It's canned buckwheat with beef, chicken or pork. Nothing you can get in Germany, but there is a small Russian shop near me where i get this. They also have the tastiest dark rye bread. Not a fan of the other stuff you can get there, like garlic infused pork belly or strange preprocessed and smoked cheese or dried fish.

Wow, that's a substantial MRE. Looks like it's one of the most filling and highest in calorie MRE's that I can remember you trying. I wonder why they give you such a large container of the sweetened condensed milk? You surely couldn't use that in just one cup of joe. You definitely won't be hungry after finishing that MRE! Great video, looks like a beautiful location, enjoy your trip, and God bless.
Darryl, I've been told that many troops put the sweetened condensed milk on crackers and anything else. Some folks have even said they eat it right out of a spoon, plain. TFW, as always.
Eastern European rations tend to be more sweet and meat based, and the Portuguese, Spanish, French and Italian more varied with more fish and other sources of protein, but now a funny thing is happening, because, with the EU, field rations are influencing mutually like in other areas, and I think having Portuguese Tomato Sardines and a nice German beef in a battle ration is beautiful - story of my life, my bloodlines are Portuguese/German.
