- FN FNC is a 5.56×45mm assault rifle developed by the Belgian arms manufacturer FN Herstal and introduced in the late 1970s. The FNC was developed for NATO standardization trials, as a less expensive alternative to the M16 rifle.
In it's core, the long stroke piston system in the FNC is reminiscent of the Kalashnikov design.
When we were visiting the Sellier & Bellot factory we had a chance to test this amazing rifle and make a quick video about it.

The FNC is one of the best 5.56 mm rifles ever made and designed. I love its simple mechanism, and sheet metal receivers - even more than AR-15 rifles.

I think the Swedish military added one to the AK5C.
I have use it in the army and it’s a really reliable rifle . I never had any issue with it , low maintenance and great precision. A weapon that never had the credit it deserves.
Great rifle, not quite an FAL (especially as the FNC only has a 3-point adjustable gas block/ valve setup) but they're fun when they run well. The handguard always reminds me of a CETME or a "Hebrew Hammer" a little bit too.
I love the look of the front handguard and that heat shield :)

SS1 is the indonesian made variant, with locally sourced materials and honestly its not as good as the original FNC from FN.
To hold the bolt open you pull the charging handle back and 'out'. There is a detent in the receiver where the charging handle can remain blocked.

With the bolt to the rear, pull the charging handle out to the right, it should catch in a notch and hold the bolt open

AK5 variant looking slightly cooler than the original FNC. Glad somebody mentioned it in the comments. I immediately noticed different dust cover and extended trigger guard.
Conveniently since I recently watched video on FNC from Forgotten Weapons, I thought that this is not exactly original FNC even if it's just a variant.

all of the hickups were most likely magazine related seeing as the FNC has no bolt hold open and its magazines never had the BHO tab on the followers.

Initially i suspected that it might be under-gassed but didn't really bother to mess with it because we had 20 other guns in line for shooting and filming
The FNC seems to work poorly with standard USGI mags, as far as I'm aware of. You can see that happening in Ian's video as well - after all it was designed for the very similar looking but not identical FN steel mags.

Short and sweet! The way I like them.
I'm a year late, but most FNC feeding issues are magazine related. They can be super picky with the GI pattern stuff. Mine will take P-Mags without a hiccup, but aluminum and steel GI's cause constant failures.

I used the AK5C with a Aimpoint RDS during my military service, wich is a further development of the FNC 80.
I would say it gets the job done and its accurate, but my rifle had alot of misfires during winter :/
The AK5 have a empty magazine bolt catch with the plastic mags aswell.
Pretty cool rifle. I remember watching the TFB TV episode on the rifles of Heat, and I think James Reeeves said that wasn’t the best rifle they could have used… was kind of finicky, but super cool and definitely has the 90’s swat feeling to it
It looks super cool but i also don't like it that much - it's nothing special. Maybe i was too hyped before shootng with it.

there is a reason why it's not used in a lot of army... not a bad gun, but there is so much better
@@elchartps3 First of all I don't think FN FNC is directly a AR-15 child etc. Secondly it has great level of controllability. Thirdly underrated in the sense not so many countries uses this.

Hint: 'Ian'. One thing he mentioned in last week's video was that the rifle can have problems with aluminum GI mags.

The FAL has the bolt handle in the left side. I dont understand why in the FNC they put It in the wrong side

It's not green, but at least it has the larger trigger guard that the Ak5 introduced.

First time i heard about it. It's probably very rare and there is no was of getting one in Slovenia...
The Fara 83 was never mass produced so the chances of finding one outside of Argentina are less than 0, plus they're not in use either, being completely phased in favor of more FAL rifles in Argentina. Also the Kilo 141 (H&K 433) was never mass produced either, so only H&K has access to the few units that were built.

It's an assault rifle - a select fire rifle that uses an intermediate cartridge and a detachable magazine.

They probably got one from a military that uses it or they bought it. They have a large collection of over 1000 different firearms for testing ammo.

@@ukaszbiaas183 In the US, where you'd expect surplus to thrive, guns that were once full auto can't legally be converted to semi-auto without replacing the receiver. Imports of formerly full autos need both the receiver and barrel replaced. These restrictions greatly limit the market for modern surplus. Our government under both major parties also enacts sanctions against Russia and China, blocking importation of newly manufactured guns and ammo that would otherwise be legal. All I can suggest is fight everything and don't compromise.
