As I couldn't get this beautiful soundtrack off my head, I decided to capture it along with the most memorable moment from the epic game Okami in the best quality possible.

In the story of Amaterasu, they said Amaterasu hid herself behind a giant boulder after she got emotional and depressed thanks to the deeds of her younger brother.
Begging and crying for Amaterasu to leave did not coax her out. But when people started celebrating her, using happiness and cheer to coax her out, they put a mirror before the cave and let her witness her reflection.
For once, she saw her own light and brilliant radiance.
Yami is the Boulder, Issun is the Mirror, the Common Folk you helped that many living beings that had a better life thanks to Amaterasu's sun. And of course, Amaterasu, is our good girl Ammy.
You forgot the part where a minor goddess started stripping.
you just look up "okami scene" and this comes up. Because we ALL know this is THE scene.

This game really reinforces and rewards you for getting invested in everything you do. I loved helping all the villagers and animals in the world and I felt weirdly protective and attached to them all despite it being a video game. When I got to this point in the story I just broke down-it gave all the hours I poured into the game so much more meaning. There’d be times when I’d just say aloud “god the people who worked on this game put so much love into it” or “god I love this game.” It feels like a celebration of the time you’ve put in, the developers hard work and the themes of friendship/helping where you can.
True. They put their souls into this game ☀
In my humble opinion, this game should be on the top 5 list of every PS2 user... This game marked my life.

Okay.....how the FUCK did this game not get the love,adoration and respect it deserved at the time? I actually discovered this game for the first time at a flea market for the wii,when I had one at the time,And when I played it....It became one of my favorite games instantly
Because twilight princess fucking sucks unfortunately and steals credit every time

Pure Art, more than just a game.
For my money, this is the greatest video game cutscene ever.
Reid Allen for sure. I got this on Wii and my first time through this I was an emotional mess at the end. The song (Reset (thank you version)) encapsulates the moment. Is bittersweet. The sadness of Ammy losing her powers and the the people.she helped and met realizing who the wolf was and praying for her. It culinates into the epic music build up and then gushes the raw emotion. This game is more than a game. It is a literal artwork. Similar to this video the music lined up to hit it's climax just as amaterasu was getting her powers back. Selling the emotion. I literally.cannot rave enough about this game. The story, art and music go hand n hand. Despite it being dated the game is being ported for modern systems and has been breathed new life that it deserved at launch. 100% the most under rated game that is getting the love it needs.
This is the best ending I have ever seen in a videogame. All the people you helped during your adventures help you in return, which makes the defeat of the final boss so much more meaningful, since it's because of your time and effort that was actually possible.

Honestly we need more background videogame characters that you help in their videogames help the main protagonist in return for helping them to defeat the main antagonist instead of being useless cowards.

at the beggining of the playthrough i didn't expect okami to put me to tears but damn it did right here
I get this is supposed to be all serious and stuff but the line “uh oh the boss is praying” always gets me
I played this game for the first time one year ago and it makes me feel nostalgic for a reason, I can't imagine if I had play it in the ps2 era...

I can't believe I'm still crying after all these years. 'Reset' is such a powerful OST in this scene, my eyes just starts watering!

While I can't bare the departure of so many memorable characters, it is somewhat satisfying to see a proper conclusion once in a while. I shall cherish Okami for many years to come.
I bought Okami on coincidence in 2006 for the PS2. Im so glad that i have the chance to experience such a masterpiece of a game. I also bought if for PC, PS3 and now PS4.
This is why Okami AND Twilight Princess go hand in hand as my favorite games of forever! THIS, THIS RIGHT HERE! What me? No, I'm not crying... I just... Oh, alright, I'm crying! IT IS JUST SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!

the OST of this sequence really brings it all together, from very sad and emotional to hopeful, from issun's pep talk, to a holy piece of music upon transforming into shiranui, and the as soon as she howl, it's not yami's theme that plays for the battle, but YOUR theme

So, I've finished this game a few times, but the last few days, I'd been playing it on Steam. I came to this scene... and was smiling ear to ear and shedding tears of joy.
Okami was and still is my favourite game ever

It took me years to really grasp how perfect this scene is thematically, and why it was the first time a game made me cry as a kid. It’s all about Issun’s line “we shouldn’t pray only when we want something”.
The whole game you work towards restoring your godhood by earning praise for good deeds that most people don’t even recognize as your doing. And your ultimate reward is that when everyone finds out what you really are, they aren’t praying to you, but FOR you. Not just for the sun to come back, but for the safety and well-being of someone who positively impacted their lives, someone they know the whole world would be lesser without.
THAT is the true mark of godhood. Not power, not recognition, not fear, but gratitude .
There used to be an Okami music video that had clips from the cutscenes of this last fight, and it was a kind of rock sounding song. Like pop rock, I guess. And for the life of me, I cannot remember what the song was.

they string together the best tracks in this clip; has anyone narrowed down what the titles are? Spotify has "full albums" but i go through every single track and cant find it
The main track for the cutscene (starting at 2:00) is titled "Reset", and the bit at the very end (starting at 10:12) is the opening of "Rising Sun" or "The Sun Rises" (I'm not sure which of those titles is the correct one, but they refer to the same piece). Between them comes "Okami Shiranui". Not sure what the titles are for the aborted victory howl or the bit where Yami is waving Amaterasu around, but there's a fragment of "Emperor of Eternal Darkness" when Yami reveals his final form.
Honestly other videogames need more videogame background characters who help the main protagonist in return for helping them instead of being useless cowards and don't do anything to help.

The only thing about okami thar didnt liked me was that... every wolf or dog or people of the oina tribe was a LOT bigger than you. Even oki. Or shiranui from 100 years in the past. Every single beast was bigger... that was sad. It was like... I'm a freaking GOD for heaven's sake!!!
Priscila F Pereira A well you aren’t really believed in as a god until this point. Issun became seventh celestial envoy and with that revived faith in Ammy. Ammy being smaller than in her prime makes sense.

I think it's because she is weaker from the lack of faith. So if you think of her as a metaphorical "stunted" version of her original form then might be smaller because of it.
She reincarnated from a statue remember ? You gotta complain to the Kamiki villagers for building such a little statue ^^ And I liked it personally, it was like a very strong and powerful being hid in a small wolf.
Shy Dreameress Don't forget too that japanese wolves were smaller than european and american wolves.But size doesn't really matter.A god's force is not influenced by it's size.

I’m gonna make games like this! My ideas so far is:
Velly: the fox of port prisma and paper Velly!
Music is kinda out of synch.
Bad decision on the developers part to trap players on Oni Island and if you miss a crucial technique you're stuck there and cannot finish the game, or have to backtrack 4 hours.
Ending was not good compared to KH.
Darkhellhound gaming Matter of opinion, KH didn't make me cry, but this one did. Plus you learn all needed techniques before you get on or you are on oni island.
No you can skip the master digging technique or whatever its called, which you need to get a lightning technique to finish a puzzle facts dude look it up. Plus I don't give a fick!
