for patches, use glue dots (Zots) little dots of sticky rubber like the ones credit cards come with in the mail. Some headliners do not hold the velcro and need to be pinned in. these come in roll or sheet, used for posters etc.

I’m going to look into this. Thanks for the tip! The Velcro has held well but we haven’t been able to find sheets of hook Velcro to cut to fit better and the patches are getting a bit warped. The cool thing is the boards have held up well in a Florida and an Arizona Summer which we are VERY happy with

Thank you Randy! And thanks for the support! We appreciate you and hopefully you subscribed to the channel for more how-tos! We just posted a video on how to change your cabin air filter in less than 15 minutes, saving you at least $50!

so it's been about 1.5 years now. How are these holding up, and what would you do differently if anything?

The boards have stayed in place with the Jeep staying outside in the Florida and Arizona summers. That was my biggest fear.
What I’ve found though is the material I used as the “hook” will sag over time. If I were doing it differently I’d use a spray glue AND staple it to hopefully prevent sag

@@overlandzam I was wondering about the sag factor. Thanks for letting me know. Off to make a set!

If you were to do this over again, would you buy insulation material instead of using a foam board? I'm debating whether or not I want to buy the foam board like you did or buy insulation material instead.
Regardless, best video online that I've found for DIY Jeep Headliners!

Eric, thank you so much for the kind words! When I was looking into doing this I noticed not many people had a step-by-step how to and I wanted to make that to share with others. Headliners are very pricy if you're mainly wanting them for patches. If I were to ever redo these, I think I would look more into getting some sort of insulation to stick there too. Truthfully, I had the thought of making these with minimal info/tools and created an in-depth guide as I was figuring stuff out! I hope this helps and you were able to make even better headliners than I did haha

Great video man! Only question is how is it doing with the heat rejection?

Circling back to your question (my previous response was removed after changing some stuff with my account) earlier I didn't have an answer for you. Now in AZ we've had plenty of hot days, the Jeep has baked in the sun numerous times and the boards are still as solid as hey have been! There was some sagging with the felt, but I used a tac and fixed it very easily. I'd still recommend what I did with the heat.
