    FAQ:
    Who is this lady?
Gina Petitti was born in 1935 in Faeto, Italy. It is in the province of Foggia in the Puglia region of southeast Italy. Her family ran a farm in Italy and she met her husband, Vito, in the same town. In 1970 Gina, Vito, and her 4 children immigrated to America. Gina’s husband passed away in 2012, but she is surrounded by a large family, which includes 9 grandchildren, and lives 5 minutes away from her eldest daughter in New Jersey. Gina enjoys making food for her family in the same old fashion ways as she was taught by her mother and grandmother in Italy, and also new things she has subsequently learned from family and friends in America. She also enjoys gardening, and being an active member of her local Church.
Where does Gina get her recipes?
Most of these recipes are from what she learned growing up in Italy, but some of them have evolved over time. She has also learned new recipes from friends and family in America. She is always eager to try new things.
Why is no one helping her in the video?
Grandma Gina doesn’t want help! Usually, it’s because we will slow her down or not do it “her way.” For the videos we only show her, but when the camera cuts we jump in and help form the cookies or prep for the next step.
Why don’t we buy her a new...?
Grandma Gina has a closet and garage full of new gadgets, spoons, forks, pots, etc… but she doesn’t like them because she is used to doing it with her old tools. She has fun getting her hands dirty!
Who is behind the camera and behind the scenes?
Grandma Gina’s retired son-in-law, Nick, does the filming, editing, production, and channel management. Her daughter, Maria, helps with food preparation, kitchen setup and fan support. Also, Grandma Gina usually has one or two grand-kids in the kitchen to help.
    Does Gina read the comments?
We print out and show her how much love she gets from all her viewers, and she is very thankful and hopes you enjoy her cooking! Your comments bring her lots of joy, laughter, and inspiration to make more videos to share with you.
Thank you for watching, we hope you subscribe, and we will see you in our next video!

Oh my Dear Gina, my mother used to make something very similar (I’m 79). She used different spices in them, but no matter. No one ever knew what I was talking about, and I could not explain. Her recipe was lost. I used to watch her make the dough, roll, cut, and use the fork after cutting. Then she would fry them. She pronounced “Cannaricol”. Through the years I’ve searched for a recipe to no avail, today, I was blessed to tune in and see what you were cooking. My mother also used a syrup. I’m so happy, I have tears in my eyes; they are tears of joy. Thank you and God Bless you.

When my grandfather came from Arcella to NYC and then to Canada he met my grandmother on the train. They fell in love and married. She made these for us. Problem was she was coming from Scotland and didn't speak Italian. He didn't speak English. They had a big family and a long happy life. So maybe the language barrier was actually their "secret spice". ;>} Thank you so much for your videos!

My mother called them struvolli. We didnt shape them with a fork. We just cut them small and added more honey so they were sticky. At Christmas time we'd shape them into a wreath and shake sprinkles over the top.
    They are delicious!👌❤

Wonderful video. I cherish all of Gina's recipes. My favorite parts are always when she sings. Back in the 70s, growing up we had a local pizza place owned by an Italian family who was well loved in our area. I remeber as a kid hearing their Nonna singing in the kitchen while making pizza. Those memories are ingrained in my mind as well as the amazing scents and to-die-for food coming from that little place. Gina, you take me back there all the time. Much love ❤️ to you and your family from Florida.

My grandmother many years ago made a treat very similar to this recipe, she came from Lipari one of Italy's Aeolian islands...the treat was called Gigi. My other grandmother came from Foggia San Marco in Lamis an area where I think Nonna Gina came from. Pity many of my grandmothers' recipes were never written down :(

Grandma Gina, I grew up in a Dutch neighborhood where there were lots of wonderful Grandmas teaching the girls how to cook the Dutch recipes. However, there weren't any Italian Grandmas and so you have been my patient teacher for all those wonderful dishes that I love but never could make as good as the restaurants. God Bless and Thank you for the many wonderful meals you have taught the world. P.S. Keep Singing!

Hello Gina and family!!!❤ I was so happy to check my notifications and see you had another video out!!😁 My mother used to make those, too but she rolled into little balls...fried them...coated with honey mixture and sprinkled a little bit of nonpareils on them. She especially made for the holidays. She also made Bow Ties and dusted them with powdered sugar.
I hope your children and grandchildren realize how lucky they are to have this library of videos to help them keep traditions going!❤ I wish I had my mom on video like this. How cool would that be? I always tell my 25 yr old son to watch your videos. It's the closest to watching his own grandma cooking. You and my mom look/cook so similarly it's scary! 😁 Everyone I send your videos to says the same thing..."OMG...she looks so much like your mother!".
Once again, thanks for making me so happy watching you cook!!! After all...if I wanna eat, I gotta cook!!!

I can just taste them in my mind and the crispiness of them!!! 😋 I hope Gina makes them, too. Just about everything she makes is like my mother's!!! She comes from the same are as my mother's father (Foggia) so, maybe she can hook us up with that recipe? 😋🙏🙏 If my sister has my mother's recipe, I will def send to you!!
