@Aero 250 nah mate the rock had vince push all the way vince love Samoans Punk build his career by himself
To this day I still believe that wrestlemania shouldve been a triple threat match between rock, cena, and cm punk
Yup. Have Cena win the Rumble, Punk and Rock finish to a no contest at the Rumble PPV, Screwy Finish where Punk retains against The Rock @ Elimination Chamber and Finally a triple threat main event where Cena wins. Rock is about to put Punk away after a Rock Bottom and people's elbow, Cena comes from behind and hits Rock with an AA then makes Punk tap out with an STF.
Everyone goes home happy. Punk gets his main event and has a historic reign as champion (would've been close to 600 days by that point), Cena wins back the championship and Vince gets high PPV buy rates thanks to Rock's star power.
Agreed, but that Taker v Punk match was MOTN and a classic.
@@saygoodnighttothebadguy totally agree with that...

The way he explains it is basically two people sticking to their guns, at the end they came to a middle ground. No hate or animosity involved at worst a debate. Cm punk may be prideful at times but he did reach out so the rock didn't misunderstand him and the rock had already forgotten. That's maturity on both sides.

Because imitating Vince is such good s**t!!!
I think people like to mimic their boss around each other, nice stress reliever. All the SNL alumni have a Lorne Michaels impression.
Feel like Rock would love working with people like Punk and respected how he responded with ideas. I understand why Cena and Rock main evented wrestlemania as it's always been a show about star power, but I think Punk could have been involved in the rematch as maybe a triple threat... But I imagine Cena wanted his win back in a 1 v1.
@Meta Man rock has absolutely won at life 😂
I don’t think it would have gone well. It’s better how it went Icon vs icon just like Hogan vs Rock
No reason too, Punk just isn't what they wanted or what those others are.
He played against the undertaker and that's the greatest honour you can ever have as a wrestler
I'm in two minds. In 2012, Punk more or less carried WWE (nevermind holding the WWE title the entire calendar year) and his efforts, which included turning heel against his wishes part way through, should've been rewarded with the Mania 29 main event even in a triple threat elimination match where Punk is pinned in the first 5 minutes. However that would've ruined Rock and Cena's ready made story which required Cena to pin Rock after losing the previous year and be endorsed by Rock in a singles match. Plus Punk got the honour of wrestling Undertaker in the only memorable match at the 2013 Mania.
“Did you know they give people time off now”
That line hurt.
Damn, that says a lot, man. The man was risking his body on the line, yet he got no respect from the WWE.
Way for punk hart to make it all about himself
Everybody risks their life in wrestling and people have worked through injuries and recent surgeries. It's not just in WWE.
@@vongola11thboss67 True, and I get that just saying that back then till 2015 & 2017, WWE was exploiting their top wrestlers; now; if they want time off, they can kindly ask for it and get time off from TV, and we've seen that including female wrestlers not to throw shade or anything. Still, it is messed up that back; women wrestlers in WWE didn't get pregnant because of being afraid they would lose their spot and eventually their job. E.g., Lita, Trish, Torry Wilson, and on and on eventually, they became moms but in their late 30’s 40’s.
@Ryan Wilson Bro, he sued one of the doctors in WWE lmao - don’t get me wrong, I hated punk; I thought he was always overrated (my opinion). That being said, I don't think he is lying here. He’s thrown shots at Ryback, Triple H, including Vince, Yet nobody has called him out. The fact you will see this guy every week on TV, including WWE’s version of ECW, speaks for itself.
@Ryan Wilson Lol, bro, I get what you're saying, but you also can’t compare everyone's recovery time the same plus, he got screwed multiple times by doctors clearing him up when he was still injured. I don't think he was getting paid as much as John Cena. He didn't have merch except for shirts; he was also never advertised. Think about it imagine having people in the back trying to step on you or hold you back. That's a lot of crap to deal with mentally and emotionally. He went over most times because of the WWE fans, not the WWE management.
At this point WWE is like a Charity that The Rock gives back to with an occasional appearance or promo, or as a plug for wrestlers who want to transition into Hollywood.
Yeah pretty much. Rock has literally no need for WWE at this point. Same for Cena to a lesser extent.
@@graythaprince crazy thing is when you think about it, Rock became bigger than the company when he was still full time (2000) he fulfilled his contract and lost whenever he needed. I feel like Cena vs Rock II was inevitable but I don’t think it should’ve been for the title. Would’ve love to see Cena vs Punk or Cena vs Punk vs Rock at Mania 29 for the WWE title
Cena vs Rock 2 should have never happened imo. U could have made rock & Cena VS the shield in a 2v3 handicap match ( the shield cost rock at the rumble and Cena at elimination chamber) and punk VS taker in the main event for the title
@@ryzes1084 really once in a lifetime was so special and I was there what a match what a pop it was special the second one was just flat to me not as special honestly Cena imo even as a Cena fan at 12-13 didn’t need to beat the Rock he lost to the Great One a legend who’s beaten hogan Austin and John Cena all at wrestlemania. John Cena didn’t need the second match the idea of a triple threat would’ve been awesome or you know punk just beats him on raw cuz that was also an incredible match
They had to let Cena get his win back so Rock vs Cena II in a one on one had to happen. It was likely agreed all the way back when they decided to have Rock win their first match. You're right that it shouldn't have been for the title. Making it a title match just made it that much more obvious that Cena would win and it didn't need the title involved. Punk should have remained champ and defended it against someone else, like Taker, since that's who he faced anyway. Letting Taker have one more title reign would have been cool too.
Punk was right to many superstars are yes men to vince and he got used to having it his way and when cm punk challenge his authority vince doesnt like that and fired him it makes sense now
Pretty sure he was fired because he refused to appear in any WWE show for about six moths, hell I would also fire an employee who just stop presenting to work the way Punk did

