If they kick you out of the preview program for your honest and thoughtful perspective on the situation, it's probably for the best for yourself and your audience
I’m playing the game on PC and I am running into a lot of these issues. Even so I am still blown away at how incredible this game is. It’s just sad that these issues are dimming that experience.
Haven’t had any issues on the ps5 and I’ve played through the story almost twice now, most of the issues I hear about are from the PC port of the game, and at this point the most surprising thing to me is that people are surprised. Happens pretty much every big triple A game that releases on the PC and has happened since, well, Arkham knight is the first title that comes to my mind, but that’s because that’s when I started really getting into gaming, could have been an issue longer than that and I just wasn’t around to hear about it.
It's been a great experience for me, even with bugs. However, I got a bunch of shit and before I could go save at a meditation spot, the game crashed. It's got a memory leak somewhere. This only happens on long sessions.
I have about 4 hours of playtime but still haven't got to Greez yet because of the same problem. It's gotten slightly better (finally got off Coruscant) but it still pops up "memory leak" even while I'm monitoring mem usage and only hitting 75%
Same here I'm having a fun time with just a few bugs (random crashing, models not loading). unrelated but: I was talking about the game in a forum just saying how much I was enjoying it and just pushing through the bugs and appreciating it for the story and such. Got flamed for it suuuper hard. Kinda sucks.
@@MassiveMiniGaming, don't take it personally. It's the Internet and people are upset that one of their most anticipated games is in a rough state, which it shouldn't be.
@@MassiveMiniGaming yeah of course you do. if you enjoy it even with bugs the message your are sending to the devs is : this is all fine, no need to fix anything. and the result is not that the game will not be fixed, but that future games are gonna be even worse by far.
Exactly if devs are gonna release a souls type game where you can only save at meditation points then it should be a crime to release it at a broken state. You can easily lose so much progress all because there is no auto saves. Other than that tho this game is very fun
I remember trying to play Fallen Order on my xbox one back in the day and really struggling due to performance issues. Years later I came back to it on my computer that could easily handle the game and had a completely different experience. Performance can have a huge impact on enjoyment, especially when good timing and precise control is required.
Same situation for me but PS4. I just got a PC, hopefully I'll have the same experience as you. Really wanted to like the game but I was straight up pissed off by the bugs and shitty optimization even years after release.
Same. Never finished the game on og Xbox one cause it was a stutter fest. Playing through fallen order now on a 5800x3d and 4090 at 144 fps and it is so much better. Although I still get shader stutter so I think it's a problem with the engine unfortunately
Thank you for being brave enough to put your membership in the preview program at risk in order to be transparent and bring these issues to light! We need as many people with influence as possible to hold these people accountable. Seriously, thank you for this!
I'm not even optimistic about the people that got early access and have the courage to criticize the game because no fundamental criticism is offered even if all the technical issues are pointed out. I imagine that there isn't even a lot of risk attached to stating the obvious issues that everybody knows about by their own experience as soon as they're playing the game themselves. There's really no denying it and as bad as it looks the people that are defending the game from the company's side can actually be happy that gamers are satisfied by pointing out their ridiculous and baseless defenses and after that leave them alone until they publish their next unfinished game.
@@schadowizationproductions6205 These are the same people that get to see really early screeners for movies (test audiences) and then they complain about the unfinished VFX when the movie has two months to come out. Granted not the same but I haven't experienced any of these issues except minor frame rate drops. But, I selected the quality vs performance option. Which literally says right there that you may experience frame rate drops. Seems to me that these "reviewers" don't even read.
Seems like the only issues are coming from butthurt PC gamers. This is why most games wait what like 6 months before they release on PC? Respawn probably should've waited for that I guess. But on console (I'm on PS5) it's perfectly fine. And none of my friends that I've talked to, even PC gamers have had issues. Maybe they aren't overworking their 4 year old graphics cards
Keep up the good work Eck! Your honest feelings are more important than being able to put out the same semi scripted content grab that those corpo overlords want!
A perfect example of this is that I have had next to no issues with this game, but my friend, with a nicer more powerful computer, crashes at least 5 times an hour, and almost guaranteed after every cutscene. It’s insane. This game is not finished, and as much as I love it I am disappointed that this was approved for launch like this.
It’s so weird. I’m having a nice time playing on my laptop in medium settings at 1080p, and sure it dips to 30 sometimes which sucks but it’s mostly running fine. But my buddy on a desktop setup with a 3070 is having a terrible time running it,
It really sucks that so many people are having a terrible experience with such a great game. I’ve been playing on series X and it’s been running great and I would have been devastated if that had been my experience
@@g1rthburg3r2am7 I haven’t had any performance issues that have been visible (playing on quality mode not performance btw) although I did have a fun glitch were cal was fighting but the lightsaber was invisible. Just looked like someone pretending their in star wars lol.
