The thing I love about this song is that it isn't like other final boss themes, all moody and desperate. The people who wrote this know what it means. Yami's forces are in ruin. You've struck down his demons one by one, cutting a path north to him. His attempts to delay you have only made you stronger, and now you face him in your full power, with the prayers of all the land's people giving you divine strength. For all of this abomination's power, he can no more stand against you than the night can stand against the dawn. The god of all evil, waiting to die. That's what a final boss is.
Took the words straight out of my mouth you have. The battle with Yami was exhilarating, unlike most generic AAA title's final bosses, for exactly this reason.
WHat makes the game so beautiful in my opinion is you restore nature in EPIC cutscenes, which gave me chills back my spine or tears in my eyes, they're ravishingly beautiful.
This song is just the spitting image of reprisal. I can see this playing during any scene in a game where all hope is lost, your almost out of items, Low on HP, your friends are dead, but there is that one item/ability/move that that secures you for your final stand, it's all or nothing...

huh this just got recommended to me, probably after more than a decade since I listened to it. Might as well drop a little fun fact since I'm here: one of the composers who worked on the soundtrack is Rei Kondoh (not sure about this specific song, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did). He has also composed some banger songs on Fire Emblem Fates and Three Houses, which led me to look him up and connect the dots. In particular the FE Fates map themes for Hoshido reminded me of Okami, which makes a lot of sense now

Dear Okami, you know a piece of music is monumental when it's played in THREE games, and is always one of--if not THE best--pieces of music in the game!
The entire fight with Yami was so much fun. For the first part you beat your abilities one by one out of a weaponized tron sphere and use them on him in crazy creative ways as he transforms into all sorts of crazy forms. And then the second part has this music.
This game honestly is by far one of the best I have ever played even among future games. The music makes your heart just swell with the emotion the music tries to convey and the graphics just simply beautiful I mean when I saw Shiranui the first time in all her glory I was like wow. Okami will always have a place in my heart
This game was perfect. The awesome storyline, the unique gameplay, the grand world arround you, the great music, the Artistic graphics... Makes me wish I could go back in time and stop clover studios from dissolving their company.

Truely awesome. Best theme in the game hands down. I recently finished Okami and well I just can't it go. The ending and music alike was just wow. I really hope a sequel is made. I want more Okami dammit!
final boss songs always aim for pressured orchestra and tension. this music is so tender and fierce that its probably one of the best final boss songs ive heard
This is one of my favourite songs by far, I think Kushi's Ride is my absolute favourite, and Reset - and Lechku and Nechku's theme... okay, like everything? This is a fantastic ending battle theme, taking the main theme and making it moving and epic. This track makes you feel something a lot of other final boss themes fail to do: it gives you hope, and knowledge that the whole world is behind you. PS: Totally different thought, but I can totally see Amaterasu being in Super Smash Bros.

At first I didn't think I could beat Yami. It was hard. But then this music played. It filled me with the strength and courage I needed to win, and so I did.
I think everyone can see a reflection in themselves when they see Ammy. She kinda gives me a sence of accomplishment and success. When you hear this song, you should think about how her beauty and power means nothing without a pure heart.

Haha yeah! Check them out, one for the DS called Spirit Tracks comes out sometime early December this year. And there's one for the Wii that there's not too much information on yet, but that should come out in a year or two. I'll keep you posted with new info if you want :)
Oh, how I love this song. I love this song so mutch that I am using this as the super mode theme in a game of darkness and light. With a very dark story. So this theme is there for the power and for the light.

I was recently replaying Okami, and my older sister (who plans on majoring in art and music) was watching. I was in the final area, fighting the final boss of the game(not going to say who it is, so as to not spoil the plot for others) and she said:"Could you save and quit right now and turn on Netflix? This game is just painful to watch." My sister has said many things that make no sense at all, but this one takes the cake.
In all these tales, there is no record of a decisive victor. Has no one emerged victorious? Or was the event simply not recorded? As the darkness tries to cover all, forget not the warmth of purifying light. Prayer is power. Power is prayer.

At it's core it feels like a Zelda game but through playing you'll soon realize that it has so much more to offer in terms of : story, combat, artistic direction, length, scope of world map, and the overall feeling of this being an epic adventure.
Õkamiden was great due to the fact that you directly drew on the screen, unlike Õkami, where using the Wiimote would often glitch and screw up your drawing. Having a third game in the Õkami series would be awesome, and the Wii U would be the best system for it (hell, even the 3DS's graphic capabilities would be great for it)
