Justicar Aatrox resembles Original Aatrox. Justicar Aatrox plays a big role in Aatroxs lore.
Victorious Aatrox fits this year; not like all the years before. Just look at the past with all the ups and downs, picks and bans, different roles Aatrox had and compare it when Maokai received the Victorious skin ... people trying to be relevant with casual bs is the greatest thing I hate

It would have been cool if this skin had a different voicde filter than the default one and remove some of the more agressive ones (and even use some of the old ones) so it's more angelic.

Nope. I like it too. And lets be real - it will be like with Swain and Irelia - evryone is whining and then they will see, that he is fun.
Played swain for years before his rework, his rework ruined him just like this one will ruin aatrox. He's completely viable atm and in a healthy state, they removed his character identity in exchange for a lazy rework. They made him basically the same as two other champs and removed any form of originality he had. Mark my words, his winrate will tank with noobs playing him, everyone will stop playing him and his pick rate will go down to as low as iverns.
Swain has never been better than now, man what are you talking? Aatrox is viable in a meta almost all the champs are viable. Originality in old Aatrox? Maybe the W, cuz Q, E, R and passive were horrible abilities, Q = malph ult but smaller, E was beautiful but totally underwhelming, and R was just a boost, ah, passive was almost clone of anivia passive. See? At least new aatrox can move when he is reviving. About character indentity, this amuses me, I have been playing aatrox since release and the only real "CHARACTER INDENTITY" he had was that the rest of people didnt exactly know what the hell was his kit which is so so so sad... Freaking OTPs, envolve.
Swain's playability may be better but he feels clunky and not fun to use from a personal stand point, seems a lot of people i've talked to has had this same opinion, but this is about aatrox not swain you're right. You can say his abilities look similar to other abilities but his overall play style is much different from a lot of bruisers in how you approach fights.
With his new kit, it's mostly the same as riven and a few other bruisers; you use your q to poke over and over and eventually go in, his kit shares WAY too many similarities to riven's kit (which I know is beating a dead horse since everyone is saying it but it has truth to it). The reason this is a problem is because he plays EXACTLY like riven but with a revive. That's a huge problem. Current Aatrox encourages you to pick smarter fights because you can't just poke unless the enemy allows themselves to get hit by your E or you go ap. He has currently an interesting playstyle where he wants more enemies grouped because it instant charges hellbent/bloodwell. This means you can't just jump in and get out easy peasy like he will be able to now.
Now he'll just be another "well I can q over and over since it's dmg+cc+gap closer so I wont be punished for making dumb decisions basically". Also speaking from a design/gameplay standpoint, they just made him into another cliche angry character, his current character was eerie and wise like he knew way more than everyone else, he had more interesting things to say. With his new character riot basically went "LOL MAKE HIM YELL A LOT AND GIVE HIM AN ACCENT AND THROW SOME MEMES/SWEARS IN THERE THE KIDS'LL LOVE IT". Sorry for the long paragraph but I feel strongly that this rework is objectively terrible, not that my own personal opinions have any leverage on the opinions of others and not that my opinion will ultimately stop the rework from happening.
I feel overall too that the auto attack based aatrox with stance switching and the encouragement to pick SMART fights over all fights is just a better and more entertaining playstyle altogether. In the jungle, this makes him more objective based. He can gank but he can also clear fast enough to do early dragons/heralds similar to shyvana. It seems now he'll be forced into just ganking as he won't have the survivability to be split pushing or soloing neutral objectives.

Yes. I thought they were fallen Targonians too because Varus' lore stated that the Darkin were aliens like the Aspects of Targon. They changed Varus' lore because of the Darkin wars lore update. Apparently, Darkin were Shuriman god (Sunborn/Ascended) warriors that fought the Icathian rebellion that opened rifts into the Void. After Azir's fall because Xerath screwed with his ascension, the Ascended were left leaderless and started fighting with each other and caused a huge war. The mortals started to call them darkin. The war went so out of hand, Targon had to do something about it. So the Aspect of Twilight dealt with them, trapping them within their weapons.