Similar experience. I've been playing on ps5 and have only had a few random glitches like where enemies drag instead of walk or Cal jumps into a surface. Hopefully they get a patch so all platforms are running optimally.
@@lanehollis9302 I’m playing on PC and I haven’t crashed but when I die I have to restart because it won’t load(restart pc as a whole, I have a 3090 32gb ram ext) but I’ve had points running around 10 fps very randomly it’s ridiculous I payed 63$ for this shit(ea play discount) why do I have this pc if I can’t run this game💀
yes because they need to pump out content in order to make money. it's the same with the incels who make 30 fuckin' captain marvel videos a day but claim they hated it.
I still have an unpatched exploit on Fallen Order PC that just gives unlimited multiple jump anywhere in the game. Here's hoping giving this a few more months of updates makes it worthwhile
I feel really lucky that I’ve been experiencing the game with little to no issues so far. There’s an occasional stutter here and there, but nothing I would call THAT out of the ordinary. I wonder how many of the performance issues are hardware-specific.
@@Shadowkey392 kinda funny how that happens, I’m literally maxed out Epic, raytracing on and I’m only on a 3060 12g getting 80 frames in the thick of Koboh
They do, mankind taught them = Money means everything. Abuse people until you can't anymore. They follow those 2 basic evil rules. *Keep in mind, study was done on big name companies and most in charge of companies (CEO, board members etc...) were Psychopaths. Not the murdering kind, the manipulator/puppet master kind. Thier high level of INT. makes them liked by many very much. They learn what people like, do what they can, to get you as a friend etc.... then use you against yourself, against others while serving them w/o you knowing the manipulation, that is being done by them to you and how your being used to create a network of more for them to use.
Thank you for risking your status with them to be honest with your audience. I personally would love to be kept in the loop on the preview program stuff because if they drop an honest creator like you for being willing to talk about games like this they are no longer deserving of my money or attention. Thank you again for putting this video out and especially for doing it so soon after release.
This is why I always get my game reviews from channels like this. Channels with genuinely interesting and enjoyable content not one's just focused on reviewing games. It gives people a more honest look at the game and I'm truly thankful for the review so I didn't waste money on a half finished technical nightmare. No matter how good the game underneath is if the game has performance issues that render it in a terrible or unplayable state it isn't a good experience. Thank you and keep doing what your doing.
Honestly haven’t been online for Survivor till I finished the game, so sorry to any of you who had problems hoping it gets fixed quick cuz it is a beautiful game
Honestly. My experience was great. I managed to squeek out 60 frames at 1440 on high ultra settings. I guess I just had the correct combo of parts. Gpu and Cpu both amd too.
I actually fell for that tweet. I believed I’d be fine because I am more middle of the ground for my pc, so when they said it was only high end and low end I thought it was strange, but I’d be fine. The game has crashed at least 20 times for me in the 9.8 hours I’ve played it.
I really wish the games industry would stop the pattern of pushing a game out the door before it's done, and try to rush a day 1 patch before release to complete it, a lot of the time the day 1 patch is gigantic, and doesn't solve most of the problems anyway.
In most cases it's the large distributor/publisher that has fixed goals in their minds based on release dates and quarterly reports puching the developer to release 6 months or more before it's actually done. Management's idea is "Is it working? Ship it". Bugs are not important, and playtesters are expendable assets. Have to make that relase date at all costs. Well, EA, you made it before May 4th. Yay. Good luck recovering from this mess.
I played this game day one and I loved it. I've encountered no bugs at all and the gameplay is great. Most of the linear sections of the game run really smooth, white minor hickups from time to time. But then there are the large open areas on Koboh. Oh boy, what a performance nightmare. In quality mode I got drops to what felt like 15fps. The recent patch really upped the performance and image quality, although it's still not quite there. This game would have needed maybe one or two more months of development, and it would have been received much much better. The visuals and cinematography on this game are stunning. Truly a next gen title. Props to Respawn, to get this game running that good most of the time, with these kind of visuals. I play on Xbox Series X, so I can't talk about the PC version. Like I said one or two months, that's all it would have needed, on console at least.
I didn't have too many glitches, but two funny ones I remember were the following (SPOILERS) . . . 1. When Merrin can interact with Cal after he looks out towards the desert from the Jedi base on Jedha, she teleports away. In my game, she teleported, but her clothes stayed behind, which was funny to me because, well, naked Merrin walking around the desert. 2. When the big ass raider boss dude tells Cal to kill him, his avatar was glitching around, and during the super emotional moment where he died, the camera pans back to Cal (who just gave him a warriors death) and the dude's avatar was stood right behind him, glitching about.
