This is a legally binding obligation that is enforced by nothing and no one.
ok I got something for you to investigate. on maps like nuke and vertigo...I feel like halfway through the round, footsteps get severely muffled and quiet when opponents are on different levels. am I the only one who experiences this?
top tier cs2 content, subbed
You forgot 1 important thing... your MM teammates do not have sound enabled.
what ? why ?
I am constantly calling sound queues over voice comms because my teammates apparently can't heqr
@@snoopunitI don’t know if it was mentioned in the vid but I heard a pro player once claim that sounds are louder for you if you’re spectating while dead. So you might hear stuff that the person you’re speccing literally can’t hear themselves.
@@snoopunitI do that too like a disability support
@@snoopunit lol I see 😂
For like a month earlier this year, grenades would make a super audible "squish" noise when they damaged someone but they reverted that change pretty quickly afterwards. People still think they make that noise but as shown in the video, it's not very distinguishable anymore.
This! was going to comment this if i didn't find it here :)
haha that's why i can't hear them anymore lol f*cking valve
oooh exactly i remember throwing one from A Site into Palace as a CT and it making that loud noise thus letting me know there was one in Palace. thanks for informing me
I'm pretty sure it still makes the extra sound if you don't have armor or only take one damage. You can hear it in the 'covering the sound of a defuse' section, when the spectator gets struck by a flash(because getting hit with a nade does one damage).
@@jbc5099correct, if the detonation of the made does 1 dmg it will make that squishy sound, it does not have to hit it directly
A compact summary of everything everyone always wanted to know about sound but never wanted to test. Thanks man!
Winnie!!! You’re the goat. Thank you brother!:)
- The rhythmic bomb beep when it's dropped can only be heard by the T's.
- Although the incendiary doesn't make a noise when unpinned unlike the molotov, both grenades are the only ones to make noise during their flight, and if you have good ears you can tell exactly where they were thrown from.
- The HE _only_ makes noise when hitting enemies without armor OR if it hits for only 1 dmg.
- The XM, Nova & Sawed off used to not have reload sounds in GO. Idk if it's still the case in CS2.
The only nade damage I can ever distinctively hear is when I get hit by a nade for 1-2 damage with armor… it makes a gush sound
i think this happens whenever you take health damage, but no armor damage due to the hit not dealing enough damage or the target straight up not having armor. This might be the general rule to the different sounds but idk
@@Freeeze_ that’s honestly a great theory and probably the actual reason lmao
if you direct hit someone with any nade theres a distinct sound
Comprehensive af. Well done mate.
Thanks brother:)
he cant keep getting away with making so many BANGERS
😭😭
relax he only threw like 3 flashbangs the whole video.
Awesome stuff as always! That didn't feel like 15 minutes at all, some really good information. Keep crushing it! :)
Cs2tactics! Thank you brother, I appreciate that
Useful information! Thanks for doing the leg work and testing these things to provide us all with knowledge we can use to detect our opponents more readily and mask our own actions in-game. I'm pretty sure we've all asked ourselves at least one of these questions and you've delivered answers for them!
(also fun to see guinea pig Nevet hopping around and tossing nades in your face)
Thank you Shelton! I was wondering about the answers to a lot of stuff in this video so it was super fun to test out for me
i like the way you make the videos. straight to the point on what matters
best cs2 videos on youtube
after this I won't be called out woth playing without headphones again 😂
3:26 guns start making that rattling sound because of tracer rounds. Common military practice to use them in the end of the magazine so you know you are about to go dry.
wow I did not know that was a real thing. Very cool!
Tracer round also creates bullet tracer but cs2 has no relation between them
though i cannot hear the nade hitting unarmored players in your game, i can recall hearing the sound of hitting an unarmored player with a nade. its possible that was in the early versions of cs2 and was later removed because i dont remember hearing it since launch
As far as i can tell. The audio ring is based on any sound made locally. Its a client action. thats why the bolt and some other things that are silent to the enemy team have rings on the map but can't be heard. It seems to be tied to volume produced and not specific actions, as best as i can tell without looking directly at the code.
Bro is descebding down the ropz path, learning every detail. NA star in the making, mark my words
silent peek is not about velocity. its about meters you go without shifting. after a certain amount of distance (without shift) it will make footsteps
2:08 is a holdover from 1.6. In that game knifing walls was absurdly loud.
Very nuanced details in this video - good job highlighting all these sound queues and squashing some of the myths about sound that arent true. Thanks big dog!
Thank you Tony!
babe wake up another amazing Wilsy CS2 video
didnt expect to learn so many new things from this video ❤️
You can see if you hit the enemy with a nade on the scoreboard "ud" utility damage
IMO it doesn't make sense to make certain sounds inaudible to the enemy, switching guns, grenade pins etc. It should all be consistent, it would make players a lot more attentive as they would be punished for bad habits (flicking through guns and util unnecessarily).
