Ash Lake skull should be on this list. It’s a really minor thing but there’s like 20 theories with it. Purging Stone theory, Oni theory, Nameless Blacksmith Deity theory, Halfdragon half giant theory, Primordial Serpent theory, It’s insane.
For Marika's impalement, the Elden Beast actually DOES have a non-gold attack. In fact, it's a grab, using the same spear to impale you repeatedly. The coloring is very reminiscent of Destined Death, which is also interesting.
‼️One thing that is very important scince many people get it wrong is: The charm is not mindcontrol, but instead calms the charmed one down and lets them forget about painfull and selfdestructive emotions and raises their loyalty to miquella due to him being some sort of messiah who forgives everyone and brings peace. Reason 1: Nothing ever defines or explains the charm as "mindcontrol". Ansbach only speaks of that miquella "shrives clean the heart of men" (shrive means to listen to someones confession and grand them forgiveness, mostly done by priests). He never says that the charm forces you to do anything. Reason 2: The npcs dont describe the charm as mind control once the spell broke. They all dont make a huge fuss about as you would expect if they were used as puppets and instead talk as if they only regained their emotions about something negative and harmful. Leda for example killed all other needle knights due to her not trusting others, but she didnt kill anyone once she was charmed. She says so herself that she trusted people more while she was charmed but now that the spell is broken begins to kill the others too. She feels paranoia again. morn was actually happy while he was charmed due to him forgetting the about pain he felt after being abondoned by marika. He finds a sort of new family in the companions of miquella, but he gets depressed once the charm broke. He feels the pain again. hornsent disliked the people of the lands between even while being charmed but still has a soft side which we can see if we give him the soup from his home. He gets filled with hate and revenge once the spell broke and tries to kill messmer and hates others again. he feels the loss again. Ansbach is sadend by the death of mohg, but still moves on for the greater good of others. He was feared soldiers in moghs army and killed countless innocent people, but acts now as a mentor for the other companions. He however remembers the guilt for failing his lord once the spell broke. His armor even tells us that there is no justice in killing miquella, but he still cant let go due to his feeling of guilt. he is even surprised if we help him and questions our senity, suggesting that it is unreasonable to go against miquella. He feels the guilt of failing his lord again. Reason 3: It doesnt make sense for mohg to still follow his own goals if the charm realy was mindcontrol. Just as you pointed out. Mohg clearly still follows his own ambitions. We know this because he talks about his own mohggwyn dynasty and not miquellas age of compassion, he also tries to share his blood with miquella, who rejects him ( based on mohgs remembrance). Mohg and his follower still believe that their own age will come and even claimed noble status in this new dynasty (based on the sanguine nooble set description). This new age is with 100% certainty not the age of compassion as this age they are talking is based on the outer god of the formless mother who has nothing to do with miquellas new age. The age of compassion is based on miquellas crown of light ( we know this from the item descrition) However all begins to make sense if the spell is not mindcontroll as explained ealier. Mohg kidnapped miquella for his own goal as he needed an empyrien to start his new dynasty. He tries to corrupt miquella with blood offerings as blood is the domain of the formless mother and mohg. This is also supported by mohg talisman description. Miquella however is not helpless, he knew that mohg was planning to kidnapp him and used this oppertunity for his plan. Miquella needs a vessel for radahn and needs to acces the shadow lands as this is the place where the souls of the dead go (based on the tower description in the dlc) and where the gate of divinity is located. Mohg is the perfect oppertunity as he has both omenblood ,which would grand him acces to the shadow lands ( the land of the omen/ hornsent) and is a suitible vessel for his consort radahn. Miquella charmed mohg so that he wouldnt get suppiscous of him by suppressing the feelings of doubt and distrust so that he wouldnt intevine in his plan similar to ansbach who noticed and tried to kill miquella. mohg was oblivios to this as he is clearly still confinced that he will get his dynasty. This is the charm Ansbach talked about, mohg was unable to detect miquellas plan. This being said, mohg is a huge piece of sht and not innocent in the slitest. He killed countless innocent people as sacrifices to the formless