I haven't played the game. But the theme I have noticed is that people with cutting edge computers are having performance issues, but people we less powerful setups have very little performance issues. I'm no computer guy, but it seems the game wasnt developed or tested on high quality systems
You are the Star Wars UA-cam that I respect the most right now because you are willing to talk about the issues during testing and potentially get kicked out which I hope you don’t. You care about your audience unlike bombastic
There was an update on may 1st that quote "We’ve released a patch for PC today to make some performance improvements for non-raytraced rendering. You can expect more PC updates as soon as possible" and i did get a very small improvement on frames when raytracing was turned of. The improvement wasn't a game changing improvement but a improvement non the less. The frames are still awful. Until Jedi survivor i hadn't played a game on my pc that wouldn't run at least 144 fps on max settings and this game ran anywhere from 10 to 65 with was the highest i saw it at during actual game play. Not saying this to defend the studios behind the game performance wise but at least it shows it probably get better.
Of course Respawn knew there were going to be issues at launch, they delayed the game those 6 weeks for a reason... imagine if they didn't delay it and how much worse it could be.
😂 It doesn't matter, In 2023 people want a game to be perfect at Launch, And that's how it has to be for people to even like a game now. I don't even see the reason why game companies should make a game if you have people like this
@@agentrabbit186 no, they want games to be playable. Acting as if the completely broken cutscenes and hitting 15 FPS at points with the test computers is a shitshow.
@@agentrabbit186 If the industry has to go under because games won't release in a playable state, so be it. You should be receiving a finished product for $80, not an early access beta build that's finished a year later from updates, or never actually finished at all. The current video game landscape is a money laundering scam scheme. If good, finished games are dead, let the industry die.
I can't even get past Koboh on my game, managed to get a good 15 seconds of playtime in today before it crashed for the 19th time. I want to enjoy this game so bad but it won't let me.
I had 2 crashes after deaths and once clipped into a wall and got soft locked. This was amidst 23 hours of flawless gameplay, no noticeable frame drops or anything. I count myself very lucky, because it was a fantastic experience
Only had one crash during a pause during a cutscene, since on PC the game files are always compiling to render textures to make sure that the cutscene runs smoothly and that there are no weird animations or assets not loading in. Purely because I was playing the game for the first time as I had just reached the yacht. I was just frequently checking my temperatures out of window. Got soft locked before the crane part but it's still fun playing the gameplay over again. Overall I considered myself lucky because of how decent if not great the performance was after my PC got used to the shitty performance optimisation. I'm able to run on high settings with FSR set at quality and I get an wide average of around 55-70+ FPS depending on clustering gameplay.
@@jb-jbjb you’ve got good specs icl, for a near high end the game should, even in my spec run way above 60 at a stable frame rate I hope to god this pc patch removes those stutters completely
Although I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the game, I still noticed a few issues. There were a few times when the game stuttered and had a few crashes, too, but those were the only issues apart from a couple of bugs where I had to restart my save, but I expected these bugs. But the performance issues really should be fixed first so that people can experience this game without stuttering. But I do find it weird that I only had the stutters on Koboh, but I didn't get them on any other world. As for what platform I'm on, Xbox Series S. Overall, the game is great, and I'm glad that there weren't any issues where I couldn't finish this amazing game, but I am sorry to those who couldn't.
I'm annoyed because I thought the new next gen consoles would improve the quality, especially the frame rate, but the game had none of that, but it was very fun, just very disappointing tho
I finished the game yesterday. My fpsdrops , thank god, only came when something big loaded, instead of infights or something. My experience was 10/10. Counting in the drops and the 1 crash i had, id say 9/10. Never had more dopamin in my body before
I am having a great time with the game but I would never try deny or diminish the fact that there are a load of issues with the game. I'm so happy to finally get to play this game but games tend to live and die by their first impressions now and the wider audience is going to recognize these issues and cast it off before it gets a chance to become stable. Games should launch stable of course, that needs to be the route companies need to take instead of forcing deadlines just to meet sales quotas. For those who haven't bought it and have an extra 152 gigs on a PS5, it's still a lot of fun. Just bear with the drops and hope a patch comes soon. It's worth it to experience Cal's story again.
This is so sad cuz I've been playing on PS5 and its just wonderful. Genuinely cant believe how much theyve maintained the familiarity of the first game whilst building on it incredibly. Such a shame because when its working it's so good.
I saw the title of the video and thought "First time?" Personal hang-ups with EA aside, I do agree that this is a pretty shameful release for the game. I wonder if this will lead to discussions of EA losing the license again.