Eff you. Leave my adhd alone
the grenades making sound part. i think they only make a sound if the grenade did 1hp of damage, regardless of armor or not. it will make a squishy blood sound that anyone can hear.
the nade sound only happens if the opponent is unarmored or only takes 1 damage
i recall he sound cue when hitting an enemy was super obvious in early cs2 and they changed/removed it
The sound myth of an HE hitting somebody is probably still around from 1.6 since there was a sound when hitting anyone.
The CS channel. You deserve a million of subscribers.
Thanks man:)
Awesome video! Genuinely learned a lot.😊
Thanks cactus boy:)
another heater from mr. wilsoncs2
Get this man to 100k already
amazing video dude ! must have put alot of work into it
Thank you brother!:)
Great video, thank you
Very useful! Thanks homes
Thank you!
weird thing with the HE. The only way you'll hear a hit with it, is if it tags the person for 1hp with armor.
epic gamer tips thank you wilson
Wait what? I'm sure there is a flesh sound when a grande hits an enemy 😂 what a great video
12:30 it was a thing in early cs2, but they fixed it a few months ago.
Great video!!
Thank you!
Was a really nice video
What masks footsteps? Example, a lurker is behind the whole team as an execute is happening. The lurker should be able to take a few steps when nades are thrown and gunshots are fired.
Finally my questions have been answered
they're use to be a sound nor nades hitting people when it blew up 100%, it use to make a squishy meaty sound i would always use a nade to try and get some info.
nice video. thx
I love doing sounds to fake out the opponent. I was kind of curious as to what exact sound would be made when you drop a gun down vents. Like, if you dropped an awp, would that make similar noise? I'll probably be testing these things out.
Also when the nade explodes when no one was there, the nade had more of an echo to it, where it seemed like you could tell that it hit only air. Unmuffled, kind of. But, I've never been able to definitively know, as I am playing a match. I would not want to relay info that I am not sure about
Lastly, on the glass in control room. This is just an OCD thing of mine, that some people might not think about, but I always get in there via secret or ramp, and then from control room, I shoot with a suppressed m4 toward the very dark part of what's in front of me. I mean, some people knife the other way, but I figure that makes more noise, and no one will see bullet holes in that dark spot a little off the map.
14:09 i was hoping to see a comparison between b site glass and under heaven glass. same with squeaky and single door from b site.
also same thing happens to me with nade dmg. cant really tell sometimes.
Hey You, you are finally awaken. Wilson dropped another vid (by the can enemy hear if we pick up smoke, flash from the ground or maybe they can't hear if we were walking while picking up? not sure)
Whats weird is the inspect on the dualies shows a ring around your dot on the radar :D
i think the nade damage sound was only audible when the nade made 1 damage or something but i also dont remember hearing it in a long time so maybe they fixed it?
With frags I always operated under the idea that if the opponent has armor you can’t hear a drag hitting them but if they are armor less you can hear it.
Dunno if that’s accurate though
with the new swap hands bind, pulling out the gun doesn't make sound, correct?
i dont get why the dualies inspect makes a noise circle when you inspect them if they dont make noise make it make sense
nade hit sound is prolly bugged and might be damage and/or armor dependent. i remember it working only sometimes and only with certain audio settings but it was like 5 months ago so idk
Wake up babe, another Wilson banger
I remember seeing a clip/reddit post/comment/something about HE nades only making impact sound if the damage is below a certain amount. This seems counter intuitive, and I'm not sure if it's intentional or not by the devs, but tbf I didn't test this myself lol
I hate that I fell hook line and sinker for that clickbait thumbnail. But excited to lEARn more.
Wasn’t glass quieter when you break it with a knife? I thought it didn’t shatter as much.
That’s for all the info and work you put in!
Ooooo good question, I have no idea
nice video wilson, thank you gooberino
Thank you atreigoober ❤️
What I really miss from CS:GO is the "pop-flash fake". When you pull any grenade (besides molies) and you pull the pin you release the button, but just before the animation of the throwing plays, you quick-switch to your weapon in order to produce only the sound of throwing a supposed flash. You have no idea how many unfavorable 1v1 duels I won by simply doing this and watching the enemy stare at the wall expecting a self pop-flash xD
I've seen flusha drop a weapon on stairs (in lower tunnels b on dust 2) without a sound by placing it higher than he was standing. is that possible in cs2?
There were too many things I never knew. And I can't tell the difference either with grenade but I'm new to the game as well so idk .
good Job
I think nades DO make a spund when hitting someone for 1 dmg. Also when you pull the pin and then switch to a gun will make a sound too ive heard.