mother ( we can see these corpses scatered around Mohggwyn palast) heck even on his spear are dead people. He died due to his own hubris and greed. He deserved his fate. Explination for radahn and miquella: Miquella wants to create a world free of suffering, the age of compassion. Miquella in the base game is descripted as a kind and caring person and he still is in the dlc. We know from the crown of light that miquella (his crown) would have been the fundament of this age, not the elden ring. Miquella also wants to stop the influence of the outer gods on the lands between. In order to start a new age, one needs a god and a king, for example marika/radagon and godfrey. Miquella is an empyrian, that means that he can become a god. Only empyrians aka malenia, ranni and miquella can become true gods (all the other omes like mohg and midra are only lords, never gods). He however also needs a king consort. Here is where radahn comes into place. But why radahn? There are three reasons why: 1. Radahn was a kind person. We know from consort radahns remembrance that miquella made the hearfelt wish that radahn would be his consort. The text tells us that it was because miquella saw in radahn a kind person (his horse, saving selia protecting the world from astel etc) 2. There is not realy another option. Every other demigod is either crazy dead or has their own goals. Godwyn is dead too. Why not malenia? Most likely because she is 1. His twin sister 2. An empyrian cannot become king consort themself 3. She is cursed with scarlet rot. 3. He is simply in love with radahn. The remembrance specificly uses the words "heartfelt wish". Why else would fromsoft use these specific words, when it comes to marriage? Miquella talks very highly when he adresses radahn. We can also see that miquella embraces radahn in the death animation as they both die. Miquella made a vow with radahn and radahn agreed. We know this from his name "promised consort radahn". And now from the official lore book too. That means radahn is NOT being controlled, he shares miquellas goal. The vow goes something like this: Malenia will grant radahn a warriors death (the battle of caelid). After that will miquella revieve radahn inside a vessel in the shadow lands at the gate of divinity so that he can become a god and radahn his consort. Why would radahn agree? Reasons: 1. Radahn is, while still being a general, a kind ruler. He idolyses godfrey. Godfrey too suppresed his warrior side to become a better ruler for his people. Radahn wants to follow his example. 2. Radah is NOT loyal to the golden order. He only praises his father radagon and godfrey, not the golden order itself. We know this because morgott calls all the demigods traitors, this includes radahn. Why would morgott, the biggest golden order fanboy, call radahn a traitor if he was loyal to the order? We also know from the intro that morgott and radahn fought against eachother. 3. Radahn yearns for a warrior death and he needs to die in order to travel to the shadow lands where the gate of divinity is located. We know from the great tower in the dlc, that this is the place where all souls travel, this includes radahn. So he chose a warrior death from the only person who could match him in combat, malenia. This is why he spares her in the trailor. But why is radahn in this rotted state and why is he still clinging to life? The reason is because the duell failed. Malenia was not able to defeat radahn. She had to use her hated scarlet rot to regain the upper hand. The sacrlet aeonia wasnt planned by miquella, it was a last resort from malenia to complet her promise. This is why the destruction seems so out of character for miquella, because it was never planned to happen. Miquella tried all his life to heal his sister from the sacrelt rot and seal it with his needle, so it is unreaseble to asume that he planned to use it. We also know from freyja that miquella searched the battle field for survivors and healed them from thw scarlet rot. He tried to save as many as possible, he also later created the needle knights whos task was it to travel the land and heal those afflicted. This ia why their ash of war curse all status affects. But even the scarlet rot wasnt enough to kill radahn, it only destroyed his mind. But why does he still refuse to die? Simple, the promise wasnt completted. And as long as he doesnt get his warrior death will he keep on living. He also needs to hold the stars until someone finally completes the promise. This is why the radahn festival was founded, to find a warrior who is strong enough to kill him. Malenia is uncouncios inside the haligtree after the bloom, so she cant finish him. Until this the plan cant continue, because his soul isnt in the shadow land yet. However after we kill him can the plan continue. This is why radahn fights along side miquella, the vow has been honored. We can hear this in game to in thw introcutscene of the bossfight.