I was really surprised when I heard of the technical issues on other platforms. I play on PS5 and have not experienced any technical issues other than a very occasional frame drop that lasts for a second when entering a big area. I hope they get that stuff fixed soon because the game is so good
This was tested on other Unreal Engine 4 games (Callisto Protocol, etc..) and there seems to be a CPU bottleneck somewhere (either code or hardware). If you use Afterbuyrner Overlay you'll notice it'll be using up to 80% GPU usage even at 4K. At 1080p, CPU usage only goes up to about 66% on a heavily utilized threads. This is technically a port, too (think The Last of US Part I). I have a 5800X3D paired with a RX 7900 XTX, and I haven't played the game yet myself. Doesn't even seem to be related to VRAM, though. The information I've observed is via the Danial Owen channel.
I managed to narrow it down the stuttering to the spector/meltdown windows kernal updates. Soon as I removed them, no more stutter. But I shouldnt really need to open myself to viruses/hackers because I want to play a video game...
I new the game was gonna have issues as soon as I saw an article with an EA spokesperson saying that Jedi Survivor was finished in record time a.k.a EA rushed the game out
@@reeceholmes7903 have you played madden in recent years? They literally lost a bunch of online franchise saves not to mention the ultimate team issues and that's their money maker. Ea is the bane of video game existence. Also fallen order had most if not all these same issues at launch so essentially nothing was fixed in the time between then and now. And some ea spokesperson said jedi survivor was finished in record time (corporate talk for we rushed the game out)
@@tidesquirrel1270 yes I get that but most sports games are all the same anyway and Jedi fallen order and this one are good games and fallen survivor has taken 4 years to release if thats what u call rushing I don’t know what to tell u
I feel like I was lucky. Just beat the game on Series X. I had some massive frame issues only occasionally. Didnt crash one time until after I had completed the story. Unfortunate that others are getting plagued by problems. If you can get past them, its an absolutely wonderful game. But it'd definitely be best to wait until its ironed out.
I'm sick of publishers releasing beta test quality games. The internet has made companies think this is an OK practice, and it's not. If a restaurant took your money and delivered you a plate of half cooked food today, with the promise of a great meal 6 months later, you would be pissed.
I just finished the game on pc, i had some issues but the game was so fun for me i didn't really mind. I have a rtx 2070 card and i played on medium settings. The experience may have been worse for others but i feel i got my money's worth out of the story alone so I'm satisfied
same here, i7 10750 cpu and rtx 2070, FHD. Didn't finish the game yet, but already at chapter 5, part 2. No major issues with this "high end" GPU about 3/4 or so years ago, the opposite of contemporary high end gpu and cpu. My i7 has even worst benchmark than the i5 "recommend" for the game. Pitty so few are having a great experience and all those fellows who just upgraded their machines with rtx 4 series or so and 13th, I believe, gen cpu... Someone or some big companies full of cash seemed to have undermined the game for some platforms, it just don't seem that random... Ofc, the little guy get the consequences. It's an absurd for a company like EA (respawn surely didn't have a word to say in the process for sure), but on the other hand EA has been and absurd itself for some considerable years already. PCs, mostly running microsoft, and XBox, also microsoft, are those performing worst and again, curious, I don't think it's by chance. Hope the majority of all may appreciate the game as he should, but for many it will take a couple+ months to do it properly.
Playing in my laptop and I feel the same here. Sure the fps dips and the game is obviously horribly optimized but it’s still very playable with only one crash. I was confused that people with better setups than mine were calling it “unplayable” and “garbage” but I guess it really is that bad. Odd situation.
The game is this generation's F.E.A.R. Nothing is optomized, bloat is rampant at 140-150GB, and it's just a chunky mess. Meanwhile the original was smooth and just worked. The average person still has a RX 580 at best. Many people are on laptops. And unlike most other games, there's really no way to turn it down without making it a chunky mess (literally messing with the config files in rather harsh ways). Kudos for talking about the elephant in the room.
I spent 2 hours messing around with my PC and got it to run decently well with some stuttering here and there. I’m having a lot of fun with this game, but get a little frustrated when it stutters during platforming or combat.
Only thing to watch is a bunch of tryhard PC wannabe tech wizards complain. While people, who aren't morally superior and too spoiled to play on console, have no major issues.
Outside of non-Pokemon Nintendo exclusives and Naughty Dog games, AAA companies have seemingly given up on making a game actually fucking work at launch. EA, CDPR, Ubisoft, Bethesda, Activision/Blizzard, Bethesda, etc etc. I mean seriously, they delay Jedi Survivor for a month and it's still apparently broken on PC at launch? Imagine how bad it would be if it was never delayed. Tho if they are still getting millions of people to buy a broken game day 1, what incentive do they have to fix them before launch if people will just eat them up?
Honestly thank you for acknowledging that Jedi: Survivor should be a great game. Tired of seeing people call this game bad when it’s actually wonderful, but being held back by it’s optimization and performance issues. Damn shame, doesn’t give the game justice.
The same things were happening with the latest Pokemon games, people seem to forget to look at the good and the bad independently, and when you try to yourself you're called a shill and a fanboy. From what I've heard, this game was well designed, it just sucks that the big wigs are willing to put their names on broken and incomplete products.
