I have a Brogden tree thats about 4 yrs old, I got fruit 2 yrs ago and loved it but this year all the flowers fell and I didnt get any at all. What other tree is a good tree to pair it with?
Oro nagro was the best tasting one to me. Tasted most like a hass out of all you mentioned but all were very good flavor. I have to see how they all fruit. and Oro Nagro is a different season than Dupuis so keep that in mind
Choquette is not an early season avocado. It ripens October-December from the PIN Avocado Variety Viewer. I can confirm this from first-hand experience in North Broward--best in November/December. I'm glad you found Dupuis so good. I've had a hard time deciding between Dupuis and Simmonds. I'm under the impression that Simmonds is a more consistent producer and a smaller tree, but maybe Dupuis has better flavor?
I like Choquette, yes it is October-December. Dupuis and Choquette both tasted similarr to me. I have a Simonds tree but haven't tried it yet. I'll do a video when I do
I have a marcus pumpkin avacado tree which I bought from a nursery about 4 to 5 years ago. I've yet to taste it. It's yet to produce any avacados. I told my wife if it doesn't produce by next year it's on the chopping block. What do you think I should do and most importantly how does marcus pumpkin taste
check with mike at Trees N More on Facebook. He sells avocados and has a big marcus pumpkin right in front of his house. He can give you more advice about it.
Tropical Farms doesn't have a description of Brogden avocados. Do you think it tastes bitter like organic Has avocados from the store? Do you think some people use a vegetable peeler to peel off the skin? All this is very interesting. I wonder if it's an ancient variety because I heard that avocados long ago had big seeds and very little flesh.
No I didn't like it as much as I love hass from the store. but like I said some people love Brogden and you can see the description on other sites. Many avocados with different size seeds out there.
@@FruitfulTrees ah, i presumed all had similiar seed-flesh ratios🤦🏾♀️ silly me. And i was wondering about the taste of the skin. Only descriptions i see are of the flesh. So i find that the Tops Topa and Mexicola have thin skins that taste like anise! And i see that some people blend or powder thick avocado skins. I have just chewed them up, including the seed, but I wasn't brave enough to keep on doing it. Haha I'm more interested in the thin-skinned varieties now. Because I see that it contains persin which is anti-fungicidal. Toxic for animals but not humans. How interesting! Thanks!
Dont you love it when we are sold a “mislabeled” avocado tree only to find out 4-5 years after planting. I was sold an “Oro Negro Avocado”, it started fruiting in July this year and the fruit is GREEN! babied the tree for 5 years… The place where I bought it is a large a “reputable nursery” down here in Miami; closer to Homestead, FL.
@@FruitfulTrees i tried my best to pick/plant varieties to lengthen the avocado fruiting period….but PLANS are only as good as the nursery/person selling us the specific “variety” requested. I have Lula fruiting June/July/August, the “Green Oro Negro” fruiting July/August and what I was sold as a “Donnie” and a “Brogdon” that are yet to fruit.
I like my avacado creamy and dry. I don't like the little Mexican ones at the store. I bought mine and it's a Munroe and I haven't tasted it before, hope it wasn't mislabeled and I do like it once I get to taste it next yr. I bought a Catalina yrs ago but it died.I am not buying another one, no more room in the inn.
You don't know how much our family loves you! God bless you!🥰
I've been eating brogden avocados off my tree for past two months. I like them alot I let them get nice and soft and the skin peals right off.
Many people like them but the few I had the skin didn't peel well and it was too much seed for me to want to grow a tree.

Great video
awesome video😎 stay safe and hope you’re doing great!
So the Brogdan actually tastes better than the Dupouis?
The Dupouis is just larger and peels easier it seems.
What are the ones you highly recommend???
Brogdon is cold hardy for orlando
I enjoy Bragdon avocado 👍
Shalom 🙏🏻💖
Yes wonderful 😊
Of the choices Maria black, Choquette, Dupuis, and Oro Nagron what order would you list them as best tasting to you being #1, and why?
Oro nagro was the best tasting one to me. Tasted most like a hass out of all you mentioned but all were very good flavor. I have to see how they all fruit. and Oro Nagro is a different season than Dupuis so keep that in mind
So many variety or species of avacado 🥑❤❤❤
I live in Florida. Would it be posdible to get a couple seeds from the Brogdon avocado…?
What ones grow best in pots in central FL?
Have you tasted the Golden avocado their experimenting with in north Florida? It's very creamy
How would you compare each of the two avos with a good tasting hass from the store?
I prefer a good-tasting hass over both of these.
What do you think is a good size pot for avacados. Do you think a 35 gallon would work for an oro negro? Or is 65 the way to go?

That Dupuis avocado is enormous lol, I had no idea they could get that big

What did you end up doing, Irvin?
Marcus is an amazing avocado. Delicious. I definitely Italy would give it a chance to fruit before you remove it.
Can Brogdon grow in Socal ?
Is the skin thicker on the Oro Negron. I’ve been told that the Doni avocado is on the watery side.
Yes the skin is thicker on the Oro Negron and Oro is the best-tasting Avocado I've had in Florida. Doni was on the watery side when I tried it.

that's so sad man. There are some places I will not buy a tree from

Man I thought you were a middle eastern man(in the middle east) thar beard is impressive. Hahaha.
A friend might want the Brogden, I’ll ask him. How much did you want for it?
7 gallon $70 let me know. That would be great. Email me paul@Rawlife.com
U still got that brogdon
nope

I like Munroe. You can order some from Guac Farm when they are in season to try them. I have a catalina tree but haven't tried it yet
If you do not like the peel on an avocado why peel it? Just cut it in half and grab a spoon.