@@justreadberserkd1021 Most of your points are true. Emphasis on most since most could be proven with what is in-game. The rest are still widely accepted if not debatable. Very insightful. Cheers to us genuine fans mate!

The Nameless King is Ornstein. When the giant raven dies, he sacrifices it exactly the same way he does it with Smough. Also uses a spear, similar moveset, and you can find Ornstein armor right after the fight in the area of the now king.
Ornstein in DS3 is irrelevant to Ornstein in DS. In DS3's intro it is clearly explained that the lands have been pulled out of time to the focal point of Lothric. Essentially the Ornstein in DS3 is from before the chosen undead went on it's journey.
1-For Radanh, mostly is possible the promise was an epic death in a fight. And, yeah, Miquella wants peace, but he also is happy to destroy anything between him and that peace. 2-Or Greed for power or a possible racism by Ancient Dragons for Drakes. 3-Furtive Pygmie is unnamed because he's the Prime Human, but fun fact. The tower we see in the Ringed City, the one where Midir stay before he attack us, is called Mausoleum of Royal Family. Royal Family means the kings of Pygmies, so probably the furtive Pygmie is inside that Mausoleum, dead after ages. 4-If i remember well, the unwanted child is mistranslated, it should be more like Cursed or something like that, and it's a lot probably Godwyn. Mausoleums are surrounded by knights empowered with Deathblight. About the children inside the mausoleums, probably they was all Demigods or like Godrick descendants of the Golden Lineage, killed during the Night of the Black Knifes. 5-As he left a miracle on his father's tomb when he left, probably he still loved him, and also, it's never said Gwyn hated Dragons. Yes, he fought them to conquer the surface, but then he made Seath Duke (And Gwynevere's husband.) and used Midir as a weapon, as he did with the pale demons. 6-It's not clear, as the Lands Between is both a quote to Middle-Earth and Berserk, for a place between reality and dream. we just know names and at least some church of the Fingers outside. 7-Retcon. Yeah, theories of golems and souls, but it's a retcon after the mess of Dark Souls 2. 8-Yeah, probably just a random sorcerer. 9-Great Ones are humans, precisely Pthumerians of Isz, as the description of a chalice of it says clear that in Isz the Great Ones obtained Transcendant Thoughts, the thing the Church and Ebrietas wants. No strange beings of other dimentions, just humans too much evoluted. 10-GW never really cared for the Lands Between, it just throw the Elden Ring and watched, probably leavin Metyr when she stopped the creation of new fingers. 11-Outer Gods are Kami, creatures that incarnate a concept of something natural, but there are two point about it. First, Outer is not because they come from Space, but because they are Outer of the Golden Order Think, only gods called Outer are Rot, Death, Frenzied Flame and Cursed Blood, all something the Golden Order hates. Second, Gw is not an Outer God, it is something DAMN superior, Greater literally. If they are like Greek Gods, GW is like Monotheistic God. 12-The spear, except being a DAMN CLEAR reference to Christ and Evangelion, possibly is made of Destined Death, a blocked but still part of the Elden Ring aka the Elden Beast. 13-Dark Age is the best future for humanity. It's not just a way to be free from Gods, but even from the mark they put on humans, the Dark Sign, making humans immortal again in a world where Dark is not anymore something toxic for us. We are creatures of the Dark after all. (Oolacile was a humanity out of control, not the real Age of Dark) Also, the Dark Lord, aka us, is capable to control the Stagnation of Time, this means rule everything, everywhere and everytime.
Coloring of the spear is similar to destined death,so marika betraying greater will might have turned maliketh against her like how blaidd turned mad.And maliketh might have impaled her
Fun and infuriating as it might be coming up with theories pertaining to the plot and storyline of these Soulsbourne titles I never bother doing so. However I do enjoy watching other folks content such as this cool video on the subjects simoly for the thrill of it. And you do an amazing job besides mate. Peace.