I have played and completed on PS5 which is supposedly smooth but I found it was a very mixed bag. I used the performance mode and found that framerate depends heavily on the environment. As you said, the open areas like the Koboh plains could dip to sub 30fps at times but some areas were very smooth (no spoilers). Other areas I think ran somewhere in between at around 40-55fps depending on what was on screen. Overall, it's a really good game, probably not a game of the year contender but spoiled by the performance problems. I really hope this is just optimisation because it would be a shame if this never gets fixed. Makes you think whether the graphics advancements are worth it if we're going to go back to games that chugg all the time (7th Gen nightmares return).
I’m playing the game on PS5 in quality mode, I haven’t had any frame rate issues but have encountered muddy/cloudy textures, occasional crashes, and other minor issues such as audio bugs. It’s an overall good game with technical issues.
This is why I'm still playing "early access" games like Project Zomboid, a title that has been in development for almost 10 years. I'd rather see them work on it for another 10 and end up with the product they want to deliver. I also have the opportunity to participate in the community playing and supporting the game. Developer Indie Stone are incredibly transparent about the the current state of the game and communicative about their process and future goals.
There was 1 level (not saying which one) where you have to pull something down with the force, and it wouldn't render in for me until I rebooted it a couple times
I have the game on ps5 during one of the final boss battles of the main story I had finally managed to kill them , the final cut scene happened and the boss was glitching around everywhere I make my way back to the mantis my game crashes right before i hit the meditation point and i have to do the whole boss battle again. p.s It was a multi stage boss battle on grandmaster so going through multiple health bars was a massive pain i almost cried
It's frustrating that this game has such a performance issue, because I REALLY want to play it. But I really want something that performs like Jedi Fallen Order just as much.
Me personally had a very good experience. I also played it first at Saturday and i got just 2 bugs which never repeated. but i have to that played it on Ps5 and it was/is pretty fluently. I also think, that they launch it to test the game by the audience, to get better feedback. But I think the problem of rushing the game development is a wide spread problem. I like the game and would give the game a 11/10
I think the problem is beating the whole game at the first day. If you expect an AAA game to have no major bugs in LESS THAN THE FIRST WEEK it's probably YOUR fault, im enjoyng it because i don't have an obsession to 100% complete a game the first day
So far I’ve been really enjoying the game. I have noticed some clipping or odd physics in cutscenes, and taking off has really abrupt transition to space, and it’s odd when you don’t move closer to Koboh’s moon then you’re ready to land. I’ve been playing on epic graphics and haven’t seen many issues, except in one part of the lucreholk where I had too turn it down to medium for some reason. Also, my PC isn’t the most high end (rtx 3060 and i7 11th gen)
Looking past the glaring performance issues, jedi survivor has to be the best star wars game ive ever played. The story is super solid, the graphics are gorgeous, and the combat just feels so good. I really wish performance issues werent so common place these days as such a great game is being destroyed by it.
I guess I've got lucky cause for me on PC I've really only seen some minor drops in fps that last a few seconds when loading a new area, but other than that its been pretty good. Hopefully they fix it regardless, cause I want everyone to enjoy this game like I've been for the past few days.
Same, besides the escape scene at the beginning leaving corusant cut seems are fine, game run fines and I only got an i-7 2070 and 32 gb of ram, and everything on extreme. 😅
My GPU is not quite as powerful as their recommended (but way better than their minimum GPU req), but pretty darn close. The rest of my hardware including CPU meets recommended specs. Game crashed on title screen for me for two hours while I tried troubleshooting it. If i was working for those two hours my time would have paid the game off. I had pre-ordered the game but I refunded just on principle. I legit purchased a game that was unplayable.
The issues reported are why I have not gotten Jedi: Survivor yet. I have a lot of bad experiences with new EA releases, to the point that I wait 6-12 months after the game releases before I buy a new EA title so that launch issues are fixed before I even play.
I play on Xbox and for me the game has been somewhat disappointing, I’ve had problems with graphics but the worst problems I’ve had are the inputs and boss fights, for me the input has been incredibly laggy and buggy, and the boss fights so far have been so gimmicky, and that combined with the laggy inputs have made them very frustrating, even when I changed difficulties to try and help. I do hope they fix it soon because I think if they fix these issues it can be one of the best games this year.
I’ve been wondering to myself what feels off about this games combat and you hit it on the head, the parrying, the multi input force abilities, there seems to be some sort of delay, I’ll notice myself perfectly timing a party only for Cal to stand there like a dickhead and take a lightsaber to the face
I’ve only made it probably 4-6 hours into the main story and I feel very fortunate that I’ve experienced only slight lag and one crash. I was pretty nervous about my Xbox being able to run the game after reading a lot of the reviews about sluggish and overall dismal performance, but I’d consider myself one of the lucky ones. Hopes this gets fixed and everyone can enjoy this game! It’s absolutely gorgeous and amazing so far
Running this on a 2070 with settings on high. I get some dips in frame rate from time to time but nothing I would call game breaking. Fallen order had the same issue. Having a ton of fun with this game. Feel bad for anyone having these issues and hopefully they sort it out for you guys soon.
