The chronic fatigue community (of which I am one) needs better support to cope with the longer-term consequences of falling ill and, importantly, recognition that such conditions exist that devastate out lives. I like your thinking. I’d never seen this type of therapy before.
I have CPTSD (early childhood trauma) and hubby is a ‘Nam veteran, would love to know if this could crossover to use in PTSD treatment for successful remapping the brain and getting out of this nightmare of living with a stuck sympathetic nervous system. I’ve been looking into vagal nerve resetting techniques for the past few months. I can’t find a therapist and there are some simple videos on how to do it yourself, like sticking your hands or face in ice water, specific breathing techniques, etc - my issue with them, is for me, I find the positive effects to be super short term with the DIY techniques.

@@horsnpony365 Seeing this made me also wonder whether it might help me with my CPTSD, adult trauma recovery, and cognitive impairments resulting from my bipolar 1 disorder.
My psychiatrist is recommending me for a VNS study to help with depression, but I would also really like to know if there is any help for my other PTSD, trauma and most especially cognitive impairments. I wonder if there’s a brain treatment similar to the one Ren undergoes that might help improve my cognition?🤔

Hi David, research on Dr. David Amen studies on damaged brains through making more than 80000 brain scans.. There's a 10 years old TED talk of about 20 min that explains what they found out on veterans, hard sports professionals or hard brain injuries through accidents... Basically, what they can prove is that physical damage makes the brain developed "mental" dis-orders in the sense that it can't functionally work normally. They also proved that music or specific beats frequencies and meditation was restoring the brains in a high percentage of cases.... and this was about 10 years ago! Im sure today they have found out much more, I know it works with ADHD and other mental conditions. I hope this helps you 😃🥰😍

I wasn't on Patreon then and missed this. This is fantastic stuff. I love it. I worked as a specialist counsellor for high intelligence children and one of my colleagues was doing research with brain scans of high intelligence male uni students doing math while in an MRI. The scans showed that the left/right brain differentiation theory didn't exist and both sides of the brain lit up like a Christmas tree. The best bit was that the most used bits for math problems were the frontal lobes followed by a super highway to the emotional centre. It seems logic and math is mediated by your emotions. As math and music are linked, I'd love to see your brain in an fMRI Ren. We all know that you are right off the bell curve in intelligence and creativity, so your MRI scans would be amazing! We're all thinking of you and sending you lots of love and big hugs from Australia.

This was a fascinating insight into your days in the Canadian clinic Ren. It was really interesting to see how they are retraining your brain with music and light stimulation. I resonated with what they are trying to do by retraining your brain to react in a more relaxed and balanced way to inner and outside stimulus.
I use binaural music at home for brain training and bilateral sonics in connection with EMDR exercises for semi-frequent brain zaps and constant rhythmical vascular pulse-synchronous tinnitus. This is because I have an extremely narrow ear canal on my right side and restricted flow through my blood vessels due to damage and kinks in the vessels of my brain around my inner ear; which changes the pressure in my brain and affect my hearing and creating sound imbalance and distortion. I also use brown and white noise to help me relax and sleep, when my CFS is bad listening to music really helps me. I know from experience what music I need to listen to and when. I find your music really helps me so much. So thank you Ren!

Amazing video Ren, I have been through this for the chronic pain I have 25+ years all day everyday. Despite this condition I know that I can look around and find so many folks that have it worse than me and that is very humbling and freeing. I remember the computer the headphones and a rather dark room. Found it to be very helpful as it was reinforcing the computers goal for me to respond a certain way. Through repetition the brain's training will move into the goal range more quickly.
This is an individual process and we are all different in our responses. Ren I will pray for you to have the best results possible and there will be relief to improve your life and experience of this state we call life.

This is actually fascinating stuff. When I was little I considered going into neurology because the brain is just so intriguing and perplexing

Absolutely FASCINATING. The human brain is an incredible machine... a machine we actually know so little about. But the little we do know is stunningly awesome.
THANK YOU Ren and friends for allowing us a peek into this. We love you, Ren and are sending love and light your way. Many thanks to Amanda, as well, for explaining it so well.

I've been to Canada; it's a lovely place. Enjoy it while you're there 😎
    Love you, bro ❤️

Good to see these gizmos in use again. There was a wgile range of things like this available in the late 90's to mid noughties. I have tried many of them. Still have some. Useful for training the brain at home.

Very interesting! I had neurosurgery & was partially paralysed after. Spent 6 months in rehab & was lucky enough to walk out with walking sticks. 2 months later I was walking unaided & back in work. The brain is truly amazing 😊

    Ren,
Your music and your art is so inspiring. Wanting to send a message of inspiration back to you.
Sometimes your music has changed the trajectory of my day. You give so many people hope. You connect so many other people together. I hear all the reaction channels talking about wanting to give hope to you right now.
Those who you connect to are all wishing you love and support.
You are going through some tough times right now. Sometimes we need to give ourselves some grace.
Sometimes we have to revisit those tough places, the dark places. You have clawed your way out of the Bell Jar before, please have some faith in the steps you once took and know you can do it again.
You are loved, you are cared for, you deserve grace, and all the well wishes I personally can muster.
Sorry, I don’t have social media, so I am just going to leave this here for you.

I'm in awe. Thanks for sharing a little of yourself with us.
You should write and record a 4 part series about how much you love music, maybe a little busking now and then. Ya never know, you could build a fan base and possibly do things that no one has ever done. Just stay independent and humble❤😂

Wow that cap is way more handy than when they glue the electrodes on individually! Sounds like Ren is halfway to earning a degree in Neurology at this point.