A good one is Marika’s reasoning for sealing away Messmer in the Land of Shadow. We know that her fear compelled her to do so, but a fear of what? Messmer? The abyssal serpent? Consequences for the genocide? Fear of loving a child as accursed as Messmer? Something else? After all, we do have in-game evidence that Marika did love Messmer, and Messmer is the only child other than Godwyn to have been stated to have been loved by Marika.
I don’t know all the lore but from what I do know I feel like it was a combination of a lot of things which is why the game just states it as general fear. I think in part it was to hide her actions. She went through the effort of hiding away the entire land of shadow to cover up her actions and I feel like Messmer would have been a symbol of her crimes against the hornsent. I think if people had known about the crimes against the hornsent it could have caused some to look at the omen more sympathetically, which would have gone against marika’s intention to exile the omens as outcasts. The omen beared a divine connection to the crucible, but with marikas history with the omen she would never have allowed the omen to be viewed as anything other than impurities. I think people in the lands between may have been more susceptible to questioning the exiling of the omen’s if they had known it had way more to do with marina personal history than it being the will of the greater will. It seems marika was very intent on trying to hide as many of her ulterior motives as possible, so it makes sense she would want to hide this one as well. I think the other main part of it was fear of not necessarily messmer himself, but the abyssal serpent within him. Marika gave messmer the seal to help him contain the abyssal serpent but with how easily he broke it in his boss fight, we can see at any given moment he is only seconds away from releasing the serpent. Plus the flames of messmer would have had the power to burn the erdtree which would bring marika’s golden order to ruin. I think she couldn’t fully trust messmer to keep the serpent contained, because as we know from his crimes against the hornsent he was ab extremely violent and aggressive person. In short, not only was messmer a symbol of her actions in the land of shadow, he was a physical threat to everything she wanted to build in the lands between.
I may as well throw in my own speculation for Radahn and Malenia conflict, now with hindsight of the entire game + DLC. It's a bit of a long read and doesn't explain _everything_ . I apologize. Radahn and Malenia fought because of the Shattering. After Marika destroyed the Elden Ring, it shattered, and she said to all her children to see who gets to be the next God. At that point, Radahn went after his own interests, he wanted to be the most powerful being in the Lands Between. He wanted to conquer and subdue everyone like Godfrey before him. Radahn's part in the pact and him being cool with it basically amounts to "yeah, I will fight anyone and everyone, and become the strongest. But _if_ I get defeated and killed in battle, I'm cool with being your consort and doing more fighting post-resurrection." Until Radahn dies, he has no intention or reason to help out Miquella, and fights for his own pieces of the Elden Ring. He presumably attacked Leyndell, which would indicate that he wanted to claim the capital city and the strongest bastion in the Lands Between. He fought for his right to become the next Elden Lord. It is unknown whether Miquella knew how to ascend to godhood back during the Shattering, but if he did, it is very much possible that he sent Malenia to kill Radahn, so that he can have a loyal uber-powerful consort and usher in a new age right away. We know that Malenia marched across the entire world, ignored other demigods, and went after Radahn specifically. She was sent by Miquella to collect Radahn's soul and send him back to Miquella, who'd resurrect him. Miquella would then have an undefeated swordswoman and a warrior so powerful he defeated the stars and stopped their movement across the sky. He might be able to just ascend to godhood right away and not need to seek out + defeat all other demigods, collect their runes and do all that extra work. We see in the DLC that he did ascend to godhood with pretty much nothing. It is possible that the pact was made long before the Shattering, and the conflict was a convenient way for Miquella to pull the strings in a way that would allow him to become a God. Of course, the plan failed, because Radahn survived, and Malenia was knocked out for a good while. Miquella had to change priorities, and went to Mohg as his plan B. Malenia returned to an empty Haligtree, but with a note or some other kind of assurance that Miquella was fine and just away, so she just waited for Miquella to return. Malenia, despite being fiercely loyal to Miquella, is not really bothered by his absence - she says herself that she is simply waiting for him to return. Miquella wasn't kidnapped, he didn't escape unnoticed, otherwise she and the Haligtree soldiers would search for him. But instead, they are all at the Haligtree, looking out to see his return. He informed them that he would, and went out on his own volition. Miquella's plan with Mohg is unclear to me right now, I don't know if he planned all along to ignore Mohg, use his presence to travel to the Lands of Shadow and then use his corpse to resurrect Radahn - it seems like a bit of a stretch to have this sequence of events as a _plan_ . Maybe his original intentions were different, but things didn't exactly work out and he resorted to just putting himself to deep sleep with Trina's help, and await a better moment for his next plans. It certainly seems to me that Miquella, being unresponsive and unmoving for a long time, was sleeping, maybe since around the times of the Shattering. Once he awoke, he continued enacting his plan to become the next God, as if no time had passed, but without Malenia he had to pick a different route. Maybe during his sleep, he ruminated on the nature of Godhood, how to do it better and what went wrong the last time, and that's when he decided to shift a little bit, rid himself of all "impurities" and the rest of his plan is basically the DLC.