If you search for reports during January of that year, he was very clear he didnt wanna wrestle anymore and that he left the company.
I dont know If he was suspended, but wouldnt you do that to a person who just said he would never gonna come back to work? Also I think WWE didnt fire him before because they wanted to keep sellig his shirts as long as they could, since Cm punk merch waa still very popular
@@ReaperFrost and then they asked him to return in a pay per view and he said he's getting married so he will talk about this after coming back from honeymoon. And send him Letter on his wedding day.
Also WWE lied that he quiet WWE but after his win against WWE in court. Vince apologize to him for that (saving his image that's it)
This statement is laughable 😂😂
On the contrary actually. From a lot of accounts, Vince is someone who respects people who stand up to him. He's more likely to dislike somebody if he thinks that guy is weak and a push-over, which is one of the reasons why John Morrison never got much of a push.
Vince didn't fire Punk for standing up to him. He fired Punk for walking out on RAW and not showing up to work for half a year.

You kinda need egomaniacs like this guy in the business. It forces those around him to be even better.
I wouldn’t say he’s an egomaniac, per se. Does he have an ego? Sure, but then again, most people in the industry have an ego to some extent, especially when they’re as high up as Punk is. You kinda have to develop it to thrive.
But in his defense, Punk doesn’t have a reputation as a guy who needs to go over all the time like Hogan or won’t put over other people like 90s HBK. More people like Ricky Starks, Big E and others have credited him for helping to elevate them when he’s worked with them.

I preferred The Rock in the Attitude Era, compared to his Dwayne 'The Rock' part time role from 2011-2013. It didn't seem like the same person. The Nation of Domination, corporate and Hollywood Heel Rock had that arrogant, narcisistic, egocentric persona that was so entertaining. When he returned to face Cena and Punk, he seemed like a shell of his former self, who would just suck up to the crowd. It was sad to see.
They all mellow out as they get older
Well Rock had to be scaled back due to A: PG and B: PC. Most Rock promos circa 2000 wouldn't fly today due to some of the connotations and other potentially offensive verbiage he used to use which weren't shunned back then.
Well he was face
Nah he was perfect, he just should’ve kept the sunglasses
Cause he's full on baby face when he returned. Obviously there's gonna bea huge difference. Take into account how family friendly focused WWE was when he returned too and you get your answer.
Punk is not the first one who said that all that "family talk" in WWE is BS. They treat you like a toy and family only exists as long as they might owe something to you, so you might not als for it. As soon as this gos the otherway it's not family, it's business. Punk got his released paper on his wedding day with AJ, that tells you how they are.
Every job does that, or at least every one I've had as an adult. "We love you" til you make too much $ or you become otherwise replaceable and then all that family talk goes out the window