This has such strong echoes of the launch of Battlefront II (2005) I distinctly remember that at launch, a percentage of higher end graphics cards at the time were just unable to run the game at all. It took 4 long months of waiting before a patch was released to be able to play the game on those cards, Unfortunately, People were just as disconnected in forums if it didn't affect them directly then, as people are now on social platforms for this game. Yet despite that, it became of of the most beloved Star Wars games. Here's hoping that a similar outcome will be the same for Jedi Survivor. It is however, frustrating that companies after all this time still insist on pushing out unfinished games for the initial short term gain, and bank on weathering the backlash from fans before issuing a fix, which we would have waited for if they weren't so unrealistic on production timeframes initially.
On PS5 it's been pretty smooth sailing. The only performance problem I've had so far is when fighting in water I saw a serious FPS dip. But it's really just the one spot so far after about 4-5 hours of playing it.
If you consider 720p with less than 60 FPS on a PS5 "smooth sailing" 😂 Like wtf. Games like Horizon Forbidden West look way better, run at 1440p and above with a locked 60 FPS.
Its atrocious on PS5 also. The quality mode runs badly and performance mode makes the game look so much worse while screen tearing still happens. Then in cutscenes the game auto turns off the performance mode and frame dips happen constantly. Other games run much better at high resolutions than this one. Theres no reason a game released on a next gen console cant get 60 fps at 1080p when horizon looks and plays phenomenally in comparison.
@@leospeedleo are they even looking at the ps5 version? I know the pc port is bad because even ea is saying don't buy it. My aubjctove experience on ps5 is that I don't notice any perormance slowdowns except when fighting on or near water where there's extra reflections. Cutscenes work fine. I'm not saying anyone else is wrong and not experiencing problems. I'm saying that I'm not.
Just like with the recent (unfinished) release that is Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, the developers have no incentive to polish their games. Why should they when people are still going to buy the game in droves?
it's like these big companies never seem to learn that they shouldn't release games early. been playing on PS5 and the game runs really bad. motion blur on characters that are barely moving, hair rendering bad, textures not rendering, game fps dropping to unplayable lows during combat in open world areas, weird trails following characters when they move, cosmetics disappearing in menu and reappearing in game.
The issues are still present on console, although they don't seem as bad as they are on PC. Cutscenes have weird lag spikes at the start which makes them feel jagged and out of place. I have had some issues with models disappearing or loading in way later than they should. I even saw Cere's head model completely disappear during an animation, though I won't say where to avoid spoilers. The game really does feel almost finished. Like it needed a couple months of optimization before release.
I hate having games being released with major problems. There was no way they didn't not see this coming. They must've had access to PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles... I'm on PS5 and the frame rate drops are there. Not game changing enough for me as I enjoy the story, but they can creep into the immersion.
So you haven't played the first game then? EA sucks credit should be given where it's deserved. Respawn on its own is better than the larger EA umbrella.
I have had issues with the game locking up and freezing. I get the frame lag skips too, but the most annoying thing is the crashing. I’ll get through a whole part and before I can get back to a spot to save, the game will randomly freeze up during a cinematic, opening up my map, throwing a rock at a creature, etc. then have to redue everything I just did.
To people that say 60 FPS is fine; sure...if it's a consistent 60 FPS. Framerate suddenly being cut in half, constantly, at random, isn't going to feel good.
Have you had any lighting issues? As soon as I got to the open world part of Koboh, the lighting went ballistic in dark areas (like in the rancor cave). The cantina where you’re supposed to meet Greez showed up as one large silhouette. I’ve also been getting the “unexpected error” message that asks if I want to keep playing in a broken state…
The thing is, even with the flaws, even with the performance issues, people will still throw money at EA. And for them, it is better to release a game on a deadline than to release a game when it is really done, so, this will keep happening, as EA really has no respect for any of the players, be them high end specced or not.
@@michaelandreipalon359 Not trying to be a dong, I just don’t get why you guys are so upset about the performance issues, I mean you still get to play the game right ? I guess that makes sense if you guys have been waiting a while for this to come out and the game doesn’t perform well.
This is maybe the best game I have ever played. I don’t understand all of the hate surrounding the release. If you are that pissed that they released it when it runs sub par on PC’s with low processing than wait for patches. I experienced no issues on console. If you are that mad, wait individually, don’t just shout at a dev team who stuck to a release date.