Some of these mysteries could be pieced together if you manage getting your fingers on cut dialogue and stuff that were not included in the finished work. Great video buddy, as usual. Great choice of topic also. Cheers!
Ever wondered how it was possible there was a Lord of Frenzied flame already awaiting a player (who may have become the dame Lord of Frenzied flame back in the Lands Between back in the base game) in the Shadow lands?
Technically Midra was not yet the Lord of Frenzied Flame, he became it when he fight us, and even if he was... it became a real problem only if the Lord reach the Elden Ring.
@@themaniae4803 Thank you for responding! Now how does it make sense there is (should the player choose the corresponding ending) a Lord of frenzied flame in the base game as well as one in the DLC when we fight Midra?
@@themaniae4803 Thank you for sharing. Now how is it logical there is a Lord of Frenzied flame in the base game (should the player pick the corresponding ending) as well as one in the DLC when Midra is fought? Unless the game insinuates there be 2 of such outer gods or the Frenzied flame could possess 2 fellows as well?
@@SamaelMorningstar-bx4ng Heyetta's quest line which is important for clearly explains to you that the god of frenzy can posses multiple people and even use spirits that are on it's side like shabriri. It becomes clear when Shura that fought alongside you and you helping him with his quests becomes possesed by shabriri and appears in mountain tops covering his face (he covers his face as to not giveaway that infact Shura is dead and that someone else who is good at lying posseses his body).
Personally I feel the fact the lore of Elden Ring is vague and not defined is an immense rip-off. Given how much lore is presented to the player to chew on, it would have been nice for the game to at least be on par with Sekiro's level of storytelling where the lore is not so divisive and vague and is rather like a puzzle which becomes clearer and clearer the more you explore and the more pieces you get instead of literally doing everything you can in the game and are still left clueless about even what the main theme of the story is; what message you were to take home ultimately. For instance you get to know- by defying Shinobi Owl and completing questline for the dragon tears who the demon of hatred truly is. This is due to the fact Emma is named the daughter to his true identity. So even if Wolf claims ti not recall the Demon of Hatred's true identity (added to the fsct the okd hag decides it is better you not knowing), you can still be perfectly certified beyond reasonable doubt eho the Demonsm of Hatered truly is for a myriad of logical reasons. Similarly, you get knowing Owl was actually behind the chaos in Ashina when you choose the Shura ending and side with gim instead betraying Lord Kuro. He never truly admits this however he might as well have right before you kill him since his intentions are laid bare before his demise at Wolf's (Sekiro's) hands. Come to Elden Ring and the fact there is almost too much lore, unfinished dialogue and lack of the consistent chronological sequence we once had back in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and any observant player will find the fact Elden Ring had so much story to offer with a lot of interesting characters makes it a poor choice for the degree of vagueness we get in the finished work. It wastes a lot of characters as it takes away from comprehending them to a satisfying degree, it removes focus from some sone characters especially the NPCs some of whom give us the quest lines such as the dungeater and it wastes most of the endings overall. There are so many reasons Fromsoft got this chouce wrong and though a lot of these mysteries could be pieced together by making some pretty arguous mental gymnastics this is not something that should be expected of an audience. I love every one of the Soulsbourne titles. However the lack of satisfactory clarity in Elden Ring took a good chunk of enjoyment from my experience. Peace.