    “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Galatians 6:9
    “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” Psalm 55:22
    “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.” Psalm 89:1
    “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

    Wow! I’ve been subscribed since you moved and can I just say THANK YOU for your service. We often thank our military men but I just realized I’ve never had the chance to thank the wives for all their sacrifice and service as well. So thank you so much for all that you do, for your flexibility (to move across the world!) and your commitment to your husband and thereby extension, our country. It’s not easy to pickup your whole life and live in a foreign country - your moving process alone proves that! God has called you to an honorable work in serving your family and your country and I pray He blesses you and your family abundantly and continues to give you His strength as you lean on Him during this sojourn you’re on. 💛

      That means so much, thank you. We have seen God’s faithfulness over and over and are definitely continuing to rely on Him during this crazy season. 💕

      Thanks! I like it too. ☺️ It can feel overwhelming at times to organize a new space, but I also enjoy the process of seeing it all come together. Can’t wait to see your new little guy! 🥰

    I thank you and your husband for your service and sacrifice to our country! My 19 year old son who is active duty in the Army is moving to Japan in July for his 1st duty assignment, Camp Zama. I caught notice of your video bc of his future move and service. Super proud of him, Thank you.

      Thanks so much Trish! I hope he has a safe/smooth move. I hear only positive things about being stationed here in Japan. I hope it’s a wonderful experience for him.

    Great quarters - how nice that you have a double space renovated into a single family space! We had some similar features in our 1950's Okinawa home, but yours looks much newer. We also used the high closet spaces for suitcases, as well as off-season or hand-me-down clothes that didn't fit anyone just yet. Totally jealous of your pantry. We had to create a pantry in our laundry room in Okinawa. Your new couch system looks fun! It looks like it will work really well for your family. I hope you are meeting some great people already!

      Thanks Becky! It does have some really great features. 🤗 We’re actually living next door to the base chaplain and their four kids. Both of our neighbors are very nice. I’m hoping to keep making new connections as time allows.

    It looks like a really nice big apartment. Loved the tour and can't wait to see how it all comes together. I love organizing new spaces so I'd have so much fun with it, but I know it can be overwhelming too especially with little kids running around. Thanks for sharing!

      Thanks! I’m the same; I enjoy organizing too. I struggle with being patient and doing just a little at a time. My go get um attitude wants to go all in and get everything finished right now. But that’s not realistic for our situation. 😉😂 I definitely see lots of trips to the Japanese dollar store “Daiso” in my future though!

    Wow! That place is HUGE! How long do they give you when you arrive until he has to report to work?

    • @CalledtoCultivate
      @CalledtoCultivate  2 роки тому +1

      Right!? We never could have gotten something this big out in town. He was able to take some “leave” time, but there is a report date that is written into the orders. He just “checked in” to his new job on Thursday this week. We both completed orientation and got our Japanese licenses as well, so now this week we hope to get a van!

      We were very thankful they had housing that could accommodate our large family! Our unit used to be two 2 bedroom apartments before they renovated it into a four bedroom. Anything we would have rented out in town would have been much smaller, so we’re glad to have the space! Back when we were are family of three we lived in a one bedroom apartment; so I’ve done “tiny house” living too. 😂

    What an amazing setup for your family! Just an idea, but could you use one of the shelves in the pantry for the microwave and toaster oven? Are there plugs in there? Can’t wait to see the place as you get settled in!

    • @CalledtoCultivate
      @CalledtoCultivate  2 роки тому

      Thanks Jennifer! I love that idea of having it in the pantry, unfortunately they didn’t put a plug in there. 🤪 That would have been a great solution!

    Awww you made me miss Homeschool for five minutes lol. I'm honestly excited to have the oldest in dodea and the youngest in Korean school. It's been a nice little break, but my brain is still in homeschool mode sometimes 🥰

    Do your US appliances work in Japan? I would’ve thought it would be slightly different wattages or plugs.

    • @CalledtoCultivate
      @CalledtoCultivate  2 роки тому +2

      They do work. We live on base, so there are American plugs in our apartment. That being said they don’t run at exactly the same power we’re used to. For example, the microwave takes more time to reheat food and the clock on the oven doesn’t keep time accurately. 😂 But I’m just glad we didn’t have to buy converters or all new Japanese appliances!

    • @CalledtoCultivate
      @CalledtoCultivate  2 роки тому +1

      It hasn’t been too bad. We purchased a collapsible wagon that has been helpful. They also have shopping carts outside our building that we can use to unload our vehicles. So far with the elevator we’re managing just fine. 🤗

    Out of curiosity since the closets are the same size should the boys and girls go next to each other by the toy closet and the smaller room where the boys currently are be the nursery? Or did they all choose their rooms?

    • @CalledtoCultivate
      @CalledtoCultivate  2 роки тому

      We definitely considered that arrangement as well. We’ll make the final determination when our hhg arrive. We weren’t sure about having the nursery being right off the main living space; if that would make it more difficult for her to sleep at nap and nighttime. Lots of variables to consider! 😉👍🏻

  • @NotSoPerfectHomeschool

    Do those top pieces fall off the nugget when you lean back?

    • @CalledtoCultivate
      @CalledtoCultivate  2 роки тому +1

      After some research, we purchased the “double brushed” fabric covers for the nuggets. It offers more resistance to sliding. So while it will fall with enough force, it can withstand reclining back on it to watch a show. We also have really liked setting them up in a hammock type arrangement. In the end I really wanted our home to offer plenty of indoor entertainment during the rainy season, when it’ll be challenging to go outside. I think these will be thoroughly enjoyed! 😂🙌🏻

    Did you take any small appliances with you in your checked luggage

    • @CalledtoCultivate

      Yes, we brought an instant pot and a skillet in one of our many checked bins. Fortunately our express shipment made it to Japan before us and we were able to get those items a few days after we arrived.

    How long does it take to get your household items?

    • @CalledtoCultivate
      @CalledtoCultivate  2 роки тому

      It varies greatly; we were very fortunate to get our household goods in two months which is pretty fast! I’ve heard it take up to 6 months for some families. There are so many things that impact the turn around time.
