They're such minor mistakes in the big picture. Leon was an absolute beast of a Defensive Lineman, who could dominate a game by himself. Not that he really ever had to with Haley, Tolbert, Maryland and Casillias (just to name a few), playing at his side.
I'm an Eagles fan & I never think of those plays first because he was an absolute beast on the line. He would chew up the guards & center so the linebackers & d-ends could make the plays. I love that he mentioned Don Beebe first when talking about the Super Bowl fumble. The Dolphins play shouldn't even bother him. Like they said obscure rule. Go Leon!!
Jimmy Johnson *knew* how valuable Lett was to the team. That's why, after the Miami game, he reassured Lett that, as long as he was head coach, he would always be a Dallas Cowboy.
Leon was a beast of a player and if they had replay Leon might’ve scored on that SB fumble return. I was more disappointed with the substance issues he had. But Leon has three rings and was a big part of those championships.
I was always super impressed by Leon Lett's tremendous natural physical strength and athleticism. Truth is he was a fantastic defensive lineman, and a total nightmare to square up against. Very unfair to recall his two big on-field mistakes ad nauseam.
I admit I was one of the people screaming at the TV and cussing out Leon Lett, but he more than made up for it with all the great plays. And he didn't let it break him. He kept going, and now he's on the Cowboys coaching staff passing on his wisdom.
Just like Jim Marshall, he might have had some embarrassing plays he wished he could take back, but anyone that saw him play knows how terrific of a player he was and I'm a Washington fan. I hated seeing our O-Line trying to block him!
Him and Bill Buckner are so similar because they both have great careers and were great players but they'll only be remembered for their worst moment or moments
but the thing is Leon had 3 rings to show for it. Sadly Buckner didn't and he had his only shot with the Red Sox in 1986. You can laugh at Leon now, but he's a winner.
Leon taught me that no matter what happens on a blocked field goal that you should never turn off the TV and throw your remote onto a concrete slab floor. My son picked up all the pieces of the remote and we got the TV turned back on to find that the Dolphins had won the game. Wow, i still remember how dumb I felt.
That was the most Cowboys play of all time. Flexing the muscle of their franchises history, then ultimately coming up short when it’s time to deliver (ever since the 90s).
Leon Lett when he cost the Cowgirls the game against my Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving Day 1993 only proved that the dumb only get dumber. He never learned from the Super Bowl mistake against Buffalo the previous year, on top of all the suspensions he received throughout his career. SMH
The hell u mean “doesn’t let his mistakes define his career.” Name ONE play that he made that benefited his team by the time the whistle blew (emphasis on that last part, cuz blocking a kick only to then touch it and give it back to Miami for the win isn’t good enough lol)
He doesn't Lett his mistakes to define him.
I’m a honest man but this was a dad joke sorry
Bill Bates kills me with that part about the letter, glad Leon overcame his demons.
It's rare that folks rem the plays with most folks think I do funny how that ended up

They mistakes were not just minor, they were meaningless, as his team won the Super Bowl in both seasons.
No doubt, he was an absolute force in the middle.
Jimmie Jones, Jim Jeffcoat were a part of the dominant D line too.
Absolutely, and both incidents ended up being as inconsequential as they possibly could have been.
idc if he ended up getting carried to SB by your HoF team later that year, his mistakes single handedly lost them games time and time again
Hey, God Bless this guy. He's human.

Laugh all you want at Leon Lett but he got the last laugh with three Super Bowl rings.
Those other guys ain't Leon
You are not lying. The big cat got three rings.
He did badass with the cowboys.
You right though homie 👍
Leon Lett ‘um alone
Leon is a good man. Thank you Leon
Leon was a beast of a player and if they had replay Leon might’ve scored on that SB fumble return. I was more disappointed with the substance issues he had. But Leon has three rings and was a big part of those championships.
One of the kindest and greatest human beings!
Those two plays aside Leon was always one of my favs on that D line u the man Leon show them the rings if anyone brings it up!
No matter how many mistakes he made, hes a champion! Hes a winner
He won 3 Superbowls with the Cowboys.
You can tell he’s a good guy. That’s the most important thing.
I was always super impressed by Leon Lett's tremendous natural physical strength and athleticism. Truth is he was a fantastic defensive lineman, and a total nightmare to square up against. Very unfair to recall his two big on-field mistakes ad nauseam.
3:36. I followed the Cowboys as a child with Roger Staubach . I can’t recall snow in Texas stadium.
This was the game that made me understand the range of Texas climate.
Watch film and notice Lett is ALWAYS the first one off the line at the snap.
I’ve always wondered how he felt about these moments
Glad to see he’s happy.

