- A hilarious Vic 2 story. The Nogai Horde: An obscure little unciv nation, in Divergences of Darkness, which is in Muscovy's expansion path. But with an actual player on it? What's going to happen here?
This video also features a crazy experimental mod feature, something no one has ever attempted or thought of doing before. Let's see what happens with those officers... We'll learn more about that in the next part.
The Nogai Horde is an uncivilised nation in Divergences of Darkness situated to the East of Muscovy. It borders other unciv steppe nations. It starts with exactly 1 million POPs, 25% civilisation progress and has the path to form Tatarstan which unites all the steppe peoples in the area, including Crimean, Astrakhani and so on. A fun nation for an interesting single-player campaign, I'm sure, but in multiplayer? This is Muscovite, and later Russian, land. Surely they can't survive and it's just a meme in a serious MP campaign?
This will be a two-part story. The game session for this happened quite a while ago, as of when I'm uploading it. The campaign was so bad I just forgot about it and left the footage in a folder, but after looking back on it in a voice chat I remembered it, and realised this story was actually hilarious, and I'm glad I did. (this was actually played on 9th November 2019) I can't let the fact that it's old prevent this hilarious session finally seeing the light of day.

With some luck, I was actually able to source some Nogai language for this video - en.wikipedia.o... - so thanks to my mysterious Nogai contact and the intermediary who communicated for us. Just so you know what it all meant: “Ногай Ордасы “ (“Nogai Horde”), “Тилегеним эл болып ойнарман, пайше “ (“I'll play as whatever country I want, bitch)”, “Москвага баьри штатларын алув уьшуьн согыс баслатаман” (“I declare war on Muscovy for all states”)

I don't see anything wrong with playing a meme country if you can manage it, part of the fun is upsetting the status quo. In my opinion seeing the same nations as gp's game after game gets boring fast.

No plan there. This video (but mainly part 2 of this) will prove it - This campaign was my Dual Monarchy campaign. And you'll see how the campaign turned out
My support is fully on the Horde's side, sometimes it's good to see some odd map changes in the games... And anyway Muscovy was preparing to attack the Nogai in any case so i don't see the problem of a player in a meme country being supported by other counties, especially the PLC 🤣🤣
i just think that bohemia and hungary joining all against muscovy was too much. i think only poland and the horde would have made for less salt on both sides

Play it safe in the events so your heir doesn't die. Balance between English and French for the other events. Wait enough time and an event proclaiming stability should fire without ever having a civil war.
Conquer Scotland and some Burgundian regions too

I can't remember the specifics but basically you want to piss both sides off equally but not too much basically the events will increase revolt points by one and once a culture reaches a certain threshold it'll rebel unless all of them are past that threshhold then all of them rebel so you piss all of them off but conquering land from burgundy(2 states) makes the french less pissed off conquering provonce makes the provencels less pissed and conquering scotland makes them less pissed if you can balance this for long enough you'll eventually get an event that makes you stable and no longer gives you a chance of rebellion I did it on my first try but it was my only try so idk
I want to see Burgundy and Scandi fail because it'd be waaay more interesting seeing where the Nogai Horde goes from there, rather than having the same what, 6 nations or so being the big powers.

You can never tell whether or not Frank is being suicidal with his decisions, or if he honestly has something up his sleeve. Case in point...Nogai
I hope the Nogai Horde becomes a GP, would be nice to see countries other than the usual contenders. And I do think officers need to be made more important, but this is a silly and uncreative way to do it.

For the record, for me (as Bohemia) there was a sense to join this cuz I wanted to have good relations with Poland so I could concentrate to the west and north + Spudgun didn't ally me, and didn't assure me that he would help me against Burgundy and Scandi, So I got Hungary and Poland on my side.
And as Polish ally I didn't see any probs helpin his ass out real quick in this one+ I saw that Scandi allied Muscovy, and interpreted that pretty much as a Muscovy Scandi alliance, which would have been real bad for me.

when I first watched this I was pretty much totally on frank's side, but after playing some multiplayer I really get Reno's point
Muscovy was basically put into the same situation here as Spud was in the Hungary cinematic universe

To be honest if you didn't want to it to be different game you shouldn't have allowed a nogai player in the game.If a country is played by a human and not AI ofcourse they are going to make alliances to save themselves from the impending doom.They flame the nogai but I don't think it is fair, just tell him to take something else in the beginning if you want to play the games with same blocks everytime.Yeah needless to say I am on the side of nogai, just tell him to not take nogai in the beginning if you don't want him to make diplomacy to save himself from certain death ,like if he didn't have those alliances what was going to happen?Was muscovy going to let them live?I don't think so.

also on top of that DONT START AS NOGAI START AS CRIMEA since Crimea is a better start in almost every way starts partial civ rather than unciv just as a example.
Yeah Crimea is technically better to form it, but they usually also get killed by Poland. With Nogai they actually got Poland's support

Also why is there not a mod where the PLC has pushed to the Urals and is a great power at the start of the game with Russian,ruthenian,belorusian,and of the Baltic cultures and polish.

all those people complaining in the first part of the video are why I don't play strategy games multiplayer
they try to conflate Frank playing Nogai as being a meta choice, and in doing so reveal that their only argument against him is in itself meta; Scandi literally only complains because they admit that they wanted to kill Muscovy. Bunch of fucking pedants who are mad because Frank doesn't pull bullshit. You and Frank are real O G.
Honestly as a viewer the concept of a non-Slavic GP taking place instead of Muscovy/Russia would be a lot more interesting on an alt. history level/visual level, but since I don't actually play the game idk how viable/fair it is (if not, i hope it's modded so that it becomes so because Horde's don't seem to get a lot of love in DoD)

I notice that your war screens seem to have the disconnected isles of a nation not filled red or green, I don't know what software you use for the screens but shift-clicking with a magic wand tool/paint bucket should select/fill all pixels of that colour.
It's just MS Paint, you know, as long as you get the country's mainland and most of the BIG islands... Nothing to worry about... No pedant will ever call me out on it....... right...