How could anyone play a second after the first game was done so poorly? Every planet you visit 3 times and each time you have a new skill that unlocks a secret passageway or unblocks where you're supposed to go. Over and over
I might be alone here but the game's storyline is lackluster at best. It feels like a bunch of half baked ideas strung together. I had high hopes for this follow up and I found myself bored
I just finished my play through of the game this morning. I personally didn't experience any game-breaking bugs, or any bugs at all for that matter. However, I have an AMD Ryzen 9 5900x and an RTX 3080 FE. I consistently got 40 FPS in all the open world areas and... If I was lucky... 60 FPS in smaller areas. This is in a game where according to the "recommended specs" listed for the game by EA, I should likely be getting a consistent 90+ FPS. With all this said, I pre-ordered the game, and I loved it. Even with all the performance issues, I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. But... I am extremely annoyed with EA for once again doing this shit where they don't tell us about performance issues they know are there and just launch the game anyway, trying to apologize for it after people spend money on it. It seems like it's becoming the norm for AAA titles recently, not just EA. It's incredibly toxic from companies in the industry in my opinion, and this will probably be the last time I will be expecting a working game on release, because I don't have any faith that companies will stop being money hungry and actually make their games work before releasing them to us.
I refused to preorder when it was clear they kept their scedule, only when they delayed the game I thought "Ok, they actually care enough? Surely they threw some more 'manpower' against the problem to keep the time short?". Well they didn't! And I wasn't happy about it either! For me the game keeps crashing, even on "standard no raytracing", something about "access-something", that is rather frustrating! The story itself is good, had they annouced another delay of 3-9 months I would have been ok with it, it's a AAA title and the time frame was really short, that was known and being honest about the production delays and redating to give them more time would have been a better solution then spoiling the experience like this!
Great vid, hopefully they get it fixed sooner rather than later. The fact that they're blaming people who are running mixmatched hardware and Windows 10 is ridiculous. My rig is a 13700k + 4090 + 32Gb 6400 DDR5 + 990Pro m.2 + Win11. Stutters constantly on Koboh and hard crashes on Jedah. Min or Max settings nothing fixes or changes it.
Something ive noticed (when comparing between my friendship group) with a few recently launches is games tend to be running worse on higher end computers during the early days, Im running a 2070 super, ive got 2 friends on a 40 series, and a few on 30 series. With Jedi Survivor we all set our settings to medium and my 2070 super is running at a pretty consistent 50-60, with very few instances dropping below 40 but more of it being above 60. the 40 series friends tend to fluctuate between 30 and 90 FPS which is a huge difference in highs and lows that youll notice in gameplay. The 30 series owners seem to be the best off with an FPS window of about 50-70. Now i know theres a whole host of other things that can impact performance, we dont all have exactly the same components and all that. But its a trend weve noticed in a couple of recent releases (Hogwarts being another) The new GFX cards are capable of some highs, but they also seem to have the most dramatic lows. Really though, both software/game devs, and hardware devs need to just slow down and really tune in the things they are releasing
The PS5 version is not good either. The bugs, crashes, FPS drops, etc. are the worst experiences in gaming I've had in 20 years. And I'm a Cyberpunk 2077 apologist (800+ hours since launch btw) on PC and across both PS5 and XBOX Series X. The game, is amazing. Absolutely amazing, but the technical issues are atrocious and here's the kicker. The game director didn't want to delay the game because of the upcoming competition - such as FFXI, Diablo IV, and Baldur's Gate III. So instead of delaying the game appropriately, they chose to put it out now, and then patch things as needed. It's really depressing because I love this game. Flaws and all. And it's overall story is probably one of the emotional journeys in Star Wars. Plus the bridging of so many eras is a masterclass. Shame I had to learn all this through 15 FPS and stutters, broken UI, and other technical issues...
The bugs did get old, jumping and the character missing items. Fighting, too many times and taking on multiple enemies was a disaster, but worked through it. . overall, it was a fun game, and enjoyed the characters and their journey.
Must be a hardware thing. I’m playing on an MSI laptop and I’m not experiencing any issues whatsoever.
@@Shadowkey392 that is indeed true... this more on the side of not testing the game on different mix of computer hardwares

First english critical video about it i found, tbh they're where many German youtubers who talked about that, that are also in the partner program
Honestly they should have just released it on console first then wait a few months before releasing pc version.

I didn't have too many glitches, but two funny ones I remember were the following (SPOILERS)
.
.
.

This is an issue in general but this is an especially huge issue in Souls like games where timing in combat is so important.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the game, I still noticed a few issues. There were a few times when the game stuttered and had a few crashes, too, but those were the only issues apart from a couple of bugs where I had to restart my save, but I expected these bugs.

I have rtx 2060 and game crashes on medium settings, screen gets stuck.
