    Very nice.
    All the Akrapovic Ti systems benefit in looks by giving them a good going over with fine scotch pads, or very fine wire wool, to remove all the manufacturering marks etc before fitting.
    You get a consistent finish and better colouring after a good run.

    Did you look at the lean angle(left/right) that was recorded on your ECU for your track day? That may give you added information about the body scrapes.

    I live in the Netherlands on our track Assen the sound restrictions are very tight of 100 DB with dynamic testing. Can you do a sound check with the new headers? Do you know how many DB the bike makes? And another question: Did you remove the valves?

    How did it run without a map ? I would like a pipe for my s1000rr 2023 but dont want to invalidate the warranty. The ECUs count flashes too so BMW will know even if a flash is taken off.

      Sounds like you need to change your dealer. Your dealer is limiting their bike sales if they’re telling you this. It’s not in their interest to enforce this when all we’re doing is removing cat and making the bike more pure. Runs extremely well.

    The brake light dongles on their own are illegal as you must show 2x stop lamps to the rear, and with these you would have no brake lights if you had the hazzard lights on, and then even with your extra brake light, there in this case be only one light on, these will not pass the uk mot

    • @ABIKETHING
      @ABIKETHING  8 місяців тому +1

      With the extra run and brake light this will pass an MOT. What bike has more than 1 run and break light when hazards are on apart from this current type of bike? Are you saying the set up I have here is not safer and clearer? I have 3 running lights of which 2 extinguish when hazards are on leaving one centre light on as a run and brake light. Indicators are sole indicators and not confused by drivers behind us.

    • @ondabmw3934
      @ondabmw3934 8 місяців тому

      On any other bike all these are separate lights, because this setup cuts out the stop lights when the turn signals are on, there is the possibility of no stop light showing at the rear when the hazards are illuminated and that is an mot fail, if you are doing this mod then you will need the extra light,.
      Like a lot of mods, they are great in principal, but not exactly legal, just like the exhaust system you have just installed, I own one of these bikes and I can see what you are saying about the rear lights, I am only pointing out there is an issue with the possibility of no brake lights showing when the brakes are applied..

    That's gonna need a tune now cat is gone , ot will only fuel correctly at top speed and every where wise it will be lean , read up on open and closed loop systems

    • @user-oi7vx1in5x
      @user-oi7vx1in5x 8 місяців тому

      It runs wide band o2 sensors and will self correct for the change. In other words, it will not run any leaner than stock. If you want to get the most from the decat headers, then a custom map is recommended, but it will not damage the motor to leave it as is.

    • @ABIKETHING
      @ABIKETHING  8 місяців тому +1

      Someone has replied with the correct info already but from my own experience riding it, she’s smooth as ever. I’ve ridden bikes with full decat that needed remapping and know what it feels like without it.

    • @Rust_valley_racing
      @Rust_valley_racing 8 місяців тому

      @@ABIKETHING 😄😄😄 like I said read up on open and closed loop lamda systems, the bike is tuned with cat in place , the lambda can only adjust with the map fixed parameters in the ecu that was tuned by bmw , removing the cat will make it lean ,, that's a fact on modern closed and open loop lamda systems plus you just voided your engine warranty with bmw 👍 a engine is basically a air pump , with the cat restriction removed the bike will draw in more air, with more air the bike will need more fuel , the ecu can only adjust what it's been programmed to do with the cat in place, the ecu isn't AI lol... just go read up on it ,there's plenty of articles online explaining this . But as you think some arm chair tuner knows best on UA-cam you wouldn't want advice from someone who knows a thing or two about engines and building bikes 😄😄

    • @Rust_valley_racing
      @Rust_valley_racing 8 місяців тому

      @@user-oi7vx1in5x it will only fuel correctly at the highest rpm range , try reading up on open and closed loop systems using o2 lambda , lol

    • @user-oi7vx1in5x
      @user-oi7vx1in5x 8 місяців тому

      @@Rust_valley_racingI'm well aware of open and closed loop systems, but you are grossly underestimating the power of the stock BMW ecu and its ability to compensate for hardware changes, e.g., cat removal, high flow air filter, etc. They are incredibly precise and will target and achieve the factory AFR without breaking a sweat. The AFR might be leaner in parts of the rev range initially but it will quickly self-correct over time (across the entire rev range) without causing damage. The proof is in the pudding, rideability and throttle feel are good metrics.
