    Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I love books and love shopping for books. I find mine at various thrift stores and library book sales. I just found you and a few other book resellers and decided to join you. Being back in the job market following the retirement of the doctor I worked for is intimidating! Reselling is not my main source of income so I don’t have that pressure. I want to have fun and enjoy meeting/sharing books with other book lovers. I began selling on eBay and just started on Whatnot. I have successfully completed my first show, gained followers and shipped out orders! I even made a new seller friend who joined Whatnot when I did. I’m not sure where this is headed but I choose to enjoy the process even the shipping part. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

      Hello and Welcome to the book community! I love hearing that you completed your first show and found a friend already! The book category on Whatnot is incredible and there are so many amazing people on there. It's great to not have the pressure of doing it full time and I hope the job hunt is successful and you can keep part time doing shows and listing as you please! Thanks so much for sharing 😊

    Hi I’m in the UK, just found one of your videos on UA-cam, very good content and very in-depth keep them going. I have been selling on eBay part time for a while, but lately not really done much and sales are really down, so I was thinking of moving into selling books and go full time, just need to push myself into sourcing books and getting them listed your enthusiasm is great and if I can capture some of that hopefully I can improve.

      Hey! Welcome and thanks so much for your kind words! I always like to remind people that ebay naturally slows down from May to September and tends to be busier outside of those months so keep that in mind, summer slow down is real. I think steady sourcing is a great first step towards going more full time with it and UK has Whatnot if you ever want to try that out as another option to move inventory. Thanks for watching and can't wait to share more!

    My name is Cindy and my husband and I live in Dewey, Arizona. I just found you today, as UA-cam suggested your video to watch. I really enjoyed this video, thank you! I was a huge book seller on Amazon FBA back in 2014/2015. I did very well, but gave it up as my husband and I were so busy with other things, we just didn't have the time to be sellers any longer. Of all of the things I sold on Amazon, books BY FAR were my all time favorite. I truly miss it! Every time I drive by a thrift store, my heartbeat increases, as I just remember how much I truly loved spending time in thrift stores and libraries, sourcing books. I had been thinking about getting back into it, but not selling on Amazon any longer, but moving over to eBay. I had heard of about WhatNot, but do not know anything about it. I'm very excited for all that you shared, and I look forward to your video next week, to learn more. In the mean time, I am going to be doing my own research about this platform, and learn more that way too. Thank you again! Look forward to following more of your journey.

      Hey Cindy! So nice to meet you and thanks for sharing your story! I can only imagine how much you miss selling, it is so fun sourcing too so I bet that's been tough to let go of. I think a little bit of a part time re entry would make it like a fun past time or hobby that you could really enjoy again! It's good to do things we love and you already have the knowledge so you definitely should consider dipping your toes again. Ebay is still a solid platform and Whatnot is growing. It is just a little different with the live approach, but the marketplace is always an option for those that don't love the live option. You will love next week's video bc my goal is to help people on the fence about Whatnot, better understand what it takes and if that sounds reasonable then you should do it! It's so much fun, thanks so much for watching!

    A dedicated permanent photo station is a good idea. Removing what one can see as an obstacle to completing a task is a successful and smart business solution. Theres some part time ebayers making good money

    • @resellmaven
      @resellmaven  День тому

      I agree! It really would be removing an obstacle to make it easier. I actually did my monthpy budget last night and was shocked at how much I made on ebay with not listing in over month and just under 100 items total. I think I'm a small ebay store girly, would like to get to about 250 items listed though

    I am starting a hobby business reselling Lego, but my wife has been selling on EBay for the last few years. That was a helpful tidbit about the marketplace on Whatnot, didn’t know they had that option for selling. Good luck!

      @resellmaven  2 дні тому

      Thanks so much! Legos are a great business with consistently high demand! There are a lot of avenues for lego buyers, Whatnot is a great one, definitely check out their marketplace option!

    Been reselling for a long time, more of a hobby now than a business- just don’t have the time. I have about 1,000 followers and 400 sales on whatnot. I stream once a month or so :)

    How do you organize your shelves? Alphabetically or by genre? Just wanted to let you know that you're giving out absolute gems! You took so much time to answer one of my questions on another video yesterday and just know that I appreciate you so much!

    • @resellmaven
      @resellmaven  2 дні тому

      Thank you so much for the feedback and I am so glad to hear you're enjoying the videos and I was able to answer one of your questions more in depth! I am always trying to dish out valuable content. As far as organizing the shelves it is definitely not alphabetical, and I strongly discourage that method bc it is a time suck and overall not as helpful for the buyers, in my opinion. I do organize by genre in the adult section but in most categories it is by age range. For example I have an adult shelf, Young Adult, Storybooks, board books, kids chapter books, picture books, non fiction etc. I try to do chapter items somewhat in a color coordinated pattern for the aesthetic but adult I do have, thriller, general fiction/romance and then non fiction/sci fi/biography

    • @theANNAmaul
      @theANNAmaul 2 дні тому

      Love your logic when it comes to alphabetical storage - I'm just starting out and I have all genres of books and was a bit panicked thinking I might have to alphabetize them! One other question for you and how you run your shows - what is your reasoning behind bundling vs doing a standard auction for each book?

    • @resellmaven
      @resellmaven  2 дні тому

      Yes, stay away from alphabetical lol it's not worth it when you have a manageable amount. There are two reasons why I do bundles the first is a financial reason, every individual item that sells on the platform whether it is a single book on auction or a large bundle of books it's a 30 cent flat fee per transaction. So when you bundle, you can sell multiple books for one flat rate fee rather than a bunch of individual items at $.30 each auction.
      The second reason I bundle is because I do a lot of bulk selling and I don't have just a handful of super high-end quality books that are going to be desirable to run on auction every time, so I specialize more in volume

      @resellmaven that makes so much sense - I appreciate your advice! Can't wait til the next video and I hope you have a wonderful 4th!

    No offense but you wasted so much time talking in circles. I can tell you’re very successful on whatnot and I’d love to hear more about the numbers. What’s your ROI average on most books? What books do well for you on the platform? Are you strictly auctions or do you do buy it now? How many hours are you working weekly? I left with more questions than answers after this video.

    • @resellmaven
      @resellmaven  День тому

      I'm glad you have more questions and I would love to go into those details more! I am just getting back into UA-cam and I'm cuttrently only able to make 1 video a week at the moment so stick around and I can definitely go more I'm depth on numbers as you mentioned.