You can fake throwing a nade if you quickswitch before it actually leaves your hand
Elige picked up a grenade against MOUZ on Nuke this week in a clutch scenario. It seemed like he thought this exposed his position, and as a result he lost the round. Does picking up grenades make the audible ticking sound you hear externally as well?
I would assume it behaves the same way that picking up guns do. So if he was shifting or crouching it wouldn’t make a noise, but if he was running or silent peeking then it would
Yo! I was on B Site on Nuke near the bottom of ramp but still inside the B site room, and my teammate was right inside single door. There was an enemy on site that killed my teammate with an AWP and I heard nothing! That needs to be fixed IMO. What do you guys think? Should firing a high powered sniper rifle be inaudible to someone in the same room? WTF
12:42 it makes a noise when you damage only one hp with the nade
Great video, thanks. 7:26 you should say walk instead of shift, as shift is a popular more easily accessible crouch key that people/movement players use, I doobie leaf.
Good point! I didn’t think about that
Do you make a scope sound when you quick switch while scoped in?
Nope! But the second zoom in will make a sound
@@WilsonCS2 Thank you! I always played as if it did make a sound but this is great to know.
Great video!
FYI, the video link in the description does not link to NartOutHere.
Thanks for letting me know! Fixed now:)
The bomb also makes a quiet beeping sound while on the ground
I actually tested this, it’s a myth! The light flashes, and kinda looks like it would make a beep, but it doesn’t make a sounds when it’s on the ground
@@WilsonCS2 I am 100% sure it does beep. Checked it myself. It has a really quiet and high pitch sound
8:23 3kliks did a video about this and how its possible with certain types of keyboards to maintain a certain velocity so you are making no noise but faster than shift walking
1 missed thing :
If you have a weapon and you pick another; you actually drop yours on the ground and i wonder if it makes a sound
It does! But if you and a teammate pass guns to each other at the same time, it won’t
Wild ass thumb nail💀💀💀
Thanks for this video!
I think you only missed the burst fire switch button
Oh good one!
In the beta there is a sound if a he granade deals damage to to a player without armor. Im pretty sure its still in the game but maybe your sound setting are muffling it
How loud does nade drop sound?
Is there a better Windows sound config?
love the video,
i always thought unpinning nades made a sound?? must have been csgo
Only thing missing I can think of are Hostage sounds, granted not as many people play that mode.
Picking a hostage up makes a noise all nearby players can hear
Whoever is carrying a hostage has to deal with hearing the hostage breathe in your ear, I think this is also audible to other nearby players
Injuring a hostage makes them yelp, which can be heard by anyone near
holy shit how did I not think about hostage mode at all hahaha thank you for dropping this information here
Wilson has big ears, a bigger brain, and a bigger heart
😂😂 thank you drain
wow that bot youre with has got some really nice skins
Yeah, he’s pretty swaggy I cannot lie
They buffed the awp by making the scope sound more quiet and more difficult to hear
definitely feels like some sounds were made quieter in the transition to cs2
12:11 my friend literally today told me that he heard that my grenade hit the guy (and the guy indeed was there) but i didn't hear it.
I just need to be able to hear Wilson's beautiful voice :D
Don’t make me blush cojo 😭
reloading shotguns is actually silent for everyone else, a lot of people don't realize that (except mag7)
There are so many sound-related faux pas(walk when your teammates are, don't talk in a clutch, stop dropping the bomb on the futking ground when it's a contact play) that it's crazy to me people play with high spec monitors, pcs, mice, but use bad earphones or even speakers
any time i can tell my teammate is using speakers bc of an echo or something, i immediately mute them as their calls are officially dogshit hahahahaha
It doesn't matter, even cheap headphones or earbuds can hear the audio clearly - quality != readability, especially with modern sound code
Funnily enough, your microphone quality seems really decent in this vid. Coincidence? 😂
HE granades do not make a sound consistently unless they hit you for literally 1 dam it's weird there was a point in cs2 when nades would always make a noise and a distinct one at that one at that but that been patched a long time ago
i wish the sound circles were 100% consistent
why is the headshot GUSH so loud?
Good question
W video
Can you hear an awper walking while they are scoped in?
Nope!
I could never tell if a nade hit someone either. Not in game, or in your video.^^
Dropping a gun on the ground is not a good fake but dropping one into water is a very solid fake. Worked great on Lake RIP
I swear unpinning nades used to make noise???
Nades that do 1hp damage make an audible sound, but that’s it sadly.
nice vid but i think ur mic was too loud..i could barely hear the ingame sounds and when id turn it up i get hella jump scare from your voice again
dident hear on b apps when you throw the nade and on heaven the sound is bad in this game
