@@scoman91 There isn’t much of a way to not make France super powerful without just destroying any semblance of accuracy. Maybe that’s actually part of the reason that EU5 is set in the early 1300s as France was hit harder than any other region by the black plague.

In all the video for moments I thought that burgundy was Spain until my brain restarted some seconds later realizing that Spains flag is another in this game.
I had a friend who was the papal states fight a death war war to release austria from pu for our friend who was playing spain. The death toll was over a million and last years.
Probably would have helped a lot to have a castle on the England crossing to get stackwipes when they try to siege it down since france didn't have naval dominance
Just started a test war vs AI France w/ my blobbing PU master Aragon, I got deleted instantly. I gohtta get gamey w/ techs and fort traps ... France is a beast.
average french ai moment honestly in my last game i played aragon-italy w/ a formables mod and in spite of having IBERIA _AND_ ITALY CORED i had less troops than ai france who played tall. best ally ever imo.
The weirdest thing I have ever done is playing Byzantium with an Force limit of 220k and having a 12 Peovince revolutionary Switzerland Mark vassal with 356K, 260K reserves and I also made it an colonial power so my vassal also had around 200k troops more in Colonies. Also, that Switzerland only needed two 48k Stacks to beat frances 192k. So lovely to feed your vassal with colonies so that Force limit modifier gets multiplied by its Mark Vassal modifiers.
@@journey_ii6485 My preferred way of winning wars is building 500 to 1200 Trade ships, always have 100 Navy tradition as i am protecting trade way over the force limit, and have at least 80% market share in every trading centre. I win wars by not allowing my enemy to have money. Don't mind the fleet costing 700 ducats a month when they make 1000 per month by protecting Trade. My biggest enemy is dip tech making my ships outdated and giving me a 34k ducats bill to upgrade them.

I just hate micromanaging my armies so I just build massive fleet and then use that money to spoonfeed my vassals as my manpower is better used on my vassals than on myself. I don't remember my last time when my own army was worth something after 1550. Their only function is to exist and make longing for independence lower. They will keep drilling behind a wall of forts so I can slack standards for longer and give more manpower to my vassals.
Wasn't a serious campaign. I (France) was gong to release both Burgundy and Milan as I had only subjugated them for funsies but ended up not being there that week. I also hadn't taken a 2nd military group as I would have done were it a serious game, and that would have absolutely ruined any chance of this war being winnable for the other players. No one really expected to have this whole thing turn into a deathwar.
Man I miss EU MP streams and videos, it's always so dynamic in gameflow. Do you guys really play without protection rules for away players though? That would be brutal

However prior to the first sesh (like couple weeks before this video's recording) we agreed just about all rules, except the rule of cool, could be ignored just to have a wacky game. Also the France player agreed to let Milan and I go but was going on vacation that week so we let him know we would fight the ai for independence.
how did you guys lose like that to AI france early on... did no one do mil max/build? burgundy got as much mil potential as france, but i think you were focusing on colony stuff? i ask this because overall elseways y'all were doing really good lol its just odd your troops were melting
This was a casual campagn, nothing serious, so no serious gameplay. Had it been more serious then either France or Burgundy wouldn't be existing this far into the game. Why were we stomped by France? We weren't ready for the French to fight back as hard as they did.

Tl;dr - this wasn't a serious game warranted serious gameplay. So this mp game wasn't meant to be played seriously or sweaty; hence why I ideas I chose were the ideas I chose and that the France player (who was on vacation during this session) chose only 1 mil idea group. So I personally wasn't worried about being sweaty. Had this been a serious game, like my Perm series, I would have death war France sesh 1 and gone with different idea groups and played far differently.
@@easytiger6570 never said I was surprised by the outcome, mainly due to the lack of quality in my military because of going colonial. As mentioned previously, had this been a serious campaign, then I would not have gone colonial and killed France far earlier into the game than this video.
