"Because good shit, just good shit!" I've never had the honor of training with Ryan but I can tell you that Chad is amazing and has improved my teaching and put me in a whole new level when it comes to defensive tactics
oh my god the best thing I ever heard. That wide forearm block to slow down the hand and the two on one catch of the stabbing arm way up by the shoulder is the prettiest thing I ever saw an old bald guy do. Ryans shoot was so quick I had three or four replays and still did not catch it, excellent for ryan great hand speed. I like that slow old forearm catches forearm slow block and the upper arm grab. THEN THE BEST PART get the strong angle and get behind that knife. the transition to behind the knife is a wonderful idea. If he dropw the knife or I take it away I am not self defending anymore If the knife is in his hand and he gets stabbed struggling to stab me I look better in front of the judge.Great video thanks.
At 1:53 what if he switches hands?? You controll the arm great!! Grest position. That arm is stuck. But the other hand can easily grab. Can strike pretty hard as well!! People will switch hands instinctively..
Exactly my thoughts. I've done bladed martial arts for 20+ years. Not many instructors will switch hands. It's just the fact. On the street, switching hands is instinctive. When you bring that to your knife defense it completely changes things.
Some experimental thought to consider. Maybe to avoid vital organ exposure it is better to turn to the side, stepping back to avoid lunges, and turning to keep a side shield. Maybe the best opportunity to get the jump is at the point of them bringing back the knife.Maybe also you could use carefully placed counter kicks to keep the distance. Legs are longer than arms. Fencing tends to use this style.
Sorry for late reply. It just simply means getting out of the centre line, in other words move away from point of the knife when it's thrusting towards you
@@itsmeseventy7480 Thanks for clarifying! Whenever I watch the judo, jiu-jitsu, wrestling grappling practicioners they always rotate their centerlines when attacked. The skillful boxers and striking arts people rotate off trajectory alignment of incoming linear striking motions as well!!!
Can we see these skills in a live contest ? A contest is the best Pressure Test. You don't have to talk theory. Just have a live match where the attack is unpredictable and with full speed & full force. That is what we do here. Watch my videos. Our system is based off a Boxing Platform.
We’re gonna show you some knife defense. Okay now Ryan so here is this extremely specific situation let me make everybody think I’m very knowledgeable when I’m actually a phony
Stop making these videos really these videos are going to get someone killed you see a knife RUN LEAVE THE SITUATION ESPECIALLY IF THIS PERSON KNOWS HOW TO USE ONE DEF RUN you can be as tough and skilled as you want a knife box blade shit worst a karambit slices you good you will go into Shock in a few seconds. Does that technique work in the dark, knife fighters carry more than one knife. ..???
@@lwmaynard5180 that's why you strike the guy once you get two on one bro..
0:24 Intercept 1:24 Control, Angle
2:40 Intercept, Control, Angle 3:10 2 on 1
Thankyou gentlemen.
Just love the knife defense stuff....can not see too much of it....all thanks. :>
Three rules in a knife-fight:
1) Run
2) Fly
3) Equalize
The two top rules are to beat your feet!

Great video.
Nice self defence techniques looks quality
if bjj works against a knife , why were the challengers in the gracie challenges not allowed
to bring a knife to the challenge?
I like it, good stuff sirs
the technique as focus is not a good approach. However The technique the first man showed us is easy to implement, compared the the second technique.
good shit
I'm trying to understand what the instructor means by being on an angle or not being on an angle?
Your hips have to be facing the opponent while the opponent’s hips have to not be facing you.