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. I would add that there are instances where the lore is almost contradictory. The story trailer and Rogier's dialogue make it seem like Marika shattered the Elden Ring because of despair caused by Godwyn's death. Yet Gideon Offnir states that it could have been because of Miquella's abduction??? (I see no one talking about this btw) There's no puzzle to solve in Elden Ring, the lore just feels all over the place. Item descriptions AREN'T NEARLY ENOUGH to piece everything together. There's no story told through environment (only things you can tell are that Stormveil Castle is deathblighted and that pieces of Farum Azula crashed from the sky). The NPC's quests don't really help in understanding this world either; I loved Rogier because I felt like I was finally getting to know wtf was goin' on here, but they killed him before we could get anything substancial. Also, the little info we are given is insanely "obscure" and that makes everything worse...
I'll try to piece a good response based on paragraph 2... 1) Too much lore: Indeed, and this lore should have been presented in a more straight-forward way. I'll use Bloodborne as an example. We get to Father Gascoigne and in Phase 2 he transforms into a beast. The game is subtly telling us that the cause of the Beastly Scourge is the Blood imbibed by everyone. Adding some physical evidence to certain events could have helped (like they did with Malenia's 2nd bloom). 2) Unfinished dialogue: Yes, I would add that certain dialogue is also unnecesarily cryptic. A bit of cryptic dialogue to spice things up can be a good thing, so long as it's backed up by clues. Another Bloodborne example: Alfred. "But I have heard that the holy medium of Blood Healing is venerated in the main cathedral." We find Laurence's Skull being venerated by Vicar Amelia in the Cathedral, all Yharnamites have their left arms longer than the right ones, they develop fur and fangs, the note stating him as a purveyor of blood, etc. They literally just had to put some evidence for us to piece together everything and have that "A-ha!!" moment. 3) Lack of consistent chronological sequence: I think they made a bigger story than they could handle. They included so many events and ended up not expanding on them. Godrick vs. Malenia could have been scrapped and the story would have been the same. Scrapping some events and leaving some notes here and there could help...
4) Wastes a lot of the characters: True, and it hurts... The story could have been told in enmities between the characters or groups. Rogier and Fia vs. Darian, Cuckoos vs. Carians, Rykard vs. The Golden Order, Morgott vs. The Demigods, etc. More interactions between characters and factions would expand the world, make it interesting, and more lively. 5) Wastes most of the endings: All we get is a cutscene of the landscape. I wish they did something akin to the Burning Erdtree cutscene. I want to see what people think and feel of the fate chosen for them, it would make the world feel as if it had actual consequences. We would get an actual conclusion to our story. Only ending that is well made is the worst one: The Lord of Frenzied Flame. 6) Mental Gymnastics: It requires that and datamining as well in some cases. That is just absurd! Many details could have been placed in more accesible places, like buildings, dialogue or notes. P.D. I didn't enjoy Elden Ring in terms of lore either, I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like this. Your comment is crazy good! Rarely do I ever spot comments as well structured as yours! Take good care friend!!!
Fun fact, they are the same... kinda. In Ds1 the choice is Link the fire or Age of Dark, and in that case age of Dark is simply Humanity immortal again and Dark Lord control stagnation of time, so win-win for we humans. In Ds3 the Dark was abused and censored, becoming angry and exploding in human pus, like Gundyr, or becoming the Depths, a place of pure corruption where only bad insects are born, like flies and parasites, instead of normal dark that generate good insects, like cicadas. Aldritch deep sea age is just an Age of Dark full of these terrible creatures, where humanity will become like the Murkman we see at the start of the Ringed City Dlc.