Rock and Austin were no longer active wrestlers so I was just like eh I’m not feeling this anymore. I did return watching in 11 cause Rock returned but Punk definitely made things interesting. I’m a sucker for wrestlers who have great promo ability.
He was just born in the wrong era. He should have been in the territories. That's a compliment.
Truth, I only saw CM Punk in TNA prior to going to the WWE. He really was really treated like crap. I mean had he taken time off on TNA then I would have not been surprised. Punk demanded to be the best and he could not handle the chaos of being the top. Those at the top really don’t last that long on the top. As for the Rock he brings a lot of viewers and is now an established A grade star. CM Punk lost his MMA matches, was not destroyed by Brock and was given clean victories over Cena. To say he was treated bad is bs. He should have taken time off but he knew it would mean he would lose his spot and as much as CM Punk claims he was pushed reality is he was pushed to be the top star and couldn’t handle it.
"he was pushed to be the top star and couldn't handle it"? Lets analyze that statement:
The biggest match of his career was Money in the Bank 2011, he wasn't even on the poster.
He dropped the title at summerslam 2011, one month later - which he *also* wasn't even on the poster for, despite being the most popular wrestler in the world.
The next PPV he lost to a guy(Triple H) that wasn't even an active wrestler
The very next night Punk's rematch clause was explained away by putting him in a triple threat
A match that he lost when he was pinned at the next PPV.
After this, the next PPV he was in a tag match with Triple H, which again, punk was pinned and lost.
From the match he won at money in the bank for his first title run until after losing the title to Rock on his second run, he was on the PPV poster *twice*
That sound like being treated like the top star?
@@Reaprar He did get the title was on the video game cover was multiple times on posters as the headline and was given consecutive wins over Jon Cena to include big matches. Add to the fact that he was able to get multiple attacks against Brock Lesner who demolished Cena and Randy to the point where Jericho thought Lesner took advantage of Randy. So yeah he was pushed and kept being a dick to other wrestlers and backstage writers. To top it off did he attempt to look like a Champion while holding the title? No he stayed the same way and attempted nothing new. As for the back and forth between Punk and the Rock, punk was a snooze and did get okays with the Rock about the insults. He did a better job with MJF who has a lot less time behind the mike. Finally let’s see Triple H, a wrestler who finished a match where you can see his leg muscle break, CM Punk was sued by a doctor that examined him prior to CM Punk leaving the WWE with complaints that had they been true we both know CM Punk would have sued. Even if they had been partly real CM Punk would have sued instead of bitching online. Which was what really boosted CM Punk his online complaints.

"he was on the videogame cover"
The devs at THQ have stated in multiple interviews for years that they had to fight the company to put Punk on the game cover, WWE wanted sheamus on it.
"was multiple times on posters"
He was on 2 posters during his run despite being the most popular wrestler in the world by every metric for years. In the same time span they put guys on the posters that weren't even active wrestlers.
You conveniently left out the fact that the end result of the lawsuit was punk winning the case.
The fact that you have to try and reach to all these inconsequential things because it's simply undeniable that Punk was treated unfairly is proof enough of it's own. There has not been a single world champion to date that was as over as Punk was while being completely suppressed as he was.
His victories over Cena weren’t clean. Money in the bank 2011: Punk took out Cena who had his back turned stopping a screwjob. Summerslam 2011: Cena had his leg on the ropes when Punk got the pin. night of champions 2012: Punk won by default because Cena apparently didn’t pin him properly (that was for heel punk while the other two were face punk). If you’re going to call bs, recognize your own. Cena was still protected just enough for the company to still have the kids believe he was invincible at the time while the story could get pushed along without focusing on it
@@JThom529 Pipebomb had Cena on the mat for how long? You called victories over Cena as protected that is because Cena was the top star CM Punk would get the shot execute then bitch about his treatment over the internet. Punk was called an internet darling for a reason, his bitching.
It is hard to believe he is 42 years old
I wasn’t into wrestling that much when he was on. The best heel ever as Good as Roddy ( rip)
Triple H Randy and edge are the best
Yup. I'd put Punk's heel run up with Roddy (who I need to watch more of), Austin (2001), and ironically Hogan (1996-97) though he hates Hogan.
What cm punk is saying both care that the audience get the best experience
Never knew punk dated lita.
Yep he left her for aj lee
Who the fuck cares
@@davidaames1624 the irony aj lee was a fan of lita, later she stole cm punk from lita

CM Punk 👑
Vince reminds me of the coach from Varsity Blues.
I was about to say, "don't you talk about Dwayne!"
@@TekMex666 That seems to be pretty much everyone's opinion on the Rock. One of the better dudes in the business.
Anyone gonna point out he's wearing a shirt with his wife on it? That's so adorable
I did not know CM Punk was ever dating Lita
Yeah it was like a year. She was with him when he was the grand marshall for the Macy's parade in Chicago
He dated a lot of divas
Him and Cena pretty much fucked more or less the whole womens lockerroom.
@@pavma7 😂😂😂
He's going to main event WrestleMania 40.
Life comes back full circle
We need starcast with Jinder Mahal soon 🤘
Rock is one of my favorites of all time. I would be fucking pissed off if I were Punk. Walking into that hotel and some jack ass gives me some promos to read. Straight bullshit....
Lita got around
Oh u better believe
Not as much as Punk to be honest. His list of past girlfriends reads like a who-is-who of mid-2000s mainstream & independent wrestling.
@TheBestFighter lol bro go get some bitches and get off youtube
Most of the wrestlers get round, hard not to when your on the road so much.