Let “Lett” get the football 🏈 😭
May we remind you this guy's pro career lasted a whole decade. He deserves more credit than he does.
I give him all the credit for those 2 plays, I mean thats all hes remembered for other than getting carried to 3 rings
Leon Lett 🐐🐐
These are the stories I love
Thurman Thomas couldn’t find his helmet during the Super Bowl. Thats way worse. He probably hid it because he was tired of running into big Cat Leon.
Weird how this gets recommended to me after the Cowboys lost in a similar fashion lol
Excited every time nfl films uploads content
Glad to see him happy. Seems like a good guy.

That's right, Lett. You're a three-time SB champion and two-time Pro Bowler. That's all that matters.
At least he didn’t cost his team a SB
You are right about that.
@@hectorlopez1069cough Russ cough
As it turns out. History repeats itself. And his mistake does in fact define him and that play.
If 97 looked to his right 😂
Ikr, just but a body on bebe
BIG CATT
Still a 3x Champ and one of the Best Defensive players ever!!!!. Mistakes and All. #LeonLett
9:00 said it right💯

1:09 What the hell is #66 doing?! He's the guy set up to block Leon Lett, and instead he steps to the side...
Looks like it was a play where the guard pulls out and the center or someone else fills in the block. The execution was awful though
Man with character
4:24 TEXAS STADIUM?!
I thought they played the game up north
😭😭😭😭
Leons the man
I remember Lett was a problem 😭
Thank God this video exists.
That was the most Cowboys play of all time. Flexing the muscle of their franchises history, then ultimately coming up short when it’s time to deliver (ever since the 90s).
He let's his mistakes remember him😂
"It's Leon Lett! Nooo!!!"
The Big Cat one of the best ever !,,,,,
I love the guy, his mistakes are unimportant.
He may not but the rest of us do! 🤪😜🤣
Neither one of those mistakes mattered. They won the Super Bowl both years. Leon was a very good player.
Jimmy Johnson was a G
Btw, I wonder if Thurman Thomas still has nightmares when he thinks of Lett. lol
Dolphins Cowboys was the best Turkey day game ever
His worst mistake was the dolphins game. I saw that game live, as a 7 year old kid. He blew it really bad.
Idk that episode of Leon is all I know him by
The Big Cat!!!
The '92-'95 Cowboys don't win those three Super Bowls without Leon Lett... and that's all that matters.
A young Greg Cote what a great surprise. Ya never know
Leon Lett when he cost the Cowgirls the game against my Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving Day 1993 only proved that the dumb only get dumber. He never learned from the Super Bowl mistake against Buffalo the previous year, on top of all the suspensions he received throughout his career. SMH
The big Cat
I'd like to see what his thoughts are on that MNF game between DAL and CIN just now since Joe Buck invoked his name
Amani Oruwariye has now took over you demons. 😅
Good for him but I DEFINITELY let his mistakes define him
he doesn't understand how field goals work
Leon Lett!!!! LEON LETT!!!! to bad they didn't lose that superbowl
Even if lett got the touchdown, the cowboys still don't get 60 points, they get 59 points.
Which would have been a SB record in most points scored.
Well of course he doesn't. He can't remember any of them due to his drug use
He made one bad play.

A key forced fumble in two Super Bowls. 1 INT on Farve in the NFC Championship. 3 plays that helped his team win 3 rings. I watched it live.