I’m having a lot of fun with this game, but get a little frustrated when it stutters during platforming or combat.
the thing that bothered me the most was the texture of the cantina door not loading fully, like it's become a running joke for me lol
I've had 1 crash on Xbox Series X and I'm fairly certain it was related to quick resume. I've really been enjoying my time with the game.
I had one crash as well but it was cutscene related, quick resume worked perfectly for me
Watch modders fix the issues and then get sued by EA for doing so.
I’m so mad at myself for buying it on the series x instead of the ps5😭😭😭
This is why I'm still playing "early access" games like Project Zomboid, a title that has been in development for almost 10 years. I'd rather see them work on it for another 10 and end up with the product they want to deliver. I also have the opportunity to participate in the community playing and supporting the game. Developer Indie Stone are incredibly transparent about the the current state of the game and communicative about their process and future goals.
it looks like im playing in 720p with massive ghosting and 30fps with stuttering and i got a $3k computer
I haven't had that many technical issues (controller randomly disconnects) but overall I enjoyed it and the story was insane
I've been having trouble getting the force abilities to work that require two button presses. Have you had similar issues?
Processor, RAM type?
@Aman Sharma i7 10750 with 16g of sodimm. It's an msi gp65 laptop I bought 2, maybe 3, years ago.
@@Lonn715 I was wondering if I should buy it or not. I have desktop with rtx 2060 super ryzen 2700x and 32 GB DDR 4 3000mhz ram.
@Aman Sharma I would guess, worst case you turn things down to medium. 🤷♂️
@@leospeedleo it doesn't play at 720p, I have a 4k display with HDR and I'm running quality mode.
@@NotMyActualName_ it does. Just watch the Digital Foundry video. I trust Professionals more than some random dude.
Been running on q 2070 without frames loss and without glitches and I've loved the game. It's such a step up from the previous game.
it's like these big companies never seem to learn that they shouldn't release games early. been playing on PS5 and the game runs really bad. motion blur on characters that are barely moving, hair rendering bad, textures not rendering, game fps dropping to unplayable lows during combat in open world areas, weird trails following characters when they move, cosmetics disappearing in menu and reappearing in game.
Anyone who thinks that this game was actually going to be great has obviously never heard of EA
So you haven't played the first game then? EA sucks credit should be given where it's deserved. Respawn on its own is better than the larger EA umbrella.
@@teammythos264 i have
Its called Jedi knight outcast from 2002
And it was a way better game
@@teammythos264 EA needs to DIEEEE
For an EA game, I'd say it's pretty good, but it is EA.
@@thomasratigan still not worth it
I have had issues with the game locking up and freezing. I get the frame lag skips too, but the most annoying thing is the crashing. I’ll get through a whole part and before I can get back to a spot to save, the game will randomly freeze up during a cinematic, opening up my map, throwing a rock at a creature, etc. then have to redue everything I just did.
I don't feel betrayed by the developers at all as they had to reach a date as long as they are actually trying to work it out.
To people that say 60 FPS is fine; sure...if it's a consistent 60 FPS. Framerate suddenly being cut in half, constantly, at random, isn't going to feel good.
I've noticed frame rate drops maybe twice on my Xbox series s. I'm loving this game so far. About 14 hours in the game
Have you had any lighting issues? As soon as I got to the open world part of Koboh, the lighting went ballistic in dark areas (like in the rancor cave). The cantina where you’re supposed to meet Greez showed up as one large silhouette. I’ve also been getting the “unexpected error” message that asks if I want to keep playing in a broken state…
@@hazmatt3250 hhm no I haven't gotten any lighting issues or error messages
Maybe if people would stop pre-ordering then companies and publishers would stop releasing half-baked games. It's not rocket science people!
This is what you call classic EA shinnanigans 😂
The thing is, even with the flaws, even with the performance issues, people will still throw money at EA. And for them, it is better to release a game on a deadline than to release a game when it is really done, so, this will keep happening, as EA really has no respect for any of the players, be them high end specced or not.
This is why I play console
Same
@@michaelandreipalon359 Not trying to be a dong, I just don’t get why you guys are so upset about the performance issues, I mean you still get to play the game right ?
Over and over
Sounds like a personal problem to me. Kick rocks and play a different game. Expect disappointment, so you won’t be let down again.
I might be alone here but the game's storyline is lackluster at best. It feels like a bunch of half baked ideas strung together. I had high hopes for this follow up and I found myself bored
I agree with your point, I don’t understand why is EA so greedy now.
Reminds me of that one game called Crisis, but now it's "Can it run Jedi Survivor?"
I’ve felt betrayed since we never got the OG battlefront 3 that was almost completely finished, 1313 and no republic commando 2
EA are getting really good at messing up launches of amazing games.
It's the same thing with Dead Space, so I'm guessing it has to do with EA. It also stutters and experiences frame drops on PC.
