I worked for Orange in the early years, and let me tell you the future wasn’t ‘bright’ at all. They opened up a massive new call centre in my area, employed hundreds of people, had free rent for a few years from the local council because they were bringing so many jobs to the area. Then after 9 years everyone in my call centre was made redundant so they could send our work to India instead for cheap labour. And guess what?? 7 years later it came back to the UK because customers were fed up of trying to explain issues to staff who couldn’t understand a single word they were saying.

Orange and T-Mobile (One 2 One) were better as separate companies. BT have ruined EE imo. Customer service is naff now and prices are higher than they’ve ever been.

Orange where brilliant ,customer service was excellent 24/7 customer service answered by a human ..untill they where I think swallowed up by EE ..which is awful
Everything you've just said was destroyed by France Telecom. Orange customer service post 2005 was shocking, indian call centres and long wait times. Back when adverts weren’t obnoxious and telling us to boss this, smash that, you got this etc.
I want to congratulate you on this comment.
Good to hear Paul Vaughan's voice, the narrator of many a BBC Horizon documentary.

Iike most companies these days to be fair. Sorry to hear of your job loss though mate.

And what happened to you?
@@elixier33 interesting that Three and orange back then were both owned by Hutchison Telecom. They sold off Orange then launched Three