@@themaniae4803 yeah ik ds1’s age of dark didn’t sound that bad lol. but yeah i think i agree but maybe it was an ocean of water & stuff that would’ve been cool but maybe it was just the deep
I always wondered that also. When messmer dies he calls "mother" and "Marika". I felt, given by his whole transition into phase 2 based on him plucking his eye like the folks in Naruto Shippuden, would be the gloam eyed queen. However I believe now that might not be the scenario given: Marika's Shadow, Maliketh destroyed the Gloam eyed queen with the godskins hence, no way could Messmer have been loyal to both. Thus I felt more at ease with believing he first calls Marika addressing her as"mother" the he calls her by name, "Marika" in his agony for whatever reason he as any son let down by his parent could be. Thee is both the singular and plural form of "you" as utilized in the old days by Englishmen. Hence Messmer was actually addressing the same person. Although even if Marika was not his mother, the mere fact he shares Raddagons red hair (much as the twin prodigies Miquella and Malenia) and has a curse upon him (also much as twin prodigies Miquella and Malenia) speaks volumes. Peace mate!
In game descriptions and creatures says a lot of times he is Marika's son, and even not trusting the words of creatures, descriptions are always true. (And if we take the theory of Melina=GeQ, they were brothers.) And Miyazaki himself said in an interview that he's Marika's son.
‼️One thing that is very important scince many people get it wrong is:
The charm is not mindcontrol, but instead calms the charmed one down and lets them forget about painfull and selfdestructive emotions and raises their loyalty to miquella due to him being some sort of messiah who forgives everyone and brings peace.
Reason 1:
Nothing ever defines or explains the charm as "mindcontrol". Ansbach only speaks of that miquella "shrives clean the heart of men" (shrive means to listen to someones confession and grand them forgiveness, mostly done by priests). He never says that the charm forces you to do anything.
Reason 2:
The npcs dont describe the charm as mind control once the spell broke.
Reason 3:
It doesnt make sense for mohg to still follow his own goals if the charm realy was mindcontrol.
The age of compassion is based on miquellas crown of light ( we know this from the item descrition)
However all begins to make sense if the spell is not mindcontroll as explained ealier.
Explination for radahn and miquella:
Miquella wants to create a world free of suffering, the age of compassion.
There are three reasons why:
1. Radahn was a kind person. We know from consort radahns remembrance that miquella made the hearfelt wish that radahn would be his consort. The text tells us that it was because miquella saw in radahn a kind person (his horse, saving selia protecting the world from astel etc)
The vow goes something like this:
Malenia will grant radahn a warriors death (the battle of caelid). After that will miquella revieve radahn inside a vessel in the shadow lands at the gate of divinity so that he can become a god and radahn his consort.
Why would radahn agree? Reasons:

Ornstein in DS3 is irrelevant to Ornstein in DS.
In DS3's intro it is clearly explained that the lands have been pulled out of time to the focal point of Lothric.
Essentially the Ornstein in DS3 is from before the chosen undead went on it's journey.
The unwanted child is 100% Messemer
Peace.
Exactly. With how big Elden Ring is, the usual "vague lore and melancholy vibes of decay" just isn't cutting it.
(I see no one talking about this btw)
There's no puzzle to solve in Elden Ring, the lore just feels all over the place.

Fun fact, they are the same... kinda. In Ds1 the choice is Link the fire or Age of Dark, and in that case age of Dark is simply Humanity immortal again and Dark Lord control stagnation of time, so win-win for we humans. In Ds3 the Dark was abused and censored, becoming angry and exploding in human pus, like Gundyr, or becoming the Depths, a place of pure corruption where only bad insects are born, like flies and parasites, instead of normal dark that generate good insects, like cicadas. honestly i don’t believe that marika is really the mother of messmer i think messmer’s mother is gloam eyed queen
