How I made this nine-foot-long bookmatched walnut and epoxy dining table for a client out of state. I've made a lot of epoxy tables now, but this was only my second bookmatched dining table. I give a couple tips in here that I have not included in a video previously. So I hope you can get something out of this video, even if you have seen other ones already!

Instead of neither, I say "both" -- it totally depends on the wood, the project, the final place it will occupy. Honoring wood (best way I could express it) and elevating it to its "best life" is an artform and everything is subjective. Love the care and thoughtfulness you give to the entire process.

Galen, it appears our very talented channel host is in his "bullet proof" years? At 70some I recall those years, and always encourage younger guys, especially those who're in great shape- to be careful, but being bullet proof? Its usually noise to deaf ears, until like so many of us we find the weak point in our body. Then we're 'old guys'!! Hope Cam can have 'ears to hear'- hate to see another young man learn the way we did! On the other hand "true learning only comes through pain!"

Cam, I love your work, Bookmatched (for me) adds clarity to the natural form, where slab is nature in it’s purest form!! BTW I have 5 planks of cherry that was harvested in the 1850’s (seriously) and the widest one is 18 inches with growth rings almost parallel to the face and every inch of the boards is blood red. My wife wants a dining table made from them.

Bookmatch. This is one beautiful table. I like how the two slabs interact, like a mirrored landscape. The black resin in the middle looks like a mysterious lake.

Book matched. I know this video is a year old but I love all of your work so I’m trying to watch all of your videos! I can’t decide which I love more-your dry sense of humor or your woodworking skills…

Man, your job is so perfect! I love this table!
recently i have noticed that it is very easy to leave a mark on the epoxy with odie's oil applied. Could anyone tell me if rubiomonocoat protects resin more than odie's?

Odie’s is not a good finish. Rubio is much better.

Why is it not a good finish?!!!

@@djinjis That decision, along with pretty much every other piece of the build/design, is made by the customer. That's how custom $5k - $10k tables are designed. You would know this if you watched the video and/or if you weren't a poor.

@@jeansdelajeans3937 behave yourself, boy. This is my opinion and I don't give a fck about your clients. They can only make choices between what you offer and most of them, are not educated enough to have the best choice. This legs work also, btw.

Book Matched. the symmetry tickles my brain. If I ever have the extra cash I would definitely get one of your tables. Everyone needs a table, why not create something unique and fun?

Book matched looks so nice and its very pleasing to the eye, especially for my OCD. You make this entire process look easy, which I'm sure is not. Just beautiful work.
