Cheong San's friend being deliberately infected with a rag. Why not just avoid such scenes then? Having the characters have to take efforts to cover and protect any open wounds and be mindful of it would also give them something else to do and add more plot potential but they don't ever seem concerned despite what they saw earlier and most of them being smart enough to understand what a blood-bourne infection is. It would add a lot more tension to the classic 'being pinned down by a zombie' scenes of which the show is very fond.
Gwi-nam even gets a full mouthful of infected blood in an extended shot in his during the cafeteria scene and I just assumed that was a Chekov's gun since the show is full of them but no, the extended scene of that happening is not how he got infected or the reason he is a 'hambie'.

I think it has more to do with the will to live being stronger than the virus's will to take over your body. The scientist Lee kept saying the virus has it's own will to live in a manner of speaking which is why it evolves so rapidly. Nam-ra backs this up because she was turning and letting the virus win but when Su-Hyeok said her name for the first time it instilled in her the will to resist and keep living because to her, it meant he liked her. The bully too, he despised Cheong-san and wanted to kill him so badly he refused to die and let the virus kill him and even seemed to bond with the virus pretty well. Eui-ji is an outlier to me because she originally wanted to die but I think her growing hatred towards people and the world keeps her going.

Since the nurse has at least some understanding of the human body, she would know that the human mouth carries a LOT of bacteria. So much that any bite breaking skin needs hospitalization asap. Plus, with the kid that bit here was freaking out, she could have been afraid that she could have got infected with whatever the kid had, that and not being able to get immediate treatment for the worst possible scenario.

@@undeadprincess5726 The whole bacteria in the mouth thing is incredibly exaggerated and overblown. No, you don't need "immediate hospitalization" from a bite, that's ridiculous.
You should get the wound cleaned and checked out by a medical professional; which she is... She's a nurse, she has all the supplies she needs to clean the wound herself.
There was zero evidence of any sort of contagion at the time, so no she was not scared of being "infected". As far as she knew, the kid was a kidnapping victim who was delirious and likely drugged by her captor.

@@theguileraven7014 according to Google and the websites I looked up on this, "If there is any suspicion that part of a tooth is in the bite wound (foreign body), people should seek medical care as this will increase the risk of the infection. Using the hospital's emergency department for a human bite is often the proper treatment to seek." I've also been bitten by many humans before and have gone to the hospital most every time. Also states that "if the bleeding does not stop, seek emergency care." And that nurse was still bleeding very heavily from that bite even after the student was wheeled out possibly minutes later. We're basically mammal versions of komodo dragons.

    • @theguileraven7014
      @theguileraven7014 2 роки тому +4

@@undeadprincess5726 Having a piece of a tooth contaminate the wound is very different from just scratching your arm or hand open on someone’s teeth. The vast majority of bites heal entirely without any complications or need for special treatment. If it were some sort of innately life threatening injury, there’d be tons of deaths from people slicing their knuckles open during fights, or being overly kinky in bed.
Seeking medical treatment at a hospital is a precaution, nothing more... no rational human being is going to freak out and think they’re going to die over a bite wound that happened about 10 minutes ago. Even if she was worried about getting a possible infection, she’s not in any immediate danger and has plenty of time to get hospital treatment (not that she doesn’t already have the tools to clean it herself). Wounds sometimes take a bit to stop bleeding, it’s not that scary.
NGL, I don’t know why you’re trying so hard to paint the situation into something it’s not.
Also, the Komodo dragon thing is a complete myth. Komodo Dragons kill with a an anticoagulant, not bacteria. Bacterial infections happen, because animals end up with gaping wounds while running through dirty water.

The usage of Dying Light 2 osts as bgm through out the video probably the reason why your video was recommended to me.
I only heard things about All of Us Are Dead from my friends, never watch nor search for it in UA-cam but seeing your video pop up in my recommendation made my curious and now I know why.
I'd play ton of Dying Light 2 these past few weeks and I have to say the half-bies are like the survivors of THV and I would predict some of them probably gonna be like the protagonist of Dying Light 2, Aiden (infected with superhuman capability) later on.

more often when bullied people fight back they then get jumped by larger groups and gang beaten. Also victims of this kind of abuse are often unheard or have the authority turned against them and that they need to just deal with it. That's how a kid who was picked on and bloodied daily one day pulled a knife on a group in final desperation while being pushed and hit into the bathroom in the local mcdonalds, never attacked anyone but was still arrested for attempted assault with deadly weapon and the bullies got off free. just 1 of a mountain of examples.
